Queen Hospital

Queen Hospital, L.A.

Callista parked her car in the hospital parking lot. She got out of her vehicle and walked straight into the lobby of the hospital. Today is an unlucky day for Callista. How come? She was pulled home when she had just finished examining patients. She doesn't know how many people saw her being towed home by her dad. If it weren't her dad who pulled away, Callista would have broken the arm that dared to pull her out.

Since childhood, Callista has indeed been stubborn. She doesn't like to have her parents always arranged for her. Don't want to fight or rebel. She wants to determine his longtime dream. Yes, although sometimes she had to argue with her dad.

Callista walks into her office, but when Callista steps in, she heard a voice screaming her name. She turned and looked at her friend Olivia who was running over to her.

"Callista, where have you been?" asked Olivia, who is now standing in front of Callista.

"I think you know, this morning, my dad dragged me home," replied Callista.

Olivia chuckled. "It's all because you don't want to go home. So your dad came straight to you and dragged you home. But believe me, your dad looks so handsome when he dragged you."

The incident when Callista was forced home by Michael was indeed the center of the patient's attention. Not only that, doctors and nurses are also paying attention. Because she is famous for her beautiful face and assertive trait, she's mixed Indonesian- Californian blood, making Callista so well known. Despite having Asian blood from her grandfather, Callista has no had an Asian face.

Callista pursed her lips. "Don't talk about nothing. I just success to escape from my house. My head dizzy, dealing with my family."

"I know, of course, you have been asked to lead your family company, right?" guessed Olivia.

"If you already know it, then shut up!" said Callista, who was annoyed.

Olivia took a deep breath. She knew her best friend very well. Callista has no interest in lead her family company. Since childhood, Callista's dream was to become a doctor. Callista always let Jessica, her sister, to lead the company. She believes that if her sister can lead the company well.

"You know, Callista, your sister, is going to get married soon. Of course, your dad expects you to help him lead the company," said Olivia, reminding her best friend.

"I also knew my sister would get married soon. But she's not married now. I'm sure my sister is great. She is very capable of leading the company very well. So, I don't think she needs my help," Callista replied in a slightly lazy tone. She didn't want to hear about this anymore. Enough arguments with her dad to give her a headache.

Olivia grunts in annoyance. "You're so stubborn, Callista!"

"Come on! Don't be noisy. You don't know, my family's bodyguard was holding me. I'm sure once my dad gets to Paris, he'll call me immediately," said Callista, who still feel annoyed. Her mind wandered, imagining her dad's anger.

Olivia shook her head. "It's your fault, why don't you go home. You like living in an apartment. Your mansion is so luxurious, why don't you like living in your mansion? If I had a mansion like yours, I don't think I'd be out of my house."

"If you want, you can live there. I don't want to live there. You know, my dad set up my life too much. He never even agreed I'm a doctor," said Callista. No one agrees to be a doctor. Mostly, Michael—her father, prefers Callista to lead his business.

Olivia grunts. "Don't talk about nothing. We're better off going to the café to make your mind more relaxed. Drinking hot chocolate at night, I think it's delicious." Olivia deliberately invites Callista. Of course, her purpose is to make her best friend much calmer and not overthink her problems.

"You're right. Hot chocolate will make me calmer," replied Callista.

Olivia smiled. She immediately hugged Callista's arm and walked towards one of the nearby cafes with the hospital.

Callista stretches her neck a little. Today she feels so tired, and she has to deal with her dad's bodyguard. She believes that Michael has arrived in Paris, and when he knew her daughter, not at home, he will drag her again back home. But Callista doesn't care, at least right now, Callista could be free.

After examining the patient, now Olivia and Callista are leaving the hospital, heading for the nearest cafe. The location of the cafe is not far from the hospital, so Callista chose to walk.

When Callista dan Olivia arrived at the cafe, Callista took a seat at the end by the window. Then Olivia ordered hot chocolate and cheesecake for them. The taste of eating sweet food made her calm.

Not long after, the waiter delivered the food Olivia had ordered. When the hot chocolate was served in front of Callista and Olivia, they immediately took the hot chocolate and started sipping the hot chocolate in their hands.

"Callista, are you still thinking about Thomas?" Olivia asked carefully. She didn't want to make her best friend remember her past.

Callista shrugged her shoulders. She couldn't understand whether she was still thinking about Thomas or not. "I think when I meet him someday, I no longer know him. Is he still as handsome as before? "

"Maybe he's more handsome. But I believe he has already left Los Angeles. I no longer see the Thomas family here," said Olivia, carrying the cheesecake in front of her to her mouth.

"Yes, I already know he must have left Los Angeles since we were in high school," replied Callista.

Olivia sighs deep. Then she stares into Callista's eyes. "Do you still miss Thomas?"

"I think you're crazy, Olivia. I liked Thomas when we were in high school. I'm not even sure when I'll see him again whether I remember him or not," said Callista. "You also know I don't like getting into complicated romantic relationships. Enough of this, just my sister, who wants to get married soon. I want to enjoy my time first."

"But you've never had a boyfriend, Callista. Try to open your heart and start to fall in love with other men," said Olivia, who disagreed with her best friend's words.

Callista has never been in a relationship with any man. That not because she can't forget her first love. But indeed, she prefers not to have complicated romantic relationships. For Callista, being alone and enjoying life like this makes her much calmer. She often sees Jessica arguing with Adam and sometimes making Jessica unable to focus on the company. That's what makes her reluctant to get into a relationship. Maybe someday and not now.

"What about you? After your boyfriend betrayed you, many years ago, but you remained alone and didn't want to open your heart to others," said Callista. Olivia always asks Callista to open her heart to other men, but her past still overshadows her.

Olivia sighs slowly. "I'm different. The scars he's given to me are too deep. I don't want to open that scars again. I love being single."

"I've never had a boyfriend, but didn't I tell you to forget about that damn guy? Your life is too good to remember that man. I don't want you to have to think about that man. There are still many men who like you," said Callista emphasized.

"Alright, I don't want to talk about it. Next week I want to take you to one of my friend's nightclubs. Do you want to come with me?" Olivia asked, choosing not to talk about men anymore.

"I can't drink alcohol, you know it. After all, what's in your mind? we're doctors but come to nightclubs," replied Callista.

Olivia snorted in displeasure. "You think doctors aren't human? We also need to have fun. Don't worry. I'm not taking you to drink alcohol. I can't drink alcohol either. We just come to my friend's club. I'm not feeling well; he already invited me to come. "

"Yes, yes, fine, I'll accompany you," replied Callista, who finally agreed to Olivia's request.

The smile on Olivia's lips was etched with joy when she heard that Callista finally wanted to accompany her.

"We'd better go back to the hospital now." Callista glanced at the watch in her hand. She couldn't possibly leave the sore rash for too long.

Olivia nodded. "Yes, you are right. We'd better go back now."

Callista asked the waitress for a bill. After Callista paid for the meal she and Olivia had ordered, they immediately walked out of the cafe and back to the hospital.
