The truck stopped after almost an hour and Isabelle could see a large mansion over the horizon surrounded by large walls. The sky was starting to darken and she could see see the sun preparing to set. The view so beautiful and even the warm lights of the mansion were now illuminating the whole place with brilliance and warmth. Alpha Jaxon got out from his side of the truck and opened her door within a moment.
As Isabelle walked out of the vehicle, he looked at her, watching her reaction. She couldn't even look at him without getting angry. It seemed only a few hours ago her life was perfectly normal and now everything had changed in the blink of an eye.
"Welcome to my home, Isabelle," Alpha Jaxon stated, saying her name with a deep gentle voice yet again. It felt as if he was truly welcoming her. But deep inside, it felt as if she was being welcomed to hell.
"Am I going to live here?" she asked, looking at the whole mansion in amazement. The whole place ran for a hundred miles that it could fit a whole town. She didn't think someone could be this rich and blessed in life.
"You don't have a choice," he replied. "You're basically dead to your father now. He's got nothing to worry about. No mouth to feed but himself. You won't talk to him anymore nor see him. I forbid it."
"And why should I obey you? I'm not your slave," she retorted defensively. It saddened her to think what he was saying could be true. What if she was going to live here forever now? What if she wouldn't ever get to see her father again? Was this her reality now?
"Your father agreed to give you away," he answered with a tinge of distaste in his voice. "He's not a real father. Just a weak old man who can't even take care of himself. You should be glad I took you away. But now that you're here, you live under my rules and you have no right to disobey. If you ever violate our deal, you shall face a great punishment."
She crossed her arms over her chest, raising her head at him. "I'm afraid I don't agree to that, Alpha Jaxon," she bit back, calling by his name, the way her father called him.
"Go ahead and leave this place," he challenged. "Wild beasts wander outside these walls and you'll be eaten before I could catch you. You have nowhere else to go. You're mine now."
Isabelle resisted the urge to blush. He said it so brutally that it made her think of something else. But what exactly did he mean when he said she was his? It didn't sound like a good thing at all. Yet she could feel her stomach feeling funny. She might be getting the wrong idea. Was this his way of telling her that she was going to be his slave of some sort?
"I'm not going to be your slave." And she would certainly not do whatever he'd ask her to do.
His face was neutral as always. Even when she was already getting upset, he didn't seem bothered at all. "You're free to do as you wish, Isabelle. No one's stopping you. So long as you don't go past the walls of this mansion."
"So I'm basically your prisoner?"
"No."
"What then?"
He walked a little closer to her, towering over her little height and looking down at her pretty with a look of longing. She couldn't even understand it.
"Perhaps you can be more than that."
She scoffed, utterly in disbelief of this man. "Who do you even think you are?"
"You'll find out soon enough."
And with that, he nodded to someone behind her abs turned around, leaving her seething in anger. She couldn't believe he just said that. Once she saw him entering the door to the mansion, she heard another voice speaking behind her. "This way, Ms. Jones."
Isabelle looked at her side and saw the other guy from before gesturing for her to follow him. Seeing his face clearly more, she could say he looked kinder than Alpha Jaxon and more approachable. Sighing, Isabelle nodded her head, agreeing to follow him. He led her inside the mansion and she froze on her steps, captivated by the beauty of whole place. Everything looked so elegant yet so simple with dark colors. It clearly was a man's house.
"Beautiful, isn't it?" the guy asked, seeing her reaction.
Isabelle nodded. "What's your name again?" she finally asked. She couldn't keep calling him the other guy in her head.
"Jacob," he answered with a smile.
"Oh, Jacob. You know, you look a little bit similar to Alpha Jaxon."
He chuckled. "Yeah, he's my older brother."
Her eyes widened in surprise. "And you're the only ones who live in this very large mansion?"
"Not really.. I have six brothers."
"Six?!" she exclaimed. No one ever told her she was going to live with seven men under the same roof! She hadn't even lived with a guy close to her age. Let alone a lot of them.
He looked amused. "Don't worry. You'll get the hang of it once you get to know all of them."
"I'm not even sure how long I can live here."
"You'll like it here," he assured. "You can ask for anything you want. And if you ever feel lonely or sad, you can always talk to me."
"Thanks, I guess," she murmured, glancing around the walls.
He then proceeded to lead her up the stairs and walk her to a long hallway which then ended to a large door. Opening it, he revealed a large room that looked unused and just cleaned.
"This will be your room."
"Wow," she gasped. All of this? For her? She couldn't believe it. This was thrice the size of her own bedroom.
She heard Jacob's low chuckle from behind her. "You like it?"
Isabelle looked at the whole room once again, thinking whether living here along with seven brothers under the same roof was a great idea. A lot of things could happen and she wondered what her future would become. Only time will tell.
