Chapter 7 The Man Every New York Socialite Wants to Marry

Everyone wanted to catch his attention. Sebastian, however, had never been involved in any scandals. Yet, he suddenly appeared at the Wallace family mansion that had already been declared bankrupt, claiming that Isabella was his...wife?

Something seemed to click in his mind as he naturally crouched down and placed his fingers on her knee. "Are you feeling better?"

As if being struck by an electric shock, she took a step back and accidentally twisted her ankle in the process, causing her to fall backwards.

Sebastian easily pulled her back into his arms, his strong arms encircling her waist.

His thin lips brushed against her ear as he asked, "Do they always treat you this way?"

Isabella questioned, "And if I said they do, what would you do?"

"What do you think?" Sebastian replied. "Do you think I would allow anyone to mistreat you?"

"You seem to enjoy protecting me."

"If a man can't even protect his own wife, what face does he have? Besides," he raised an eyebrow slightly, "only I can bully you."

Upon hearing the conversation between the two individuals, Judy paled in fright.

"Mr. Lawrence," Judy's voice trembled, "I was only joking. I have always treated her like my own daughter, I would never bully her."

"Just joking?" Sebastian questioned.

Judy nodded vigorously, "Yes, yes."

She also subtly gestured to Isabella, hoping that she would say a few good words. Sebastian's gaze fell upon Sharon, "Is this your daughter?"

"Yes, yes," Judy seized the opportunity to speak up, "Our Sharon is also a good girl, gentle in nature, kind-hearted. She's no different from Isabella..."

Isabella sighed. How could there be such a foolish woman?

Why was Judy praising Sharon in front of Sebastian at this moment? Was she trying to make Sebastian take her as his concubine and gather all the Wallace family sisters under his wing?

"Hmm," Sebastian nodded, "She is indeed beautiful. Since your daughter is so wonderful, why not let her go on a blind date? Who knows, it might work out?"

Isabella never anticipated that Sebastian would punish Judy and her daughter in this manner.

When he mentioned the possibility of it working out, it was not just a mere possibility but a certainty!

Judy was dumbfounded, and Sharon's face turned pale in an instant.

"No! This can't be! Mr. Lawrence, Sharon...how can she marry that old man!" Judy exclaimed, "Her life will be ruined!"

Sharon also cried out, "I won't go! I would rather die! Mom, please think of a solution, help me! That old man is said to be a sadist, he will kill me!"

"What do you think?" Sebastian paid no heed to their pleas, his deep gaze fixed on Isabella, "Hmm?"

Isabella lowered her head, "It's up to you."

Judy fell to her knees in front of Sebastian and Isabella.

"Mr. Lawrence, please spare my daughter," Judy pleaded, "She is still so young, with unlimited possibilities for the future. She cannot be ruined like this. If she marries that man, her life will be over... I beg you..."

"Oh?" Sebastian raised an eyebrow, "When you asked my wife to go on a blind date, you didn't say the same thing."

"I...I..." Judy couldn't find any excuse and could only admit her mistakes, "I was deluded, I was wrong. I was blinded by greed. I apologize to you and Isabella. I will never dare to do it again!"

Judy's head was already bleeding from the impact of her repeated bowing, blood seeping down her contorted face, looking somewhat horrifying.

Sharon's cries and Judy's pleading voices intertwined, creating a tense atmosphere in the room.

The Hall was no longer like a living room; it resembled more of a purgatory.

"We will never dare to do it again, Isabella, Isabella," Judy crawled towards her, using both her hands and feet, trying to grab onto her clothes. "Say something! Your sister cannot be ruined like this!"

Isabella hadn't had time to dodge when Sebastian kicked her away.

Sebastian was renowned for being indifferent and merciless. Under his seemingly placid gaze, one could never fathom the depths of his cruelty.

In New York, there's a saying: "Don't mess with Sebastian, no matter who you are."

She looked up and gazed at Sebastian's cold profile. "Regarding this matter..."

"This matter is settled," Sebastian said. "Mrs. Lawrence, do you have any objections?"

Isabella dared not object. With her own safety at stake, she had no room to consider others.

After a few seconds, Isabella halted and closed her eyes. "I am powerless. Judy, we have brought this upon ourselves and cannot continue to exist."

Walking out of the villa, Isabella whispered, "I think... they went too far, but you didn't have to be so extreme."

Sebastian's face turned slightly serious, "Get in the car."

Isabella obediently climbed into the car and fastened her seatbelt. She pondered for a moment and realized that she might not be as charming as she thought.

Sebastian had gone to great lengths to help her vent her anger, yet here she was, cowardly and indecisive. She should be holding his hands and looking at him with admiration and adoration, satisfying his pride and arrogance as a man.

Or... should she give it a try?

Sebastian looked at Isabella, "What's wrong? Do you have a twitch in your eye?"

Isabella remained silent.

Forget it, Mr. Lawrence was probably an extremely typical straight man who had no understanding of these little feminine gestures, only knowing about business negotiations and decisiveness.

The car entered the Willow-brook Estate, a renowned mansion in New York, with its vast grounds, unique rockeries, flowing fountains, and a huge private swimming pool... It had everything one could desire.

The butler respectfully greeted them and opened the car door, "Mr. Lawrence, welcome back."

Sebastian went straight to the second floor, and there was no sounds after he closed the study door. Isabella enjoyed this leisure time, by herself and took a slow walk around the immediate gardens, exploring her new home.

Until the afternoon, when the butler said, "Madam, Miss is here."

"Miss?" Isabella repeated slightly confused.

"It's Mr. Lawrence's sister, Miss Amber."

"Oh..." Isabella said, "Should I call Sebastian to come down?"

"Madam," the butler looked a bit hesitant, "not only has Miss Amber come, but another guest has also arrived."

"Who?" Isabella asked in hushed tones.

"Grace."

It was that Miss Grace from the Turner Family who was well-known for chasing after Sebastian?

Isabella was puzzled, "Why did Amber come with Grace? Do they have a good relationship?"

If that were the case, Amber, her little sister-in-law, wouldn't like her!

"I didn't come with her. She just happened to come at the same time as me," Amber's crisp voice sounded, "Sister-in-law, I'm definitely on the same side as you!"

Amber turned her head and glanced at the door, "Grace probably hasn't come in... I had the security guard stop her. She's probably furious."

Only the Lawrence family's little princess would do such a thing.

Grace's father was an official, and basically no one would easily offend her, except for Amber, who had the guts.

"How dare you stop me? Are you blind or just ignorant of who I am?" I could faintly hear Grace's angry and sharp voice, "Move aside! Or I'll crash right through!"

"Who gave you the courage, huh? Is it your newly appointed Madam?”
