The kidnapping
Once Navya went inside the apartment, the person took out his phone from his pocket and dialed a number. The call connected after a few rings and the man informed “Boss, just now someone dropped Navya home. She came out from a Mercedes Benz.”
The phone was disconnected immediately the moment he finished speaking. He shouted a few times “Boss… Hello… Hello…”
Flabbergasted, he looked down at the phone for a few seconds then a wicked smile appeared on his face and murmured “Navya, you are done.”
Navya was standing in front of her flat, looking at the closed door. Panic and horror mixed in her expression. She was thinking, surely Pushpa would scold and beat her. Her throat was dry and her legs were wobbling. After hesitating for a while, finally, she pressed the doorbell with her shaky hand. She swallowed hard while waiting for the door to open. A few minutes later the door was opened by Pushpa. She was yawning widely and asked, “Who are you pressing the bell at late night?”
But her eyes widened to see Navya in front of her. She had no idea when Navya went out. Pushpa thought she might have slept in her room. Navya lowered her head and remained standing there biting her lower lip. Just then she heard Pushpa’s scolding “Do you want to make a scene? Why are you still standing here? Come inside.”
Navya quickly went inside and headed towards her room, lowering her head. She wanted to lock herself in her room as soon as possible, but she heard Pushpa’s cold voice “Wait…Where are you coming from? Are you already started selling yourself?”
Navya’s step froze in the track. She lifted her head and looked forward. Her ears were buzzing. She didn’t think that Pushpa would use such words for her. Tears welled up in her eyes and dripped down through her cheeks. She heard her again “Why didn’t you answer me? Has the cat got your tongue?”
Navya knew that if she didn’t answer her, then she won’t leave her so she said slowly “My hand was paining, so I went to the hospital for a check-up.”
Pushpa didn’t believe her. She snorted and asked “Oh… Now you started lying also. Did you go to meet your rich boyfriend? If he is that rich then why don’t you ask him to give us some money? In that way, our problem can be solved.”
Stunned, Navya turned back and looked at her in disbelieve. How could she say like that? She didn’t know that Pushpa would say something like this. Still, now she had no idea why she owed that amount of money from Monty, and now to pay back him she was asking her to borrow money from her rich boyfriend. Though she didn’t have any such boyfriend, still she felt disgusted by her words. Irritated, she said “I am telling the truth. If you don’t trust me then you can talk to the doctor who attended me just now.” She was looking straight at her eyes.
Pushpa didn’t want to believe her but in her gaze, she didn’t find any lie. She twisted her mouth and walked to her room without a word. Navya was annoyed. She glanced at her leaving figure through the corner of her eyes and stood there for a few seconds before she went inside her room.
The next day in the afternoon, after finishing her classes, she headed to the bus stop to go to the hotel. While walking on the pavement, a speedily approaching van halted near her and two-man came out of it. Within a blink, they grabbed Navya’s arms from both sides and shoved her inside. The van started running very fast without delay. Navya cried out for help and struggled to get out of the van, but the two men were holding her arms very firmly. She didn’t know who they were as they covered their face with black cloth and only their ferocious-looking eyes were visible.
“Help…Please someone help…” She screamed from the top of her voice.
One of them, slapped her hard and she could feel the metallic taste of blood inside her mouth, but still, she didn’t stop screaming. Irritated, the man slammed his fist on her head hard and she immediately lost her consciousness. Her senseless body fell on the lap of the other man.
The van then headed to an isolated area, but just then a BMW blocked the way. The van halted with a jerk. The two men came out of the van and walked to the BMW. One of them knocked on the window and the glass rolled down slowly. A handsome man’s smiling face came in front of their eyes and they heard him saying “I saw you kidnapping a girl. Hand over her to me before I get down from the car.” He was still smiling at them.
One of them threatened him “If you want to live then go away from here. Otherwise, we won’t hesitate to kill you.”
The handsome man laughed softly and asked mockingly “So you will not listen to me then. OK, let me introduce you, who I am, and what I can do.”
He opened the door and came out of the car. The two men charged on him together immediately but both of them fell on the ground before they could attack him as he punched on one man and kicked on another. His movement was so swift and fast that they couldn’t get time to react. He then beat them until they lost their senses. The driver of the van was scared to death and ran away from there.
The man then walked to the van and opened the door. His jaw dropped and his eyes widened when he saw Navya. She was lying on the back seat senselessly. He murmured “Isn’t she Atharv’s girlfriend Tina?”
He was puzzled and stared at her for a long time, speechlessly. He regained his senses when he heard the siren of the police van. The police officer came to him and asked “Where is the girl?”
He pointed at Navya and showed it to the officer. He said, “I will take her to the hospital.” With that, he grabbed her bag and carried her to his car.
After nearly one hour of driving, he reached the city hospital and took her directly to the emergency wing. He sat down on a chair placed in front of the emergency room in a daze. His mind was buzzing and his expression thoughtful. After that incident, this was the first time he was seeing her. That night Tina fell from the terrace in front of his eyes and he couldn’t stop her from falling. He clearly remembered each moment of that night.
Flashback…
During that welcome party, Veer received a call from an unknown number. Frowning he looked down for a while and then answered “Hello.”
He heard Vivek’s voice from the other end “Veer, you need to talk to Om Bhai and convince him to withdraw the case. Dad won’t refuse him and for me, you need to do this.”
Flabbergasted, Veer asked “Where are you, Papa? Tell me, I will come to see you.”
“Veer, this is not the time to get emotional. Go and talk to Om Bhai. I called him just now and told him to come to the terrace. Go there and talk to him. If I could come there then I personally have talked to him but now you have to do that. Do you understand?”
After hesitating for a while, Veer finally agreed with Vivek and walked to the terrace.
