Chapter 2
After dinner, Fiona said she wanted to stay and sleep with me, but Kenneth carried her out.
"Such a young girl, not interested in finding a partner, and always clinging to others, what's the matter?" he said.
Fiona held onto the doorframe desperately and said, "I'm not leaving, I want to sleep with Cynthia. We've already agreed to be single for the rest of our lives!"
Kenneth stopped and glanced at me, saying, "If you don't want to find a partner, that's fine, but don't stop Cynthia. Fiona Bailey, if Cynthia's parents were to find out, how would I explain? Should I say that I didn't take care of my own niece?"
"..." I turned my head and rolled my eyes.
This man was something else – hypocritical and worse than a dog.
Only after his speech did Fiona let go of the doorframe, and she pulled me in front of Kenneth as if it was reasonable and justified, saying,
"Cynthia herself said she doesn't want a partner either, Uncle. Let us girls handle our own matters. When we're old, we'll find a nursing home full of young men, won't that be wonderful? Family, partners, they’d only be burdens for us."
I looked at Fiona, thinking this girl had some grandiose ideas. That kind of nursing home...
No, it would be paradise on earth!
Fiona pointed at my face and said, "Look, her eyes are shining!"
Kenneth's dark gaze turned towards me, and I immediately squinted my eyes pretending to be blind.
"Let's go; I'll escort you home. I have something to tell you," Kenneth said in a deep voice, taking Fiona away.
I sighed with relief. With both uncle and niece gone, my head could finally rest.
With Fiona here, it was either the harsh laughter from the TV or her incessant nonstop chatter talking that gave me a headache.
With Kenneth here, he wasn't noisy, but I... couldn't handle it.
I immediately closed the door and started running the bath, adding some red wine I had received from Kenneth. Such an expensive wine, I just felt it was better than essential oils, it must have its effects... psychological effects are still effects.
Humans were hypocritical creatures, weren’t they?
As I soaked in the bath, my eyelids began to droop, and in a daze, I suddenly heard the sound of the door opening.
I jolted awake and looked up to see Kenneth's tall figure walking in, loosening his belt as he walked. And in his palm, there really was a gray tie wrapped around it.
"......"
Nervous and excited, I sat up straight against the edge of the bathtub, asking, "Why are you back? Where's Fiona?"
"I sent her to her grandparents'. Kids don't know any better, they need their elders to discipline them." Kenneth's voice was hoarse, both soothing and enticing.
I swallowed hard. "But you're her elder too. Why don't you discipline her?"
"I'm your elder too," Kenneth smirked, raising an eyebrow. He looked like the devil himself. "Today, I'll discipline you properly."
"......"
The water in the bathtub rose and fell, until it all splashed out.
In the end, he dried me off and threw me onto the bed, tying a bow with the necktie around my wrist. He smiled at me, bewitching and enchanting. "See, I told you this necktie suits your skin, makes it look fair."
I refused to back down. "I think your complexion would suit my skin even better, Uncle Kenneth."
Kenneth laughed.
I panicked.
