CHAPTER

She knew Jacob had a shocked look on the possession of the ring in her palm. His intense gaze was on the ring. She tilted her head and raised her eyebrows at him.

"Madam Daisy Elliot. She designed this ring, the red diamond indicates the blessing she bestowed upon the children of Elliot Family. The red diamond was a part of her wedding ring, she cut the original diamond into five parts and then designed them into five different rings. A wedding that failed, yet she thought that it will bring good luck to her children's love life. You see she was a hopeless romantic.", she chuckled as the old memories of the said woman resurfaced in her mind, the never ending spirit even at her deathbed.

Jacob sighed, "How did you lose it, Eva?"

"I....."

Looking at Evangeline hesitation, he continued, "Eva, this is your ring."

"I know. It was Irina, who saw the ring on my finger and...", her eyelids dropped as she was ashamed of losing the precious ring that Jacob proposed her with.

She looked at the lovers with a small smile. Jacob, her eldest cousin, had find someone he could be his real self, a person who wasn't after his money or his status.

"Anyway.", she interrupted, putting the ring on the table, she pointedly looked at Evangeline, "Don't lose this ring to anyone, for my mother had made this for the future wife of Jacob. Please keep it safe. And also...", she stood up from her seat, and faced them, "You're both invited for dinner tomorrow night in the Elliot Mansion.", her warm gaze scanned bother her cousin and his fiance, "It was nice meeting you, Evangeline. By the way, I'm the sister of Jacob, Willow Elliot."

She left the lovers with a wave. Exiting from the apartment she climbed down the stairs. She walked down the street, looking around the neighbourhood her cousin stays. She was fully aware of the black SUV following her. She walked for a few steps and then halted, letting the SUV to stopped before her. She opened the passenger seat and placed herself on the seat, putting on the seatbelt. The car began moving in a comfortable speed.

"How did it go, Young Miss?"

"Well, now Aunt Cecilia owe me a favour."

"Young Master has agreed.", Secretary Paul said more to himself.

"Secretary Paul, are you done with what I asked you for?"

"Still in progress, Young Miss."

"Earlier the better."

................................

"She is your sister?"

Jacob nodded with a smile, taking the ring from the table and observing the ring, "She is my cousin."

His cousin, his only sister, the only thing that changed was her physical features, otherwise she was same girl he was once over protective about. But things changed, his decisions had put a distance between him and her.

"Don't mind Willy. She can be blunt with her words, but she is doesn't mean any harm."

Evangeline nodded her head, and stared at the small smile on Jacob's face, the way he talks about his sister, they might have a very good bond.

"You never mentioned about her before."

Jacob looked into her eyes apologetically, "I know, when I think about them, it also reminds me of what a failure I'm. What a disappointment I'm to them."

...............................

"Auntie dear, your son will be home tomorrow night."

"I knew you could do it, Willy.", her aunt's smiling voice said.

"Yeah. And also his fiancee is coming too."

"Fiancee?"

"Ask your son directly."

"Jacob Elliot.", her aunt coldly growled under her breathe, "You are coming home too."

"No."

"Yes. Don't argue with me, kid. And also send Alan to my office, I have some work for him."

"Alan?"

"Yeah. For the charity event, send him fast."

"Alright."

After talking with her aunt for sometime, she called Alan to her office.

"Young Miss.", Alan slightly bowed.

"Alan, go to my Aunt's office. Help her with the preparation for the charity event. Handover your work here to someone else."

"Alright, Young Miss. Anything else."

"No, that'd be all."

After Alan left, she began reading the documents infront of her, she hated doing the desk job, but she tolerated it since it was her decision to take over the Adama Jewellery. She played with her pen as the jumble of words filled her mind.
