Chapter 7

At the ‘A’ state police station, a nanny car could be seen entering the station. After the driver stop the nanny car in front of the main entrance of the police station, wearing their school uniform, Jaden, Adeline, Cecelia and lastly Daxton exit the car. Today they have come here for the questioning about the murder case of Laura Estevan.

Jack receive all four of them and settle them in a room before they are call into the interrogation room one by one. The four of them is brought not as the potential suspect but as to help the case. Each questioning last at about an hour for each student and why is that? The higher up of the police order it that way. Question them not more or less than an hour!

Eden could only follow and ask to them the important questions only.

His first question, “At the night of 19th April at approximately 22:00 until 23:00, where were you and what did you do at that time?”

Jaden answer, “My father and I was having dinner with some other congressman.”

Adeline answer, “I usually have piano recital class at this hour at home.”

Daxton answer, “Playing online games at home.”

Cecelia answer, “At my agency practicing dancing.”

Eden other question, “Does Laura have any enemy or recently make enemy with anybody?”

Jaden answer, “It’s hard to say.”

Adeline answer, “She have a strong character so not many students or people fond of her.”

Cecelia answer, “That bit... I mean… She always make enemy when she open her mouth.”

Daxton answer, “Never really care about her, how I would know.”

Eden then show the photos of the secret room found in the clubhouse, “Do you have any idea about the existence of this room?”

Jaden only give the photos a glance, “No idea.”

Adeline a little shock scrutinize the photos carefully, “I don’t know at all. This is my first time knowing about it.”

Cecelia look shocked and scared while looking at the photos, “This is so creepy and I spent half of my day there.” She embraced herself and shivered.

Daxton look at the photo and throw he photo back on the table while sneering, “What, you’ll think I have anything to do with Laura’s death? Please, I spend my time in that clubhouse like one hour a day playing games. Where do I have a time for this things?!”

Eden then brought out the bags containing the items where their fingerprint matches, “Do you recognize this item?”

Jaden look at the bag containing a small notebook, “Yes. My personal notebook. I lost it before.”

Adeline widened her eyes seeing the necklace, “My necklace! How do you get it? I’ve even file a police report when it went missing.”

Cecelia also shocked, “Mine! It’s my rouge box! How? I was so sad when I lost it at school. Did you find it on Laura? She stole it. I knew it!”

Daxton not interested at all, “It’s a filmstrip. Why show me this?”

Eden tell them, “This item was found with the victim and you fingerprint was on it. When exactly did you lose it?”

Jaden answer, “Two days after Laura’s went missing.”

Adeline face turn pale hearing it, “What? With Laura? I think it was two days after Laura’s went missing. But at that time there was a commotion happen in school and someone snatch it out of my neck during the commotion.”

Cecelia look disgusted, “That have contact with a death body! OMG…Eww… I like it so much. When it went missing I search everywhere and everyone lockers, I even got scolded by my teacher. It was two days I think, after Laura went missing.”

Daxton only laugh a little, “Come one, I run the school photography club. I’ve bunch of those and I’ve touch bunch of it. Why it have to be mine? The club didn’t even have a lock. Everyone can enter freely and took it.”

There were not much time to ask many questions. After the last person was interrogate, four hours have gone by. The four of them left the police station after finishing the questioning.

“They all don’t look like they were friends with Laura.” Jack said to Eden.

“For me honestly, all five of them are not truly friend with each other. It is more like they were together to get benefits from each other. It just that, Laura was not well like.” Eden said.

“Anyone suspicious to you?” Jack ask.

“I’m suspicious about Daxton but more skeptical about Jaden. There was no different in his expression throughout the questioning. He is so hard to read.” Eden said. “For now, start first with Daxton.”

Jack nodded, “Ok.”
