Chapter 2 You Succeeded Tonight
Six years later.
Vista Heights.
"Anna, Seine International's guests called again, your takeout hasn't arrived yet?" Anna's best friend urged on the phone.
Carrying the takeout, Anna walked through the complex maze of single-family mansions for a while until she finally found number 99.
"I'm here, just found it."
"That's good. The customer's voice sounded cold over the phone. He was so rude and sounded so conceited. The person living there must be someone important and untouchable. Be careful when dealing with them."
"Okay, I will." Anna hung up the phone, standing in front of the door, she rang the doorbell, deciding that once she delivered this order, she would go home. everyone in this building was rude and conceited.
The luxurious electronic door opened, and she froze at the sight of the man standing inside the door. He was handsome and sophisticated, with a face that was unforgettable.
Giorgio!
He was actually here!
What should she do?! She thought she would never see him again after he left years ago, but now they had unexpectedly met! And like this. How should she face him? After all that had happened. After that fateful night. Surely, he must hate her.
Giorgio's gaze also landed on Anna, his eyebrows slightly furrowing.
The woman in front of him was wearing a knee-length black skirt, resembling a uniform, with a white lace apron over it. She had a beautiful figure, with a hint of temptation.
In the ten years he had known her, he had never seen her dressed like this.
"Change of style? Hmm?"
Ah? Change of style? What style?
Anna was confused, but quickly remembered what her sister had said: even if she encountered him, she had to pretend not to know him. She struggled to calm her emotions and lowered her head.
"Sir, here's your takeout. It comes to a total of 96 dollars. Please make the payment."
As she spoke, she handed him the takeout, hoping to finish the transaction quickly and leave. But the man looked at her with obvious interest, and he didn't make a move to take the food. Her small hand kept trying to pass it to him, but she couldn't seem to get it into his hand.
It felt as if they were flirting! The air was heavy with tension. Each hair on her skin stood on end. But that was just Giorgio’s charm. He had this air about him that did this to women. To her.
Giorgio felt a current flowing out of her hand and into his bloodstream. His gaze grew darker, and he grabbed her wrist, pulling her into his embrace.
"Role play? This is an interesting act. I like it."
Bang! Anna was caught off guard and stumbled into his strong embrace.
Oh God, he thought she was Katherine.
Panic-stricken, she struggled to push him away, "Sir, I don't understand what you're talking about, let go..."
As she struggled, she could smell the pleasant fragrance coming from her.
Giorgio's previously clear gaze grew even darker.
"Don't move," he reminded her in a low voice.
If she moved again, he couldn't guarantee what would happen.
But how could Anna not move?
She didn't want to have anything to do with him, and what did it mean to be held in his arms again?
She bit him.
The force was not light, but for a man, it was like a little kitten, adding fuel to the fire!
Giorgio's remaining senses and restraint broke through, and he raised his hand to grab the back of her head.
"Katherine, you succeeded tonight."
Boom!
Katherine! He mistook her for her sister again! No wonder...
Just succeeded? What does that mean?
"Mm!" Anna hadn't even fully come to her senses when the man's lips pressed against hers, with an uncontrollable aggression and dominance, engulfing her. His lips were soft but the kiss wasn’t.
She widened her eyes in astonishment. Had he gone crazy?
No, he was kissing Katherine. Her sister. His wife.
She felt uncomfortable and aggrieved.
Seven years ago, he mistook her for her sister and they spent a night together. It was a nightmare. Now, he was going to repeat the same mistake?
