Chapter 4 Damien Talks about Raising the Baby
As the director and Amelia came in, Damien immediately stood up. "What's the result?"
Seeing the nervous yet hopeful look in the boss's eyes, the director couldn't help but smile. He handed the test report to Damien.
"I conducted two examinations for her in total, and it is confirmed that she is pregnant."
Amelia, with her head drooping, calculated in her mind that she was likely less than a month pregnant. This was because when she had sex, it was around a week after her period.
Damien held the examination report and carefully read it several times, even though he couldn't really comprehend it. However, there were medical instructions on it indicating that Amelia was pregnant.
He stared at Amelia for a long time, then his gaze shifted to her belly. Where was his child? This feeling was too unreal and caught him off guard.
After a while, he seemed to have composed himself and reached out his hand towards Amelia.
Amelia quickly stepped back.
She acted like a startled rabbit, instinctively evading him.
Damien gathered his brow slightly, wondering why she was so timid.
"Come, take my hand. Do you want to stay here?"
Amelia quickly looked up at him, took two cautious steps forward, and cautiously grabbed Damien's arm.
Damien led her away, and when they reached the door, he turned back and reminded the director, "Don't let this matter get out, including the Kingsleys."
Amelia followed obediently behind him, her heart aching severely. It wouldn't be long before the baby in her belly couldn't stay any longer.
When they were about to enter the elevator, she asked in a small voice,
"We're not going to do the abortion here?"
Damien paused and turned to look at Amelia, his gaze turning cold.
"Do you want to abort my child?"
Amelia felt the sudden surge of anger from him and became a little panicky. She subconsciously let go of his hand and created some distance between them.
Then, she suddenly lifted her head and asked uncertainly,
"What did you say just now?"
Damien forcefully suppressed the anger rising in his heart and tried to ask calmly,
"Don't you want him? Don’t you want the baby?"
Amelia's lips quivered, and tears welled up in her eyes instantly.
She shook her head vigorously.
"I have nothing against the baby, but I don't have the ability to raise him."
"Then, do you consider me as a dead person?"
He shouted this sentence, seeing the redness in her eyes and her pitiful appearance. Quickly, he softened his tone.
"I am the child's father, and I will take responsibility."
Amelia sniffed her nose.
"Mr. Kingsley, are you willing to raise the baby?"
"This is my child. Naturally, I hope for a smooth birth, but you are young, and this matter should be burdensome for you. You can tell me your difficulties, and I will try to make up for them."
Amelia looked at him and felt that Mr. Kingsley was actually a really good person. He had saved her that day, and even though there had been an accident afterward, he was now willing to accept the baby. Does this mean she would be able to give birth to the baby?
But what about her parents? When her belly started to show, they would definitely find out. She absolutely couldn't let her parents find out.
Damien led Amelia into the elevator, and as the doors closed, they were the only two people in the entire space. Amelia kept her head down and remained silent.
Although Damien felt an urgent restlessness in his heart, he did not rush or pressure her. She was just a nineteen-year-old girl, and encountering such a situation would surely make her feel anxious and scared.
In the silence, they could only see the numbers inside the elevator jumping one by one, neither of them saying a word, not knowing what they were both thinking.
It wasn't until the number reached three that Amelia looked up and asked Damien, "What should we do?"
Damien was briefly taken aback, and at the same time, something in his heart seemed to be touched. Everyone in his family was independent and strong, and no one asked him what to do.
But today, this nineteen-year-old girl, carrying his child in her belly, looked at him with innocent and pure eyes, asking him what to do.
In that moment, Damien felt like a beast. How could he have done such a thing to a child?
He was also filled with regret. He had always had exceptional self-control, having seen countless seduction techniques, but he had always been able to resist. Only on that day, this girl hung onto his neck, emitting an alluring charm from her innocent eyes, igniting his desire.
With a ding, the elevator doors opened, and the noisy sounds from outside came in. Damien crinkled his brows slightly, took Amelia's hand, and walked straight out of the hospital.
Once they were back in his car, Damien looked at Amelia and asked, "Are you willing to keep the baby?"
Amelia nodded and gently touched her flat stomach. "The baby is innocent. He shouldn't have been put in my belly, Mr. Kingsley. After I found out about the pregnancy, I was really scared. I can't let my parents know, so I wanted to have an abortion."
"I'll take care of your parents, you..." Damien was about to continue speaking, but Amelia shook her head forcefully, her emotions becoming somewhat stirred up.
"No, they can't know. They absolutely can't find out."
Seeing her fear, Damien quickly reassured her. "Alright, I won't let your parents know. Don't worry, I'll figure out a solution. But in a few months, when your belly gets bigger, you might need to move out. And since you're pregnant, you'll need to take care of yourself. Will your parents have time to take care of you?"
Thinking about her parents' attitude, Amelia knew that if she didn't get into a university and stayed at home without working, her mother would probably kick her out of the house directly.
Amelia didn't say anything, so Damien continued, "In that case, you should find a way to move out, and I'll take care of you."
"Huh?" Amelia was a bit confused. Didn't Mr. Kingsley have a job? Would he have time to take care of her? Besides, she didn't think she needed to be taken care of. If she left her parents' side, she could take care of herself.
"Let me think about it. Can I give you my answer later?" Amelia replied.
Damien was actually very worried about her, but he didn't dare to push too hard, so he could only nod.
He drove them to the hotel so she could retrieve her electric scooter.
It was Damien's first time riding this kind of a scooter, and Amelia rode in front. Riding a scooter, he was dressed in branded custom clothes and crouched in the bucket that previously held the fried chicken.
The strong wind blew his meticulously groomed hair into a wild mess, and his eyes were partially forced shut by the wind.
Amelia didn't dare to pull him directly into the shop, so she stopped at the intersection. As soon as she turned her head, she saw Damien with disheveled hair and a twisted expression.
She was momentarily stunned.
"Mr. Kingsley, you..."
She tightly pressed her lips together, controlling herself from bursting into laughter. Mr. Kingsley was in total disarray, although he still exuded an air of sophistication. However, at this moment, his face was filled with resentment, which made Amelia feel closer to him.
