Summoning her to serve
Arnav Mathai nodded and said “Yes, Vicky. Usually, he busied himself in partying in a club with friends for the whole night, but these days he goes very rarely to the club. A few days back I found him buying lots of medical aids.”
Atharv looked at him narrowing his eyes and asked shortly “So?”
Puzzled, Arnav Mathai furrowed his brows and asked “Don’t you find odd? Why he needs that much of medical supplies? He is not a medical student neither he is an owner of any clinic. And more of it, the man who always liked to party with friends and beauties, suddenly changed. Don’t you feel something wrong?
“What is wrong with that?” Atharv sneered. Standing up, he continued saying “As you know, our old man is getting really old and he needs constant medical support to stay healthy, they need medical supplies ready at the mansion. It is good that Vicky is becoming responsible and taking care of the old man rather than partying. I don’t find anything odd in this.”
Sighing, Arnav Mathai shook his head and leaned back on the seat. He was about to say something but he heard Atharv saying “Don’t distract your mind from the main target. You need to find out Vivek Ahuja and also keep eyes on Veer. I don’t trust him a bit. I suspect he knows Vivek’s whereabouts. I hired you to track on Veer, not on Vicky.”
“But you need to…”
Before Arnav Mathai could finish the sentence, Atharv raised his hand and interrupted him “Enough… Don’t come here again. If you want to meet me then we can meet in another place but not here. Now go, before Veer sees you.”
Nodding, Arnav Mathai left the office without a word. After looking at his leaving figure for a few seconds, Atharv buried his head in work.
In the evening, after finished working, he directly drove back to his mansion. On the way, he looked up at the tall building of ‘Exotiq’. Suddenly he turned around the car and drove to the hotel. After parking the car, he thought for something holding the steering wheel. His expression was pensive and his solemn gaze was fixed somewhere ahead. After brainstorming for some time, he opened the door and walked inside the hotel.
The moment the receptionist saw him, she came to an alert and greeted him politely. Atharv only nodded at her and directly strode to the private dining room. The receptionist immediately informed this to the manager and within a few minutes the manager was standing in front of Atharv. While waiting for his order, the manager’s knees went soft and his legs were wobbling continuously, fearing that Atharv might take action against him for last night’s incident. Atharv didn’t pay any attention to him. He even didn’t look at him. His concentration was on the menu. After sometimes he said, “Send Navya.”
“Huh?” Puzzled, the manager stared at him, mouth agape.
Atharv slowly lifted his head. His sharp gaze roved over the manager’s face a few times and asked “Why are you still here?”
“Um…” The manager blinked and closed his mouth. He stammered “I-I will se-send her now.”
Wiping his cold sweat, he walked out of the dining area. While looking for Navya, he saw her serving food at a table. He walked to her and said in a low voice “Come with me.”
Navya looked up at the manager and nodded before following him. The manager said “Go to the private dining room now. CEO is waiting.”
Navya’s heart thumped loudly and her face turned pale immediately. Swallowing hard, she asked, “Why me?” Looking around she continued “You can send someone who is more experienced than me. Don’t you remember what happened last night?”
Her gaze then shifted to him. The manager looked down at her coldly. From his expression, it was clear that he was not at all happy hearing her. Navya looked down instantly, pursing her lips into a thin line.
“Don’t waste time. Go there right now. Don’t make him wait for a long time. Otherwise, he may get angry and the consequences will be not good for all of us. Understood?” The manager said those words in a harsh tone yet not loudly.
Without delay, Navya strode to the private dining room. There she saw Atharv’s very intimidating handsome figure sitting on the sofa placing one leg over another. He was wearing a navy blue suit which made him even more attractive. His black hair was neatly combed and his deep brown eyes were directly staring at Navya. Navya’s steps froze in the track the moment she met his eyes and for a few moments, she couldn’t tear her gaze from him. She could swear on her life that she had never seen such a handsome man before. Her heart was pounding inside her chest.
Just then, she heard his frosty voice “Why are you standing there? Come here.”
His piercing gaze focused on her black eyes. Navya felt oppressed under his penetrating gaze and immediately lowered her eyes. She actually wanted to run away from there, but how could she offend him? Lowering her head, she walked slowly to him and stood in front of him. She asked in a low voice “What do you like to eat, Sir?” Her eyes were fixed on the tip of her shoes.
His sharp gaze wandered over her face as though he was searching for something. After sometimes he said, “Sit down.”
Navya lifted her gaze and stared at him, brows furrowed. Before she could process anything, he held her left wrist and pulled her down. She plopped down on the sofa beside him and a short scream escaped from her mouth due to pain in her hand.
Frowning, Atharv looked down only to see her hand wrapped with a gauge. She was holding her wrist tightly to endure the pain. Tears were seeping through her eyes. He asked warily looking down at her hand “What happened?” He immediately held her hand and looked down at it carefully.
“It’s nothing. I- I accidentally hurt my hand.” Her voice was as low as a whisper.
Atharv stood up instantly and summoned “Come with me.”
Panicked, Navya asked looking at him “Where?”
Atharv was not happy at all to see her questioning his decision. Glancing at her through his shoulder, he asked sternly “Do you want to come by yourself, or do you want me to carry you all the way till parking?”
Navya immediately stood up, feared to think that he might carry her without hesitation. How could she let it happen? Wasn’t it embarrassing? Her colleagues won’t stop gossiping about this. Lowering her head, she followed him obediently.
Atharv got in his Mercedes and started the engine, but Navya remained rooted near the car, lowering her head.
Annoyed, Atharv winced and rolled down the glass of the passenger seat. He asked “Why are you still standing there? Do you need an invitation to get in the car?”
Navya opened the door and got in the car without delay. Atharv was daggering his sharp gaze at her. Suddenly he leaned over her. Navya panicked and leaned back on the seat, looking at him, eyes wide opened. ‘What is he trying to do?’ Just then she saw him pulling the seat belt and buckling it up. He then sat on his seat properly and started driving the car.
Navya’s heart was beating faster and her eyes fixed on the road, mouth slightly opened. What did she think just now? It seemed that her imagination went wild for a few seconds. He was only helping her to fasten the seat belt, but what she thought? She shook her head slightly for her stupidity. ‘Stop overthinking.’ She murmured in her mind.
