Chapter 6

"You don't need to say it, my friend, but there is a crucial reason why I called you, and we need to discuss it," I said thoughtfully, getting Arturo's attention.

"Something's up, I hear you differently, and I recognize that tone of voice; it's something important, tell me about it," said Arturo.

"My son just sent me the list of the alphas. Invited to the annual meeting and one name in particular that I never thought I would see again has caught my attention," said Leandro.

"It can't be the name I'm thinking of because we officially agreed that he would stay away from our territory, and we swore that pact."

"You are right. We swore it you, alpha Contti and I, but not his son Dario , who is now the formal alpha of Highland clan and will be the one to come in his place," said Leandro.

Arturo stood up from his chair, furious. The very thought of that man near his daughter made him angry.

"We cannot allow him near my daughter, I am sure his intentions have not changed, and even if she were his mate, I would not allow my daughter to be with that man."

"You have to talk to Leonardo; we have to do something," said Arturo.

"There is little we can do, and if I talk to my son, we will have to tell him everything, from why you had to send your daughter away," said Leandro.

"Aurora!" my daughter knows about this," I said seriously.

"Not yet, but it is inevitable that she will soon find out," said Leandro.

"I will talk to Rocco, and we will think of something; we still have time."

When we returned from the walk, Luciano and I stayed in the garden talking.

"Thank you for showing me the area. I had a great time with you, and I hope this will happen again," said Luciano.

"I also had a great time, Luciano, and of course, whenever you want," I said, smiling while looking at the stars. The night was beautiful. It reminded me of when I was a child, and I would leave the house at night to be at the lake and contemplate the stars.

I was so distracted by the beautiful scenery; I didn't notice how Luciano was looking at me.

"The scenery is beautiful, right' said Luciano looking at me, "Yes, it is. It takes your breath away, don't you think," I said, referring to the stars. Still, as I turn to look at Luciano, I feel uncomfortable realizing that he talked about me.

"By the way, Aurora, I have a question I heard over there that you have recently returned. Were you on a trip" asked Luciano?

"It's not something more complicated," I said without looking at him straight on.

"What do you mean" mentioned Luciano, perplexed with my answer, "I know we just met, but I feel like I have known you all my life, believe me, you can trust me; I promise to be discreet."

"When I was 14, my father sent me to my uncle Rolando to begin my training. It is no secret that he has a special ability for the art of combat and a different speed," I said, trying to give less importance to my skills.

"Because I feel that's not entirely the reason why you were away from here' Luciano said, looking at me, "You can trust me, Aurora, I promise."

"I know, but I'm not ready to remember, let alone go into details right now. Besides, I'm a little tired. I want to retire to sleep in my room if you excuse me," I said, trying to evade the topic.

"Sure, I'll talk to you tomorrow," Luciano said as he walked away towards our clan's house.

"How about your date, sis," Rocco said as he approached me.

"Good grief, it's not a date. I was being nice and being a tour guide for a friend," I said, not giving the matter any importance.

"If you say so, it seems Luciano was too charmed by your company."

"When you stop being obnoxious, anyone would think that in 4 years, your character would improve, but miracles never come," I said, mocking him.

"How strange that you are awake at this hour; you were waiting for me. Is something wrong?" I said, worried.

Rocco looked at me, hesitating as if he was debating with himself about telling me something, "No, I was just taking a walk. I couldn't sleep".

"Ok, then I'll see you tomorrow; I love you silly," I said, smiling at him.

"I love you too, sis, get some rest," my brother said as we walked into the house, and I left, heading to my room, but on the way, I ran into Leonardo, who was leaning against my bedroom door.

"Honorable alpha, I think you have the wrong floor; yours is on the top floor. All house is mine," I said, smiling sarcastically.

"This whole wing of the house is mine, not just the top floor, but don't worry, you can stay on this floor as my guest," he said, mocking me.

"May I? I'm a little tired and would like to go to sleep," I said, trying to remove his arm from the door frame to enter my room.

"Don't you think it's a little late to be on the out on a date?" he told me very seriously.

I could perceive that he was annoyed or jealous, which is the same thing. It seemed strange to me even though I was wearing the bracelet, and he shouldn't feel that way around me.

I was confused by his reaction, "I am adult enough to go out with my friends, thank you very much for your concern, dear alpha," I said, trying again to remove his arm from my door.

"Could you move?" I growled and looking at him straight ahead, without realizing our faces were just inches apart. That's when I realized that my heart is beating fast, and I could smell his scent, and my wolf Ora was trying to take control.

"I can't understand it—something pulling me towards you, an attraction that I can't explain to myself. There is something about you that drives me crazy, and I can't stop thinking about you, "Leonardo said.

I got nervous and didn't know what to do at that moment; he was getting closer and closer to me. Our lips were about to touch when I came to my senses, and with my arm, I pushed him aside and went into my room quickly, closing the door.

I locked my door and leaned against it, trying to catch my breath, which I hadn't realized I had lost, "My God, how stupid, you're a fool, Aurora, you were about to give in," I thought, blaming myself for how weak I had been.

"Aurora opens the door. We need to talk," Leonardo said.

"There is nothing to talk about, Leonardo. Please leave," I said, begging him before I lost control and threw myself into his arms and let him do whatever he wanted to me.

I can't explain what I feel for her. I was so confused as I know she felt when she heard my words.

I could sense her skin bristle when I touched her, "Aurora, please," said Leonardo begging her, to open the door. He needed to be close to her, and his wolf was asking him to do so.

"Please, Leonardo, I'm begging you to go away," Aurora's voice was whispered, pleading with him, Leonardo.

"It's ok, sorry I don't know what came over me, get some rest, Aurora," Leonardo said as he stepped back, confused by how he had reacted a moment ago, in front of her.

"Please, Leonardo, I'm begging you to go away" Aurora's voice was heard brokenly pleading with him, Leonardo.

"It's ok, sorry I don't know what came over me, rest Aurora," Leonardo said as he withdrew, confused by how he had reacted a moment ago, in front of her.
