Chapter 06 "She will be mine"

The events in my life showed me that life could be as bad as it gets. Life was complicated, and living this life would never be easy. Being a gangster wasn't easy; I had everyone's respect, and everyone bowed their heads when they passed by my side, but I felt like I was small to myself. I woke up, ready to leave.

I had kissed her, I couldn't hold back anymore. I couldn't stand looking at Elena's lips without touching them. Not for another moment. She didn't show any reaction. She didn't even have time to show it. But it seemed like she reciprocated, even though I thought she hated me, and not without reason. I had simply restrained the girl and threatened her with a gun.

Before breaking the kiss, we heard knocking on the door. I grabbed the gun and asked her to stay quiet because I didn't know who it was. I had to protect myself and her at all costs.

I wanted her to be my woman. And she would be.

I wasn't inexperienced when it came to women. But I had certain requirements for the perfect woman, let's say, for a mafia boss. So far, I had only had one who matched my tastes, but like all the others I had known, she only wanted my money, my power, and the status of being a mafia boss's woman, a powerful man. I just wanted to have a signed check with a lot of money at the end of the month to spend on clothes and food.

Elena seemed sweet and different. She was independent, had her own opinions, and, above all, she was very talented. She also brought back sweet memories of my childhood with my mother. I wanted her, and when Damon Corleone wanted something, no one could take it out of his head, except myself.

Without even waiting for Elena to open the door, several men in black entered and pinned Elena to the floor.

I recognized them; they were the employees, so to speak, of my uncle and mine.

I got a big fright; I thought they were my enemies once again. I was still dizzy; my injuries hadn't fully healed yet.

The leader of the group came to check on my physical condition and greeted me.

"Buongiorno, signore. We came at the request of your uncle. He asked us to come and save you and also to check on your call. Are you okay? You're all wounded, we need to go quickly before someone else shows up."

"If I'm okay, Tiago? You guys are useless, goddamn it. You took too long, arrived too late. I faced ten guys on my own; there was no other way. I almost died, damn it!" I rolled my eyes and paced around the room. "You're paid very well, very well to be by my side when I request you."

"Apologies, boss."

He lowered his head and apologized. My fuse was very, very short; I couldn't stand slow people. What was necessary had to be done, simple as that. One mistake was fatal.

I was very dizzy, had lots of medication, and, on top of that, an itch that I didn't know where the hell it came from. My wounds were aggravated; I was feeling a little or very sick. I was already used to this life; it wasn't the first or the last time I took a bullet.

Elena observed everything. In her gaze, it seemed like she was seeking answers. Unfortunately, I couldn't let her go; I didn't trust her. She could easily betray me for everything I made her go through. And also because I have some plans for her.

It wasn't news to anyone

that a mafioso needs to start a family, have a wife, children, and blah, blah, blah.

I never thought much about it; in fact, I'm already at the age for it, so why postpone the inevitable, right? And I found the perfect princess for it. I was interested in her, in her body, her eyes, and her mannerisms, and I wanted her to become Elena Corleone, my wife. I would conquer her little by little. I knew that.

My father always made it clear that I would be his successor, and that I would marry a loyal, good, and very beautiful woman, just like my mother was.

"Tiago, take her back with you. I'm not feeling well. Keep her safe, and don't lay a finger on her unless necessary. Take her blindfolded, and confiscate her phone and any communication devices she has. I had already taken her phone, but check again, please," I gave the final order and passed out. I was still too weak.

She looked at me with a disgusted look, as if she didn't understand why I was doing this.

They took her blindfolded, as I had ordered, to the place where we would stay for a while. I asked them to blindfold her so she wouldn't memorize the route. The orders were to put her in a cell; unfortunately, it was the only way. I needed to know if I could trust her before offering my trust for free. Nothing is free.

I arrived home and took a good, long shower. I asked one of the maids to help me change the bandages; I wasn't completely fine yet. I would request a doctor, our private doctor. Deep down, I wished it was Elena here, helping me and taking care of my wounds. I wanted her, and I could envision myself calling her my wife.

After the shower, I walked out wrapped in a towel, drying my hair with another towel. I brushed my teeth and lay down on my huge double bed; I needed to rest a bit. I left my men to take care of Elena. I didn't want her in a cell, but unfortunately, it had to be this way.
