Chapter 10

In one glance, I saw the bathrobe he was wearing, which made me disappointed. Right after, another person appeared behind him - Katie.

Although this was what I had long anticipated, it still made my heart tremble. I clenched my fist and struggled to put on a professional smile.

"Honey, didn't you say you missed me? So I came."

I feigned surprise and paused for a moment, looking back,

"You have a friend over, it seems like I came at the wrong time."

Kenneth remained silent, calmly looking at me. It made me feel a little embarrassed.

"Alright then, you continue your conversation, I'll sit next to you and promise not to disturb you."

I smiled and invited myself in.

"There's... nothing to talk about, now that you're here... then I won't disturb you, I'll leave first."

Katie seemed scared and immediately wanted to leave, out of embarrassment.

"Wait." I called out to her.

She was scared and trembling, tears welling up in her eyes. I looked her up and down, then my smile disappeared and I handed her a breakfast that I had bought.

"You haven't had breakfast yet, have you? I bought this for you."

She cautiously took the breakfast. She seemed scared stiff.

"Thank you."

"No need to thank me, you call Kenneth , so logically speaking, you should call me sister-in-law, right?" I smiled at her.

She glanced at Kenneth, who remained unimpressed, then furrowed her eyebrows and bit her lip, "Si...ster-in-law."

"Well, good girl."

I hooked my arm with Kenneth's and intentionally buried my head in his chest, pretending to be shy.

"I haven't seen your brother in a long time and I have some business to attend to, so I won't send you off. Come visit our house in Lake City after you go back."

Katie didn't say anything, she held the breakfast, wiped away her tears, and ran off. After closing the door, Kenneth lowered his head and looked at me meaningfully,

"Long time no see? Business?"
