Chapter 7
Dani -
I talked everyone into heading out earlier, to pregame, so I would have the house alone.
Marisala was the last one to leave.
We chatted a little, and she helped me set up the gazebo in the back yard.
Right at five thirty I started to fix us each a plate.
The doorbell rang, and I felt a large grin spread across my face.
I open the door to see her nervously clutching a small backpack on her shoulder.
She raised her head and met my smile with one of her own.
‘Hi there pretty girl. Come in please. Sit your bag anywhere.’
She hung it by the rack by the door as I closed it.
I couldn't help myself.
‘I know I said I'd behave and everything, so stop me if you want, but I....’
Something about the look she gave me.....
I couldn't help it.
The next thing I knew, my body pinned hers to the door as we exchanged a powerful yet delicate kiss.
I lifted her by her muscular thighs and carried her to the kitchen.
I wanted to carry her up to my room.
Or even to the couch in the living room.
Instead I took her to the counter, gently sitting her down.
Khloe: ‘That's one hell of a hello.’
‘You should see me ask how you're doing.’
She smiled and we both leaned into another kiss.
I brushed a bit of hair behind her ear and looked into her golden green eyes.
‘I was just fixing our plates. Thought we could eat in the gazebo next to the koi pond.’
Khloe: ‘Sounds and smells great. What can I do?’
‘Take that open bottle of wine over there out back and pour us each a glass. I'll be out with our food.’
She nodded and I pecked her lips before she got down.
I bit my lower lip, watching her walk away.
Once the plates were loaded I headed out, grinning as I approached her.
She was sitting there looking nervous, but happy.
I sat the plates on the table and turned to let the insect screen down.
‘Relax sweetie. I can't say I don't bite, but only if you want me to. Anyways, raise a glass with me?’
Khloe: ‘For what?’
‘Right now, I'm pretty damn grateful for that bad band on your watch.’
She just giggled, raising her glass so I clicked mine to it gently.
‘I'm really glad you didn't blow me off, too.’
Khloe: ‘I'm sorry about this morning, but I just...’
‘Hey, whatever it is, it's ok. I'm honestly just happy this morning wasn't the last time I got to talk to you. So, you're leaving tomorrow. Any chance you're coming back soon?’
I picked up my silverware and motioned for her to start eating.
Khloe: ‘Yes actually. I always come for my friends birthday since we have the Friday before exams off. So I bring part of my stuff this trip, and everything else a week later. I stay the summer every year.’
‘So you'll be back in a week, for the whole summer? Tell me you go here in the fall and I won't be able to control myself....’
