CHAPTER 2 Natasha's Plan

THIRD PERSON'S POV:-

Natasha was one of the police officers that were standing in front of the bank that was being robbed. They were holding their positions, waiting for the officials to give them orders. But everyone was pretty much frozen at that point. The robbers let everyone go except for a few kids. The sharpshooters couldn't do anything because the robbers were holding guns at the children's heads.

It was a situation where one wrong move could turn the bank info morgue for the innocent children. Natasha could hear the children crying and calling their parents to come and help them. She kept on reciting something under her breath that no one could hear. Every single passing moment was making her anxious.

She turned around and watched as Sergeant Grant approached her. "Sargeant, how long are we supposed to wait? They are not gonna let go of these children without us taking any action." Natasha asked the Sergeant in a low tone. Her eyes remained at the glassed wall. She could see almost everything through that glass wall.

"I can't do anything until I have my orders. Politics can be very bad whenever times like this approach." Sergeant Grant replied in a low tone.

"What does that supposed to mean, sergeant? Are we expecting to spend our whole day in front of this damned bank or our whole week? Because we know well, these damned politicians just don't fucking agree with each other in front of the cameras." Another police officer, officer Rio, asked sergeant Grant angrily.

"I just don't fucking know! Just hold your position and mind your own business." Sergeant Grant yelled at both Natasha and officer Rio. Without waiting for them to argue with him again, he walked off.

"I don't like this at all." Officer Rio spoke while staring at the face of one of the kids.

"I don't like it either. But we are supposed to wait for the orders." Natasha replied.

"I wish we could do something." Officer Rio growled angrily. Natasha turned her gaze toward officer Rio and she knew instantly that he was serious.

"We might be able to do something. But it can cost us our job." Natasha added in a low tone and officer Rio met her eyes.

"What do you have in mind?" Officer Rio asked Natasha in a confused tone.

"Not now! We will be relieved from our position in five minutes. Then we will go to the back of that building. I have a plan and I will explain everything to you once we get out of here." Natasha replied in a low tone. Officer Rio nodded his head. They both bumped their fists and waited for the longest five minutes of their lives to pass.

Natasha and officer Rio rounded up the building. Natasha explained everything to him on their way toward the back of the building. "You understood the whole plan?" Natasha asked officer Rio and he nodded his head.

Natasha changed her clothes inside of her car while office Rio was on the watch. Once done, Natasha held officer Rio's hand and they stepped into the bank through the back door, pretending to be a couple. Officer Rio played a porn video video to lure the robbers downstairs. They were in the basement.

One of the robbers heard the sounds of a woman moaning while a man roughing her up. Without telling his gang, he decided to follow the sound. The moans took the first robber into the basement. As soon as he arrived, Natasha knocked him down using the fire extinguisher. "One down, three more to go!" Officer Rio spoke in an excited tone.

"After six long hours of agony and the war between all the politicians, the bank hostage situation has finally come to an end. And it's all thanks to two police officers who just lost it." Bryan was sitting in front of the television, listening to the new updates over the serious situation the Perth city was facing since morning.

Bryan looked at the screen and leaned against the backrest of his chair. Two officers stepped out of the bank, dragging all four robbers with them. Behind them, all the hostaged children, running toward their parents.

All the reporters ran towards the two officers who took the matter in their own hands. "Officer Rio, please, tell us what really happened inside that bank?" One of the reporters shouted.

"What else would have happened? We were tired of waiting for the orders from above. One of us lost it and came up with a plan. I followed because I couldn't watch those innocent children in pain anymore." Officer Rio replied to the reporter without waiting for their sergeant.

"Are you saying it was all your doing?" Another reporter asked and officer Rio nodded his head.

"Officer Natasha J Malik and I are not so positive. We know we will soon lose our jobs. But I am happy that she snapped and came up with this plan." Officer Rio replied in a low tone while looking at Natasha.

Bryan's muscles tensed up as he heard that name again. His fists clenched and he gritted his teen as he was staring at the most beautiful face in the world. "Officer Malik! How did you come up with a foolproof plan in such a short time?" One if the reporters asked Natasha.

"We read their backgrounds as the police stayed in their position. Plus, I could see that their actions had taken a toll on them. They were all frustrated. We just needed a push." Natasha replied in a low tone.

"Anything else you would like to say?" Another reporter asked Natasha and her eyes shined like two bright stars in the dark night.

"I just wish detective Norie Rutherford was alive today. I know she must be watching me. That's why, I was able to come up with a plan. I hope one day, I will be following her footsteps." Bryan gritted his teeth angrily as he heard that woman casually calling his mother's name as if his mother was someone so important, someone so special in her life.

Natasha took a seat in front of her captain. She was excited for her first task. But if only, she knew what was coming her way. "Thank you, Captain. I assure you that it's not just for the first day. I will always be punctual and regular." Natasha promised her captain, making him chuckle. He was well aware of her performance. Captain Wilson accepted her because he knew how hardworking Natasha really was. And how compassionate she was toward her job.

"I have heard!" Captain Wilson added in a proud tone. Natasha smiled and nodded her head. "Is there anything I need to be aware of? Anything forbidden aside from everything I know about your religion?" Captain Wilson asked Natasha lowly. Natasha thought about it for a moment and she knew exactly what she was supposed to say as the response to Captain Wilson's question.

"Yes, Captain. I want to stay as far away from the politicians as possible. I don't want any trouble with them." Natasha replied to Captain Wilson honestly and he suddenly froze for a mere second.

"Is there a reason why you want to stay away from the politicians? I mean, most of the newbies want to work with the politicians. It works out amazingly for the law and enforcement career." Captain Wilson asked Natasha in a confused tone.

Natasha knew all about it. But it was actually the last thing she wanted to do to boost up her career. Natasha pulled a chain out of her hijab and at the end, Captain Wilson saw a ring. "I am actually engaged. And I will soon get married. My father in law is a politician." Natasha spoke while smiling brightly.

"The last thing I want is to get in trouble with the politicians. I don't wanna get into something that could ruin my relationship with my in-laws. We all know, no one can control the orders and restrictions." Natasha added further for her Captain to understand the seriousness of her situation. The colors of captain Wilson's face changed all of the sudden.

Natasha's smile vanished the moment she saw her captain hesitate. Suddenly,. A bad feeling started to rise in her chest. Captain Wilson was watching her. He gulped hard and tried to speak up. "Oh, I…"

Before he could even speak, a sudden knock on the door made captain Wilson freeze again. The door opened right after that light knock and Bryan Rutherford stepped inside of the Captain's office. For some reason, he looked oddly familiar to Natasha. Yet Natasha couldn't put a finger on where she might have seen him. "So, Captain Wilson! I assume you have talked to detective Malik here and explained to her about the first assignment she is gonna get." Bryan spoke as soon as he entered the Captain's office.

Bryan was staring into Natasha's eyes. She shivered as she saw something dark and demonic in his eyes for a split second. But Bryan was able to mask it up almost instantly.
