Her Cruel Life
chapter one _ Her Cruel Life
"Not another word from you Carmen. Get the hell out of my house!" Richard yelled flippantly at Carmen as he threw her already packed lugged at her chest angrily.
"Please dad, where am I to go if you chase me out by this uncivilized hour of the day?" Carmen asked crying heavily striving hard not to be pushed out by the strong force of her step-sister.
"That's not my problem, I don't want you in my house anymore, you're a trash. I want you off my property" He blurted out at his only child getting angry. He walked to and fro with his right hand on his forehead.
"Will you just please leave nicely before we call on the cops?" Her wicked step mother joined in kicking her out while her stepsister was still trying her best in pushing her out.
"Please! Please!! Please!!!" Was all Carmen could uttered in tears. Her step mother also kicked her outside making her leave the main door.
Zina flicked her tongue at her and jammed the door on her happily.
"She's gone honey, the witch is finally gone. We have the home to ourselves now" Her step mom said cupping Richard's right cheek in her left hand moving her lips directly to his own.
"Mum, the troublesome girl is gone" 15 years old Zina muttered pointing to the door. They never looked back to her, they were happy to have her out of the house.
The cold night breeze penetrated into the pores of her skin, making her feel cold. The night was dead silent.
Only the sound of an insect could be heard. Carmen quivered with cold as she held her bag containing her clothes.
She trudged along the road walking to no place in particular, tears cascaded from her eyes profusely.
She wept like an infant pleading to be breastfed.
The thought of how her father and wicked step mother drove her out of the house came heavily upon her.
She wondered why her father has left her to wander in this ungodly hour of the night.
What has she done to warrant all this?
Why has her father decided to be cruel on her?
She could still remember vividly how it all happened. She lost her mother to the cold hands of death due to her father's foolishness.
Her father married another woman, after he had promised to love her mother alone. Her mother died of cadiac arrest.
After the cruel death of her mum, her father and her step mum treated her inhumanely.
They hated her for no reason, even her step mum's daughter which she had for another man was way younger than her but she had to obey her to avoid the cruel side of her step-mom.
Her step sister, Zina, just 15 years old bullying the 21 years old Carmen, but she had nothing to do about it.
Sounds of footsteps truncated her trails of thought. She shuddered with fright.
She raised her head and saw a figure advancing towards her. She was alarmed.
Instant sweat broke out on her forehead as her legs ferried her to a corner.
From her hideout, she craned her neck and watched like a rat in it's hole. Her chest was visibly heaving.
When she waited for what seemed like ages and didn't see anyone, she came out of her hideout.
A rat scurried past her feet. She cowered , her heart skipped a beat.
Her eyes became as sharp as the sun and were vigilant to catch any upcoming move.
She plodded slowly as the fear of the unknown enveloped her. Soon, a flash of lightening came upon the sky and illuminated the night.
No sooner had the lightening occurred than a loud thunderclap arrested the tranquility of the night.
Again, a whirlwind began blowing, causing trees to dance to it's tune.
Carmen knew what all this signs were foretelling; it was about to rain. She prayed for the rain not to come down.
There was no place around she could have a roof over her head, but she still hurried to look for one.
Certainly, she was going to be drenched if the downpour occur. For the umpteenth time, she wished that the rain doesn't fall.
To her dismay, suddenly and like a bolt from the blue, the rain came heavily upon the earth as if the sky couldn't contain them any longer.
She felt her prayers wasn't answered. A sad grimace was manifested on her face.
Why has the rain refused to cooperate with her?
She was further dejected as she thought that even the elements of the earth hated her.
Luckily for her, she sighted an uncompleted building up ahead of her.
She heaved a sigh as she felt a burden had just been lifted off her shoulder. Quickly, she raced to the building like a mad cat in wide chase of a prey.
She scuffed her legs into the building. At first, she was frightened.
There might be danger in the building, but where else could she go? Was it not better that she seek shelter inside the building than to be drenched in the rain?
She gave yield to the recent thought and proceeded into the building.
The building was a two bedroom apartment, so she thought the one to choose between the rooms.
Her leg ferried her into one of the room, she found a broken cupboard and a sheet of old carpet was lying beside it.
Carmen felt relieved. At least the room seemed safe. She dropped her bag and lay down sadly.
The sound of the rain beating against the aluminum roofing sheet was the only audible sound in the building.
She began to think of the event that has ushered her into this present predicament.
She perched beside one of the broken cupboard in the room. Tears began to well up in her eyes, but soon she fell asleep while crying.
•••Torture Room•••
He raised his right hand and the torture continued. The victim couldn't bear it, tears mixed with blood slipped down on his face.
His hair was ruffled and was already weak to do anything. His scream filled the air while one of the guards played staccato to suppress the audible noise.
The devil smiled wickedly, that's the only smile people could see on his face, he never smiled happily.
His body built biceps were killing and he has the perfect height meant for a man, 1.85m. His name is Sylvester Stallone, but the people named him 'demon' 'devil'.
He killed his two sisters who betrayed him and his nearest brother who was given birth to after him.
Even his parent feared him but they tried not to show it, the only person he had feelings for was killed. And that's his mother.
Since the death death of his mum, he never smiled, smirked or laugh happily again.
The person been tortured is Vardy, he's one of Sylvester loyal subject but he stole something precious to the devil.
He lighted his cigarette, smoked a little, he puffed it right in Vardy's face and smirked angrily.
He requested for a dagger, and it was given to him by Lincoln, his most trusted guard.
"Any last word" Sylvester growled as he thrusted the dagger into his heart slowly.
"I... I'll help... you greet your... mother in the after... life... " He managed to say before he finally gave up the ghost.
He washed the blood off his hand and mop away the water with a handkerchief.
"Throw him in the street" He whispered to Lincoln coldly before exiting the room.
Surprised!!! Sylvester has no compassion, not for anyone, he's just a rough, fearless, dangerous guy.
His main work as a mafia, he lives to kill and kills to live. He also transports drugs and also involved in human trafficking.
He put on his jacket as he set his eyes on Vida Dela-Torres, his damn slut, a popular celebrity.
He wrapped his right hand round her waist drawing her closer and locked his lips with hers, it lasted for ten minutes until Lincoln came in without knocking.
Sylvester knew the news must be urgent so he decided not to scold him for it.
"Richard Rooke requested to see you" Lincoln announced bowing slightly and dare not raise it up without his boss order.
"That old man, is the gift ready?" He asked himself as he changed into a wine jean and a buttonless shirt.
"I don't think so, I heard he chased her out of the house" Lincoln replied regarding of what he heard earlier.
"The girl is his biological daughter, I wonder why he hate her so much. Well, I'll help him teach her what cruelty really means" He smiled wickedly as he muttered each words.
•••••••
Carmen exited the building to look for a safer place in the morning. Right as she came out, she saw about four men with masked faces. They were all clad in black.
Fear enveloped her. Her eyes veered from the men to the guns encamped by the men.
"Run! Run! Carmen Run!" A voice barged into her head.
She knew instinctively that the men were after her. She ran as much as her legs could carry her.
Momentarily, she heard the sound of a car behind her, she was so afraid until she saw Micheal alighted from the car. Micheal was her father's driver.
"Hop in quickly, master wants you back" Micheal said with a suspicious look as he opened the door for her to get in quickly.
How could her father who threw her out for no reason suddenly want her back?
"It's a trap, they want to kill me finally" She thought aloud in her head as hot tears cascaded from her eyes profusely.
But the men running after her left her no choice but to follow Micheal ......
