Chapter 6
At the forensic lab on the eleventh floor, Dr. Sarah’s assistant, Karen is explaining her discovery about the CCTV recordings to Eden and jack.
“When checking the video recording, when I adjusted the quadruple speed to 0.5 times the speed, at a certain point, there were traces of splicing on the video.” Karen than show the recording on the monitor, adjusted the video with 0.5 times the speed and replayed it to Eden and Jack.
When the video reached at 22:10, the screen jump a bit and then returned to calm again.
“I’ve also check the video on the hallway at the stairs, ahead of this time there was also such traces. But this is just a conjecture, if the content can be restore, it can be prove that the CCTV video have been tampered.” Karen continue.
“Is this can be done? Replace a piece of a CCTV video” Jack asked.
“It’s difficult but not impossible. If the person know how to decipher the password of the main server, connected to the main server, they can retrieve and change the video at will. They just need a small program.” Karen explained. “But I’m pretty sure there is no possibility the video can be restored. If the person have the ability to do this, the original video must have been destroyed.”
“And I’ve also check the four fingerprint you give me and correspondent them to the fingerprint found on the items found with the victim. It’s all a match.”
Karen bring out four bags and each of them contain each of the item.
The first bag contain a small rouge box, “For this item, the fingerprint matches with Cecelia Anderson.”
The second bag contain a necklace, a pink pear shaped pendant, “And this very expensive Harry Wiston’s necklace, OMG!” Karen screams and after calming herself, “It matches with Adeline Jacquin’s fingerprint. And I beg you to hurry and find the culprit, I don’t have a heart keeping this expensive necklace. If it’s lost, all of our neck will be lace.”
The third bag contain a filmstrip, “This one matches with Adam Daxton.”
The last and fourth bag contain a small notebook, “The last one matches with Jaden Callahan.”
“It matches the other four club member. Should we call them for questioning?” Jack asked.
“Call all of them for questioning.” Eden replied.
If this really going to involve this people, it is not going to get any easier.
“How about the room inside the clubhouse, any traces?” Eden asked.
“What I can say is that room is clean. Except for the smell, you can say that the suspect really do a hell of a good job on not leaving anything or that room is just a coincidence, have nothing to do with the case at all.” Explain Karen.
Even the secret room was found, the four of them would probably did not know it existence and even if the CCTV video could be say have been tampered but it can also be counter by saying monitor's circuit problem. What can be used right now is the items found have connection with them.
If the murderer is targeting them, their life is in danger but what exactly can a teenager that not yet come to age do to get themselves being a murderer target?
At a certain cemetery, a funeral ceremony is in session.
Funeral ceremony for Laura Estevan. All of her relatives and friends came to see her for the last time.
After the coffin was brought down to its resting place, one by one, the attendant throw in the flower in their hand into her resting place.. Then one by one, they left the cemetery compound.
At that place, four teenagers is seen leaving the cemetery. This four eye catching teenagers is the four club member that was discuss before by Eden and Jack.
Adam Daxton with his film camera excitedly taking pictures. Cecelia Anderson walking with a hand mirror in hand adjusting her hair. Adeline Jacquin with her hands warp around Jaden Callahan left arm walking side by side.
Cecelia snap close her hand mirror, “I should take a photo before I leave and post in on my social media.” Cecelia hurriedly take out her smartphone and start posing while taking several pictures. Checking for suitable picture, she then open her social media to post on her moment.
“You shouldn’t do that. It’s not appropriate and you’ll be scold by your agency.” Jaden words halt Cecelia fingers that is typing.
Cecelia look at Jaden frowning, “It’s only a picture. What’s the fuss?”
“If Jaden say it’s not appropriate then it is. Jaden’s always right.” Adeline said.
“Tch, fine!” Cecelia put away her smartphone, “I’ll just kept it for memory.”
“You must have goodnight sleep that Laura is gone right.” Adam snap a picture of Cecelia.
“What did you just said?” Cecelia look angrily at Adam and make a gesture as if she want to hit him.
Adam moved back a few steps, “Good, good. Show more of that expression.” Adam continue to take picture.
Holding out her hands to the camera lens, “Could you stop taking weird picture of me and stop antagonize my live stream. I’m warning you. I’m almost mess up!"
“What can you do? People really need to see the real you.” Adam said.
“Whatever pervert. Talking about Laura, doesn’t you fancy her? You don’t seem heartbroken at all” Cecelia asked.
Adam shrugged, “Who fancy her?! She’s the one that always leeching all over me. I just follow the flow.”
Cecelia and Adam laughing out loud.
“Don’t talk about her anymore.” Jaden suddenly said.
Cecelia and Adam immediately close their mouth.
“There’s a spot empty. Should we find someone to fill it?” Adeline asked.
“Find. That spot, we’re not suitable to handle it.” Jaden answer her.
Adeline smile sweetly to Jaden, “Alright.”
‘Ding’ Adam phone receive a notification and when he check it, he cursed. “My dad said that the police call the four of us tomorrow to attend questioning at the police station regarding Laura’s case.”
“What?! Aren’t they supposed not be able to call us for questioning?! Why suddenly?!” Cecelia ask in shocked.
Adeline look at Jaden worriedly. Jaden caress her cheek and smile, “Just go, no worries. You all know what to say and not to say.”
With that said Adeline feels reassured and lean her head against Jaden arms. Cecelia and Adam only nodded understand.
Reaching the parking lot, Cecelia and Adam went home riding their own transportation. Jaden bring Adeline to her car and then she also went home. Only after Adeline’s car disappear from his sight that Jaden approach his own transportation.
The driver open the door for him. While Jaden enter the car, his sight caught something that halt his movement.
“What is it young master?” The driver asked.
Jaden did not answer and sit inside the car. After closing the door, the driver get into his seat and drive his young master home.
Not far from where Jaden car park, a silhouette of a person can be seen approaching coming from the direction Jaden sight caught something.
