Chapter 5

Also, I don't know how long they talked, but when I woke up from a nap, there was no one in the living room. The babysitter told me that Kenneth took her out.

"She may have caught a cold and was not feeling well, Master just..."

"Enough, I understand."

That night, I didn't eat much having lost my appetite. I took out my phone and repeatedly counted the zeros after the balance on my bank account, feeling restless. That day, Kenneth didn't return at all. I changed into high heels and a hot dress and went straight to the bar.

At the bar, my best friend Miranda Flores had been waiting for a while.

"No longer the noble lady? Just come here to get drunk?" she teased me.

"Yes, being polite all day long, making money is not easy."

Hahaha, she laughed while hugging me.

"Well, although Kenneth is handsome, it can get boring to see him every day.”

“Do you still have any contact with Ryan?" she asked me.

"No contact," I took a sip of my drink.

"Didn't you used to be crazy about him? The whole school knew about it. Finally, when you two got together, well now you're marrying someone else."

I remained silent for a while, "His mother approached me."

"Ah? Why did she approach you?"

"She offered me five million dollars to leave him."

Seeing the shock on Miranda's face, I couldn't help but laugh,

"You really watch too much TV."

"She didn't give me a penny, just said my father’s company went bankrupt and told me to be prepared. She said if our relationship was known by outsiders, it would affect their family's business."

"Damn, this is insane. What does your dad's bankruptcy have to do with your love life?" Miranda defended me.

"It does matter. Look, besides Kenneth's family, they are powerful, who else would want to marry me." I took a sip of my drink and continued, "I blocked him. Let's not talk about it anymore."

"Okay, tonight we won't talk about men, just look at handsome guys."

So my good sister sent me ten text messages with the pictures of handsome guys in half an hour. Halfway through the night, unable to handle my alcohol, a handsome guy hailed a cab and sent me home. I stumbled inside once I reached and try to turn on the lights. However, before I could reach the switch, I heard a sound from the living room.

"Having fun? Are you willing to come home now?"
