Chapter 3
Laura Estevan, a seventeen year old girl. Currently attending ‘A’ Elite High School and will be graduating high school this year. She is from a high profile family, meaning her family are super rich. A week before, her family report her missing when her mother notice that she did not return home when the driver went to pick her up at school.
The driver said that the young miss informed that she will be returning home late because she will be staying late at school , something about ‘cramming’ for a test with her friend and that friend will send her home. Her mother wait for her daughter but she did not return until the next morning. That is when a report for her was filled.
Now, a week later after her disappearance, her body was found at her school's clubhouse. Lying at the center of the room.
Eden Stronghold walk near the medical examiner that was checking the body, “What the cause of the death doc?”
The medical examiner stop what she was doing and look towards Eden, “From the initial result that I can give is that the cause of death is due to multiple blunt force trauma towards her head.”
“What about the time of death?”
The medical examiner tilted her head, “Hard to say right now, looking at the condition of the body maybe approximately 3 days but it could be more. I can only give accurate result after the test at the lab. For the full result, you have to wait until the body get to my lab.”
Eden nodded to the medical examiner.
Jack approach Eden, “Base on the report, the one that found the body was the other four of this club member when they came to meet together at noon during recess. They were CCTV installed at the hallway but it only pointed at the hallway entrance and there was no CCTV pointed at the door of the clubhouse.”
“Check the CCTV and see who went to club house this past week. Anyone suspicious, carrying anything suspicious, doing anything suspicious. Have you taken the statement of the other four club member?” Eden asked.
"All of them say that they usually hag out at the clubhouse after the morning class. Accept them, no one have the access to the club house. It need fingerprint access to be able to open the door and because of that they didn't install CCTV here because only with their fingerprint can open it and there is no other entry to the club house" answer Jack.
Then Kevin approach the two of them, "I've check the CCTV from last night until noon today, there were nothing suspicious happen. No one accept from the four club member enter the room. The recording have been collected and will be brought back for the IT team."
Eden nodded with a frowned. All of this was weird. No other entry to the room accept for the door that need fingerprint access. From the detective report there were no way someone enter with a body without getting caught on the CCTV.
How on earth did the body can get inside the club house?
Entering the eleventh floor, the light at the hallway was also still on, but all office doors were locked already. Eden did not go to the autopsy room, instead he leaned on the Medical Examiner’s office door waiting while thinking deeply about the case.
Half an hour later, light footsteps from afar were heard nearing. Eden narrowed his eyes to look. The Medical Examiner, Doctor Sara looking exhausted went out of the autopsy room. Closely following behind her and wearing a tired face as well, was her assistant. She was holding a box of evidences on her arms.
“How are things? Is the autopsy report ready to come out?” , Approaching the office just now, they immediately stopped! Seeing the energetic Eden leaning against the doorframe, Doctor Sara's assistant wailed, “You’re too much! It’s middle of the night, it’s 3:00 o’clock in the morning!”
Eden lightly arched his eyebrow, smiled and said:, “And so?”
Feeling defeated, Doctor Sara's assistant dropped her shoulders and reluctantly replied, “So you wait for a while, I’ll go and finish it. The report will certainly be out before dawn!”, No wonder you and Doctor Sara can become good friends, these two people are both workaholics!
Looking at Doctor Sara’s assistant drooping head as she entered her office, Eden laughed, raised his voice and said, “Thank you very much!”
Doctor Sara opened her private office on the opposite side, Eden immediately followed her inside, before she could open her mouth, Doctor Sara with her unique low voice unhurriedly said: “What, on this long night you’re not in the mood to sleep ah?”
“Screw you!” , giving her a sideways glance, Eden lightly pat her shoulder, chuckled low, “May I say Miss High and Mighty, I’m here and you have a case to explain to me!”
Narrowing her eyes lightly, Doctor Sara with her sluggish voice, yet always clear and cold, said, “Like I said this evening at the school, the cause of the death was because of the multiple blunt force trauma to the head. To be specific one hit at the back of her head and 5 hit at the left side of her head. But the time of death is actually 8 days. Her body was well preserve because the decompose condition of the body didn't match the days of her death.”
Eden frowned, "So that means she was killed at the night she went to the clubhouse. Is there no other strange things about the body when you did the autopsy that indicate the body was cut or anything?".
"No. Except of the wound that cause her to death, the body was well preserve,", Doctor Sara said. "Why do you ask about her being cut?".
"It really puzzle me. From the CCTV at the school, at the night she went missing, she indeed enter the clubhouse but she was never seen exit the clubhouse. When we search the clubhouse before, nothing was found. But now, she was found death inside that clubhouse and from the CCTV no one suspicious enter the clubhouse. So, how exactly the murder hid the body?", Eden explain.
"Well, her body has no other obvious injury. Speaking of suspicious, from the pattern of the blood stain from the scene, the victim body is placed precisely as when she died and we also might have found the weapon that the murderer used to kill her. After waiting the laboratory to examine it, it will be submitted to you.", Doctor Sara replied.
