Chapter 6 (part one)
After few months of the wait, Dalia finally wrote her jamb and Aced it. Daddy gave Muhsin the responsibility of Dalia's admission.
As she waited for her admission into Nile University, every Saturday or Sunday she went to his house to help his wife with the house chores. Sometimes the driver came over to pick her up when daddy was back from work early and sometimes muhsin was the one that takes her home.
Months later, she was offered admission; Microbiology. Even though that wasn't the course she wanted, she was still glad about moving further with her education. And it was a great achievement for her.
The next day after finding out she had gotten admission, daddy informed Dalia to get ready, she was going to visit her mother before he left for work with the driver. She got ready and excitedly walked out of her room. She went to the living room and met muhsin conversing with amira's mother. They both turned their heads to look at her. Mommy gave her a displeasing look and looked away.
She greeted them both but Muhsin was the only one that answered. "I will be the one to take you home, daddy went to the office," he explained as he rised up from the sofa. She slowly nodded and followed him out of the house.
Mommy picked up her phone from the centre table as she furiously dialled Amira's number. "Where are you now?" Her mother asked the moment she answered the call. "I'm at home mommy, what's wrong you sound... different," she observes her mother's tone.
"I want to see you right now, and don't waste my time." She ended the call and dropped the phone back on the table. Even though she knew talking some senses into amira was a waste of time, she wouldn't stop telling her the truth and what might happen.
She was still in the living room when amira finally showed up. "Mommy I'm here, what's wrong?" She asked while plumping down on the two seater. "When are you actually going to have sense, amira? How many times will I talk to you about your husband and this girl? It has reached to the extent that he was the one looked for admission for that rascal and you did nothing about it."
Amira glances upward, her mouth pursed but slightly opened and loosed. Her eyes was fixed on mommy as if she was going to get more information about what her mother meant. "Mommy I honestly don't see anything wrong in this. Why are you turning it into something huge? All what he's doing is because of daddy asked him to and you know I have no right to stop daddy from doing what he intends to. If you really care about it then you should speak to daddy and ask him to stop sending my husband to do whatever concerns that girl."
Her mother stared at her, stunned. The audacity this girl has to speak to her that way. "Is that so, Amira? It has reached to the extent that you'd talk rudely to me? Alright then, I have officially removed my hands from everything concerning your marriage. If you like don't change and take care of your husband," she concluded and left the living room.
Amira shrugged her shoulders as she fetched her phone from her denim jeans pocket.
On their way to Kuje, he stopped by at a supermarket to get her mother some food stuff like daddy asked him to. After they were done shopping, they set the road to Dalia's home. She was so happy to even try hiding her joyous expression. Her mind was set to see her mother and tell her the good news. It's been just two months since she last visited her but it felt like a year to Dalia.
