She is afraid

In the CEO’s office:

Aaron entered his office. He placed a file at his table and started reporting.

“Sir I have been investigating the man from last night. He is Dylan Tyler. Age 28 years. You know sunshine entertainment, right? He is recently appointed as the CEO of that entertainment company. He is the total playboy. He change his girlfriends like clothes…….”

“Tell me his relationship with Carissa”. Noah interrupted him.

“He does not have any relationship with Miss. Carissa now knows her step-mother Mrs. Zak, he is very close with her. His mother is the best friend of Mrs. Zak from school days. When Mr. Dylan was 20 he raped a girl so his family sent him to Sydney, and it’s been a month since he is back.”

Something flashed in Noah’s eyes. “Raped? Who is the girl?” Noah asked, looking at him.

His instincts were continually telling him that it has something to do with Carissa.

“About that….. I could not find it. They have completely wiped out all the evidence without leaving any loophole. I even took help from a professional to restore the data but it was impossible. I am sorry to disappoint you. ”

“Keep an eye on him.” Noah ordered Aaron.

“Yes sir.” With this Aaron left the office.

Noah was feeling very uncomfortable. He looked at the file that Aaron gave him. But there were no traces of the girl. Maybe Carissa was asking for accommodation because he is back and he will definitely visit her house and Carissa wants to keep a distance from him. He thought.

His eyes were red from anger. Noah clenched the gold pen in his hand so hard that it broke in two pieces. The veins were bulging from his hands and temples.

He suppressed his emotion and indulged in work. When Aaron came to ask him about lunch Noah asked him, “Have you arranged an apartment for her?”

“Yes sir, in Chorlton”.

“Never mind. Give her my apartment in Alderley Edge”. His voice was authoritative. “And bring lunch for two”.

Aaron was stunned today again. He is giving her his apartment. Something is seriously wrong with him nowadays.

But he cannot question his decisions at all. This never happened before that Noah takes a wrong step. So, ultimately Aaron has full trust in his decisions.

With a lot of questions in his mind he left the office.

When Aaron left, Noah took his phone and typed something.

On the other end today, Carissa does not have any appetite so she did not go for lunch and was working in the office. Her phone beeped and she took it to see the message.

“Come to my office”.

Carissa does not know the number but after reading the message she knows who the sender is.

“I am busy”. She was in no mood to argue with him.

“Are you coming or should I drag you out personally?” the message came in the next second.

He is really too dominating, Carissa thought. The only choice was to go to his office obediently.

She got in the elevator and tapped her card as she saw Aaron doing it yesterday and went to his office.

She knocked softly on the door.

“Come in”. He commanded from inside.

When she stepped in, he raised his head to look at her. For a second he could not recognize whether she is Carissa or not.

Her beautiful eyes were red. He frowned looking at her.

“Why did you call me?” She came straight to the point.

“What happened?” He ignored her question.

“Nothing”. She spoke in a low and soft voice.

Meanwhile, Aaron came with lunch. He was stunned to see Carissa in the office.

“Miss. Carissa how did you come here?” Aaron could not help but ask.

Carissa was getting frustrated. “What do you mean?”

Noah glared at him and signaled him to get lost.

He did not speak again and quietly left. Actually, Aaron was stunned because the elevator operates with only his or Noah’s card. Noah must have changed the setting and gave her the authority to use it.

“He is really not himself from yesterday”. Aaron murmured.

Inside the office,

“Have lunch with me”. His voice was gentle.

“I don’t have an appetite”. She rejected him.

“I will take my promise from yesterday back”. He spoke while sitting on the couch pointing at the promise that he will let her have an adventure if she will listen to him.

She smirked, “Do whatever you want”. Her voice was cold and stern.

Like really. For those adventures, because of which she ran from home and obediently started to work here, today she is saying she doesn’t want them.

Carissa turned to leave. Noah immediately stood up and held her wrist firmly.

At his touch her eyes changed. They were filled with fear, hatred. Her body trembled.

Noah was unable to analyze what was happening with her. She tried to pull her hand from his, but his grip was tight.

“Leave me…..” Her voice was shivering, “Now”. She shouted and a tear dropped from her eye.

Noah right away left her hand. His heart ached at the sight of her.

Carissa ran away from his office slamming the door behind.

She is not tough, she pretends to be tough to fight with her fears, to survive.

Noah made a fist of his hand with which he held her and clenched it tightly. In the next second, he punched it at the door so hard that the blood started to drip from his knuckles.

He made her scared and this was his punishment. Aaron ran inside as he heard the noise. His eyes were getting darker and darker. He was looking very terrible. It won’t be surprising if he kills someone right now.

He looked at Aaron engulfing his body, “LEAVE!!!!” He was like an angry wolf.

Aaron left immediately.

Noah took deep breaths to calm himself but his blood was boiling more.

“DAMN IT”. He cursed under his breath.

Meanwhile, Carissa ran to the restroom and locked herself in there. She was also unable to scrutinize her emotions. What she was feeling, she doesn’t know.

After sometime Carissa came outside and washed her face. When she was calmed down, Carissa went back to her department. Everyone was back from lunch break. She went back to her seat and started to work. But she couldn’t concentrate at all. Her head was hurting like someone was hitting nails in it.

Carissa also started to feel bad for behaving rudely with Noah.

She was in her own thoughts when someone tapped her desk. She raised her head to look at the person.

He spoke politely and softly, “You look like a totally different person today.” He gave her his best smile.

“Freedom of choice maybe”. She replied plainly.

“But I think I like the wilder you”. He was teasing her.

“Whatever”. She rolled her eyes at him.

He smiled at her, “You did not tell me your name yesterday”.

“Why should I? By the way what are you doing here? As far as I know you don’t work here.” She was getting irritated.

“I came here for a meeting”.

“Then good luck Mr. Harrison you must be getting late”. She tried to chase him away.

“They can wait”. He replied carelessly.

Harrison Luis is an economist, 31 years old. And works as the financial director at the Whites Empire.

He is known as the true workaholic and rarely talks about anything besides work.

People are getting to see his new side thanks to Carissa. She is changing the ice kings in no time. Female employees were looking at her with envious looks.
