CHAPTER 2 - Divorce

The next day, Julia went into her room to gather her stuff, it took her some time to come out and Victor looked at her, with a suitcase in her hands. Was she really leaving? Wouldn’t she have his love one day?

Julia’s eyes were calm and empty. She looked obviously so hurt and painful, yet her strong attitude and dread gaze made his heart beat with guilt and fear.

Her face became thin and pale as she hadn’t eaten yesterday. She looked like a corpse as her eyes were red and swollen.

“Sign this, Julia.” He ordered as he placed papers on the table in front of her.

Julia looked at the papers. Her heart ached and she clutched at her chest to her heart. She was never accepting to divorce him. He was her husband and her world.

“I want a divorce, Julia…” he started. “Our contract has already ended. Just sign it and set me free.”

Julia hiccupped with fear, hearing him, and she took a step back looking into his eyes. Soon, pear-like teardrops rolled down on her pale cheeks, showing how painful and fearful she was.

She took out a pen, signed his divorce papers and left the villa. As she stepped outside, he called her.

“Julia…” he called. “I will offer you 100,000$ and 5% of my company’s share as a payment for your efforts. You can treat your mother with such an amount and make a living with our shares.”

“I don’t need anything from you, Victor.” She stated “I am leaving now, the heart you broke will never be fixed by money. Hope we will never see each other again… Now, you can be free… You can marry my best friend…”

She stepped out of the house and walked away, leaving him alone in the darkness…

...

At afternoon, Julia went to her grandfather’s house and tossed her head in his bosom. She could not believe what had happened with her and what the dilemma had brought, but she could clearly tell that Monica had planned for everything just to break them apart.

Her grandfather brushed her hair with his fingers and tried to console her. Explaining everything to her grandfather, she wanted someone to believe and support her.

She went to the bed to sleep, but she couldn’t as she couldn’t help herself but think about him and their baby. They could have become a perfect family.

Tears rolled down from her eyes as she clutched to the bedsheet hardly. She was ached deeply as if she was stabbed right in her heart.

She did not care about anything or anyone, but it ached that her man was no longer beside her, she could not imagine him with another woman.

After crying for so long, she could finally sleep. She could recall all of the events in her nightmare and dream about him. She cried remembering his face and missing him, she was so weak and broken.

It was morning and she woke up from the bed for a breakfast. As soon as she sat by the table and took a glance at the food, Julia could feel nauseous and rushed to the toilet.

“Julia, are you alright?” asked her grandfather as she rushed after her.

He could find her in the toilet vomiting and crying. Julia groaned and cleaned her mouth before looking at her sister, who was looking at her with shocked eyes.

“What happened with you??” asked the Grandpa Sigmund “Are you alright??”

“I… I don’t know…” mumbled Julia. “I just felt the need to vomit when I looked at the food.”

“Julia, are you pregnant?!”

Hearing her grandfather’s words, she could not hide the secret anymore, so she told him the truth. Originally, she wanted to hide her pregnancy and travel far from the country, yet her body betrayed her as if the baby wanted to be known.

“Oh my god, Julia, I am going to tell Victor!” chuckled grandfather Sigmund. “You must go and tell him about this news and ask him to take the responsibility. He will surely come crawling after you and miss you more and more.”

“He will not…” murmured Julia.

“Eh? Why?”

“He had already slept with another woman, so he won’t look at me anymore… I will never go to him again. Why would I? he should be the one to run after me as he made a huge mistake, cheating on his wife. Once he would do it, I would hurt him until I could get my revenge and feel better.”

“Oh my god, Julia. You are snatching his beloved things from him now, you are acting devilishly. You are pregnant with his child, just tell him about it and try to fix everything back to normal, or do you want that woman to take him from you?”

“Nothing will be fixed again. If trust breaks, there will be no going back. I won’t be with that man again and I will never give him the child. If he wants a child, he can make one with Monica… but… this one… is mine… Mine only!!”

Her grandfather’s lips pressed together as he sighed. Julia thought that she should raise the child alone. She would find a job soon and protect her child.

Letting out a deep sigh, she placed her hands on her belly.

“With his extreme arrogance, do you think he might come back to you?” asked the grandfather.

“I am not sure about my husband anymore, he isn’t the same one I know. I can’t expect his next movements…” assured Julia. “However, never tell him about anything and hide this fact.”

“I promise to be a fine grandfather…”

“Victor shall never know about the pregnancy and the child…”

Julia left the place as soon as her grandfather insisted on their make up, she could never accept that cheap man in her life anymore... In the end, she was only his game, and he would never love her.
