For a moment, Isabelle was speechless. He wanted her in exchange for her father's debt? What exactly did he mean by that? She had all these questions inside her head and she wasn't sure which one to ask first. But then again, she could see her father becoming even more nervous and scared. If he couldn't protect their family, she would have to fight and sacrifice for it instead.

"Please, don't kill my daughter," her father begged, getting on his knees.

"I've made up my mind," Alpha Jaxon stated, leaving nothing left for discussion. Then he nodded his head to the other guy in the room, as if ordering him to do something. The other guy walked over to them and grabbed her arm.

Isabelle looked at her father nervously. "Papa!"

Her father shook his head and looked at his daughter in plain regret. "Isabelle, I'm sorry."

Her eyes widened. He was just going to let them take her away? What kind of father would let the bad guys take away his only daughter? What kind of father could watch someone taking away his daughter to be killed in exchange for his debt?

Alpha Jaxon laughed and the sound of his voice echoed to her ears with no trace of amusement. "You can't even fight for your own daughter," he accused, looking at her father in disbelief. "Nor do something to save her. You're just an old man with love for anyone or anything but yourself." Then he grabbed her father by the neck and raised his body above the floor.

Her father gasped. "Isabelle."

It happened so fast and she knew she couldn't let him kill her father. Isabelle reached over and touched the Alpha by the arm. A surge of electric shock ran over her but she ignored it, looking up at him with hopeful eyes.

"Stop it, please!" she begged, asking for mercy. He stopped, loosening his grip on her father's neck. Isabelle took a deep breath, finally having enough of everything. "Take me instead," she pleaded, not knowing her tears were already starting to fall down her cheeks. She couldn't stop it.

He didn't hide his surprise, seeing her jumping in action to save her father and asking to replace him instead. Isabelle knew he was right, that it wasn't her fault her father was in this mess. But family meant so much to her and she would rather die than watch the ones she loves be killed before her eyes.

"You're willing to risk your own life to save your father?" he asked in disbelief.

"Yes," she answered with certainty. "He's suffered enough and I don't want him to suffer anymore. It's my turn to carry his heavy burden."

"Very well," Alpha Jaxon sighed, letting go of her father. The old man fell on the floor in a weakened state. He looked up at Isabelle, his teary eyes written with regret. She didn't think this was day going to end up like this. However, she had finally realized her father wasn't her father anymore. He'd changed over time and was nothing more but a weak heartless soul.

Still, Isabelle loved him with all her heart. She could feel her tears starting to fall yet again. Finally, she stood up straight, facing Alpha Jaxon with a fearless face. She was ready to die.

"Come with me," he ordered and she looked at him, confused. Wasn't he going to kill her here? Or somewhere else? "I thought—"

Her next words were cut out when he suddenly grabbed her waist and threw her over his shoulder. A gasp escaped her lips as she faced his back in one swift movement. Did he just seriously throw her over his shoulder? She began protesting, punching his back repeatedly. But he seemed unconcerned, barely even feeling anything. Was he even human? His back was like a stone. Even her hands were hurting from punching it.

He walked her out of the house and she saw him taking her inside a black truck. He placed her inside and followed after her. Once she was seated, he blocked her path and she backed away in an instant. The doors' locks clicked and the car started to run. She had nowhere else to go.

She felt her hands turning to fists by her sides and she looked at him with a glare. "What are you doing?"

"What does it look like I'm doing?" he retorted. "I'm taking you with me."

"I thought you're going to kill me."

"That's not happening on my watch."

She scoffed in disbelief. So the agreement earlier, it was to take her away and not kill her? Wait a minute. "Who's driving?" she asked.

Isabelle looked at the front seat and saw the guy from before managing the steering wheel. He waved back at her with a sly smile when he caught her looking at him. Isabelle rolled her eyes, turning to look at the man beside her. "Where are you taking me?" she demanded, hands turning to fists.

He looked at her then, his eyes now colored in golden brown. "Where you belong."
