The Mafia's Meeting
Marino's pov
I stood in front of my suite window, as I towel dry my hair and got ready for the 'bosses meeting', which is a meeting exclusively attended by the bosses or leaders of different mafia families. These gatherings are typically held to address matters of mutual interest, establish alliances, or make decisions that impact the overall operations of the mafia.
But first I need to have lunch, I thought, as I could hear my stomach growl aggressively due to hunger, I had skipped breakfast and won't be glad to skip lunch also.
"Hmm, what's it gonna be?" I said to myself and thought of what to wear as I stood in front of my wardrobe which conveyed a lot of suits. Without much thinking I took out my tailored charcoal suit and laid it on my bed.
I got dressed and walked out to the dinning section of the hotel, and sat on my usual and favorite spot of the diner, from this view I'll be able to observe every nook and cranny of the room.
"What can I get you sir" a waiter who just approached me asked.
"I'll have red wine for a start" I informed the waiter, who scribbled something down on his pad as he turned to leave. I took hold of the menu to decide on what to eat. The waiter soon returned in a jiffy without wasting a single time
"Here you go sir" the waiter said, as he placed the wine on the table and pulp it open, and empty a little content of it into the wine glass.
"Have you decided yet sir?" the waiter asked as he prepared to write down my order on his notepad.
"On a second thought, I think I'll just call for room service" I said as I dropped down the menu, I felt like eating in the privacy of my room.
"Alright sir, should I take back the wine" the waiter had ask
"no, no problem, lemme savor it for a moment" I said to the waiter as he nodded his head and made to leave.
I relaxed and made myself comfortable on my chair, and took a sip of wine, as I scrutinized my environment. The upscale diner hummed with lively conversations and the clinking of cutleries against porcelain. I surveyed the room with a watchful gaze, as my eyes swept across the room it fell upon this lady in peach colored gown sitting opposite a man who I suspect to be her guardian. I watched as she giggled slightly revealing some perfect dentition. I watched as she elegantly stood up and squatted slightly beside the man and took pictures.
She made back to her seat, I watched her closely as she ate, she looked up and I locked eyes with this enigmatic figure, there was an immediate flicker of recognition and intrigued. Something about her piqued my interest - a delicate beauty among the little crowd.
I could notice her eyebrows furrowed, her curiosity getting the better Of her. I gave a knowing smile and leaned back in my chair, and swirled my glass of wine. I stood up immediately and left, leaving this unknown lady to drool at my presence like every other girl does. I had gotten back to my suite and rang for room service. Which came with my food, I munch on my food slowly as I scrolled down my phone. the "bosses meeting" was scheduled to start by 4pm and I still have like an hour left. I knew I was gonna be late, but I couldn't care less. I have the feeling that the meeting is gonna involve something that has to do with me, with the incident that has to do with Bianchi. But I cant even pretend to give a damn, he deserves it for acting as a snitch on my warehouse.
I checked my Swiss watch on my wrist and figured it was just eight minutes past four. I stood up from the chair I was deeply relaxed on, as I sighed heavily.
"Let's get this over with," I said as I walked out of my hotel room. I walked towards the Private dining room of the hotel, it is typically separated from the main dining area and is reserved for a specific group, events or meeting. The heavy wooden doors of the luxurious mansion swung open, revealing an opulent meeting room. Soft golden light emanated from chandeliers overhead, casting an ethereal glow on the assembled figures.
The air buzzed with a mixture of respect, tension, and authority as the bosses of the most powerful mafia families took their seats around a long, polished mahogany table. The room was cloaked in darkness, save for the soft glow of a chandelier hanging above a large oval table. Seated around it were the heads of the most formidable mafia families in the city, their presence commanding respect and authority.
Dominic, an imposing figure with a sharp gaze and a steely demeanor, presided over the meeting. As the acknowledged boss of bosses, his word held tremendous weight within the criminal underworld. Each of the attending bosses, dressed in sharp suits and exuding an air of danger, awaited the commencement of the gathering. Dominic leaned forward, his voice carrying a commanding authority that filled the room.
"Gentlemen, I call this meeting of the families to order. We gather here today to discuss matters of utmost importance to our organizations and our way of life." The room fell into silence.
First on the agenda," Dominic continued, "is the ongoing situation with our territory boundaries. We've seen an increase in encroachment from outside factions. It is imperative that we fortify our defenses and send a clear message that our territories are off-limits."
"Marino we've heard of measure you took in getting rid of an intruder in your territory, you deserve accolades for that" Dominic said addressing me as I smirked a little with a hint of pride
The bosses nodded in agreement, their expressions firm and resolute. The topic struck at the heart of their power, and protecting their interests was paramount.
We face new challenges," Don Giovanni continued, his tone measured. "Our operations have come under increased scrutiny, and law enforcement grows more relentless. It is crucial that we adapt, evolve, and protect our interests."
The bosses nodded in agreement, their expressions a mix of determination and concern. We knew the risks involved in our illicit activities and the need to stay ahead of our adversaries.
Dominic raised a hand, motioning toward a large screen displaying charts and intelligence reports. "Our first order of business: the expansion of our narcotics operations. We have identified new territories for our influence, but we must strategize wisely to ensure seamless integration and zero disruption."
As the discussion unfolded, we shared insights, concerns, and proposed solutions. The room filled with impassioned debates, negotiations, and the occasional clash of egos. Dominic maintained control, steering the conversation with a steady hand, ensuring that all perspectives were heard and considered.
After hours of intense deliberation, a consensus began to emerge. The bosses forged alliances, allocated resources, and set in motion a plan to expand our drug empire while mitigating risks. We understood that collaboration and unity were paramount for success.
Dominic stood once more, his voice ringing with conviction. "Gentlemen, we have reached an accord. The course is set, and our families will stand united as we embark on this endeavor. We will continue to protect our territories, secure our profits, and defend our way of life." The room erupted in applause, a testament to the collective strength and loyalty that bound these families together. We exchanged nods and firm handshakes, cementing their commitment to the shared cause.
"Gentlemen, let it be known that we stand united. Our bond, our loyalty to this way of life, must remain unyielding. Together, we will navigate the treacherous obstacles and ensure our dominance." Dominic concluded
We rose, and I could see faces of men etched with a mixture of determination and respect. One by one, we filed out of the room, each knowing the gravity of the decisions made and the responsibilities that lay ahead.
Immediately I got to my hotel, I sighed heavily as I loosened my tie and dropped heavily to my bed. I reached for my phone to call my men, but immediately I got a call from my right hand man, I answered immediately.
"The packages just arrived boss" I heard from the other side of the line
"Make sure, nobody leaves till I arrive" I instructed, I hung up and stood up immediately, took hold of my car key and left for my warehouse.
