Are you a spy?

Frustrated, Miraya waved her hand and complained “You are not answering any of my questions and continuously looking at them. What makes your attention diverted from me to them?”

Atharv completely ignored her and looked back at Navya who was still looking down on the ground. He got frustrated to not able to see her face properly. Losing his tie, he picked up the glass of water and gulped down till the last drop. His eyes were never leaving Navya.

By then, one waiter came carrying the serving tray. He came to the table and started displaying the foods. Nishi walked towards the table but Navya remained standing at the same place. Nishi held her wrist and pulled her along. Navya stood just behind Nishi. She was too nervous to stand in front of Atharv. After displaying the food, the waiter bowed to them and left. Looking at Navya, Atharv called her “Hey you come here and serve the food.”

Navya closed her eyes and prayed secretly it shouldn’t be her that the CEO summoned to serve the food. But she was proved wrong when she met his eyes again the moment she lifted her gaze. Clasping her skirt tight, she stood there motionlessly. She again heard him calling “Why are you not coming over here?”

Navya flinched and stepped back. Gritting her teeth, Nishi cast a meaningful look at Navya and signaled her to go forward, but to her surprise, Navya didn’t move at all other than staring at Atharv with wide eyes.

At that time, Miraya looked at Navya up and down coldly and couldn’t help but ask “Why are you still standing there? Don’t you know how to serve food?”

Navya's gaze drifted to Miraya and opened her mouth to apologize but before that Nishi grabbed her arm and pushed her forward. Swallowing hard, Navya tried to look confident and mustered a smile. How could she mess up in front of such important guests? Taking a deep breath, she started serving the food and tried to not look at Atharv. She was too scared of those deep brown eyes. The way he looked seemed that he was staring directly at her soul.

Though Navya was not looking at him, she could feel his burning gaze on her. She was serving the food confidently wearing a half-smile, but only she knew how terrified and nervous she was.

Miraya’s fists were tight under the table to see Atharv looking intently at Navya. Though she was sitting in front of him, he didn’t look at her properly but he was busy staring at a small waitress. This thought was enough to lose her control. She wanted to punish Navya. Crossing her arms over her chest, Miraya leaned back and asked “Pour me a glass of water.” She said those words looking coldly at Navya.

“Yes, Ma’am.”

Navya poured water into her glass and continued serving the food.

But she heard Miraya again “Why didn’t you pass me the glass? Do I need to tell this also?”

Atharv tore his gaze from Navya and looked at Miraya knitting his eyebrows. He couldn’t understand why she was demanding that. Smiling, Navya picked up the glass and passed it to Miraya, but Miraya intentionally didn’t hold the glass properly. The moment Navya released her hand from the glass, it slipped down spilling the water all over on Miraya’s dress. Infuriated, Miraya’s jaw fell apart and stood up instantly. Navya was shocked and tried to apologize but before she could say anything, a slap landed on her left cheek. Nishi, who was standing not far from there, instantly covered her mouth with one hand. Immediately five fingers mark imprinted on her delicate cheek. Navya’s eyes widened and looked at Miraya who was glaring at her. She heard her saying furiously “You filthy waitress, can’t do your job properly? How irresponsible you are?”

Miraya looked down at Atharv and asked “Atharv, fire this waitress right now. She is not a professionally trained.” Showing her dress, she said again “Look, how she ruined my dress.”

But Atharv didn’t pay attention to her. His eyes were fixed on Navya’s slightly swollen red cheek. He stood up abruptly, held Navya’s wrist, and walked out of the dining area without a single word.

Miraya was calling him from his back “Atharv, where are you going? You can’t leave me alone like this.”

But he didn’t stop and was walking with long strides holding Navya’s hand. Navya was almost running to match his steps and before she could regain her senses they already came out to the parking lot. Holding her arms from both sides, Atharv pinned her against his Mercedes Benz and asked “Who are you?”

“N-Navya…”

“Full name.” He raised his voice slightly.

“Navya Mehta.” Her voice was shaky.

Atharv then looked at her curiously. How could be two people look so similar? It was impossible if they were not identical twins, but he knew that Tina didn’t have any siblings. Was it a miracle or a plan by his enemy to harm him? When he thought it might be his enemy’s planning, he lost his composer and the grip around her arms tightened. Grinding his teeth he asked, “Are you a spy?”

Stupefied, Navya looked at him furrowing her brows. ‘Spy?’ She was only a small waitress. How could he think of her as a spy? This CEO was very dangerous and he could prove east as west. She couldn’t afford to offend him. Horrified, she shook her head vigorously and said lowering her head “No…No… I am not a spy. I am only a waitress. Please let me go. I am sorry for what I have done inside. I will not repeat this, please forgive me.”

His grip tightened more. Navya felt like her bones were crushing down and she hissed in pain. Tears slid down through her cheeks and said in low voice “Please, let me go.”

Atharv’s didn’t listen to her. His grip didn’t loosen a bit and threatened “Think carefully before you speak. It will not take long for me to find out your identity. If I find out that you are with my enemies then no one can save you, so better tell me the truth now. I may consider sparing your life.”

Navya looked up at him timidly with her teary eyes. Shock and horror were clearly visible on her face. With a shaky voice, she said “I am telling the truth. I am not a spy. Please believe me.”

Atharv looked at her eyes carefully to find the truth. Other than horror he couldn’t find anything in those eyes. Looking at her for a long time, he finally released her. Navya didn’t delay a second to run away from there the moment he released her.

The moment Navya ran away from there, Atharv took out his phone and dialed to Karan. “Fine out the details about a waitress of our hotel named Navya Mehta. I need the details by tomorrow.”

He said those words as soon as the call connected. After getting confirmation he walked inside the hotel again.

Navya’s heart was thumping uncontrollably. She just escaped from the lion’s mouth. How terrible he was. His gaze was enough to slay her into pieces. If she could then she would resign right now, but the salary was good and she needed this job to provide fees for her brother’s medical studies. Pushing down the fear at the bottom of her heart she walked into the hotel to resume her work. But once she entered the hotel, the manager called her and started scolding “How irresponsible you are. Do you know how important was our guests? You dare to offend them. What have you done with the fiancée of our CEO? Not only that, you dared to flirt with him in front of her?”

Navya tried to explain but the manager was shouting and scolding her continuously. “You dared to offend the CEO and his fiancée. You are not eligible to work here anymore. I will fire you right now.”

Navya pleaded “No, no… please don’t do this. This job is very important to me. Please don’t fire me.”

But the manager didn’t pay attention to her pleading. He grabbed her arm and pushed her down.

“Ah…”

Navya cried out but before her body could hit on the ground someone caught her and prevented falling. She looked up instantly only to meet one pair of deep brown eyes.
