Chapter 6: PLEASE DON'T

The hard blow on the back of Jayda's head made her fall to the floor, groaning in pain. She whimpered painfully and was starting to feel dizzy.

Raising her head up to look at the monster, Roland Ernest, a tear rolled down her cheek.

Roland was the leader of a mafia group. Jayda's late father had borrowed a huge amount of money from him when he went bankrupt, a few months before he died. He had gotten himself involved in an illegal business deal with them out of hope.

He needed the money for the first surgery Samantha ever took and Jayda's education as well as other debts he had to settle.

Before he died, he had suffered a lot of harassment from Roland but he was able to bear it for the sake of his loved ones.

After he died, Roland had been torturing and harassing his only family, for them to pay his money but they didn't have such an amount of money.

"I don't think you'll ever pay us if we continue this way," Roland said then glanced at his men that were suddenly around them with guns.

He made a gesture with his fingers then one of the men walked to him before grasping Samantha's arms, picking her up roughly.

"What are you doing?" Jayda yelled the hell out of herself, even though she already felt so weak.

"I'll be taking your mother with me then I'll only release her when you pay up the money. Don't worry, she'll be fine." Roland laughed and that triggered his men to laugh as well.

"No, you can't do this." Jayda retorted.

"Why not? I am already doing it." He smirked then two other men came to join them and held Samantha, tugging her along with them.

"Stop!" Jayda screamed as she bounced to her feet then started to run after them.

The moment she got to them and held her mother's arm, she received a blow on her nose which caused her to fall to the floor once more. She felt her warm blood dripping out of her nose. It made her feel more dizzy.

"Don't try to play smart," Roland warned. "You should only blame your stupid father for dying."

Jayda knew she couldn't do anything again when they got into their cars and drove off but she still ran after the cars until they sped past her.

She sobbed like a baby for a while before she started to run home. Why else was she married to a billionaire if she couldn't get money from him at the right time. Even if he thought she was a gold digger for asking for such a huge amount of money when they only recently got married, she didn't care.

Samantha was the only family that Jayda had left so she couldn't lose her.

Jayda mentally calculated that if she was going to take a bus, she would have to wait a few minutes before the next one arrived so she didn't bother about it.

Despite her immense dizziness, she took to her heels and ran as fast as her legs could carry her.

Fred was pacing around the living room. He was feeling uneasy but he just guessed it was because he was mad at Jayda.

He couldn't concentrate on what he was doing; he had been trying to sort work-related things via his phone but he couldn't so he threw his phone to the three-seater sofa.

In no time, Jayda burst open the door and it startled him.

"Jayda," he called then ran to her when he observed the condition she was in. There was blood on her dress and she looked like a total mess.

She immediately fell in his arms and before she could open her mouth to say a word, she passed out.

"Jayda!" He screamed then hurriedly picked her up in a bridal style, running out of the house.

"Seth! Mark!" He screamed his drivers' names then Mark was the first to come to him.

"Hospital! Quick!" He ordered then Mark nodded in understanding and opened the back seat door for him.

Fred carefully placed Jayda in a lying position, resting her head on his lap. Mark shut the door then ran to the driver's seat, hopping onto it and drove fast.

Fred was as worried as hell. He didn't know what or why she was in such a condition but he wanted her fine at all cost.

He kept on pacing the hallway till Jeremy came and made him take a seat before giving him water.

"What happened to her?" Jeremy asked.

"I don't know. She said she was going to her mother's then she came back home with blood all over her. Her head and nose were bleeding. I just hope she's fine." Fred explained.

"Don't worry, nothing will be wrong with her." He patted his friend's back.

A few minutes later, the doctor that was attending to Jayda walked out with a broad smile on her face which eased Fred's tension.

He rose to his feet and tightly grasped her shoulders. "Please, what happened to my wife? Is she fine now?" He asked immediately, without pause.

"Yes, she's absolutely fine. She just passed out because she was very weak but she's good now. I'll prescribe her medication for you." She assured him.

"Thank God!" He shut his eyes shortly.

"You can go in to see her." She granted her permission.

"Thank you." He hugged the doctor then rushed into the hospital room.

Jayda was seated on the bed with her eyes flickering with tears. She didn't notice his presence until he sat beside her on the bed, then she flinched.

"Babe, what's wrong? You're definitely not going to say you're not telling me." He warned.

"Why the hell do you always want to keep everything to yourself? How did you get hurt? Where were you? And who the fuck did this to you?" He questioned at once.

She didn't give me a response because her tears were choking her so she continued to sob.

"Jayda!" He shouted angrily, "you're definitely not going to keep this to yourself? What exactly is your problem? Your silent treatment is sicking me out." He ranted.

Jayda only hugged him tightly, burying her head in his chest and crying, wetting that part of his shirt.

His heart melted on how she was crying like a child.

He tried to pull free from the hug to stare at her face directly but she tightened the hug and cried continuously.

"It's okay, love. I'm sorry for yelling." He patted her head and her back.

Jayda pulled away from the hug and stared at his eyes directly. The way his bright blue eyes were coated with worry encouraged her to talk.

Fred reached for the jug of water and a glass cup on the bedside table then filled the cup with water, handing it over to Jayda.

She took a long gulp of it then muttered a "thank you."

"My late father owed a huge amount of money to a mafia group, before he died," she started, returning the cup to Fred who kept it where he had taken it from.

"After he died, they had kept on torturing and harassing us because we couldn't pay the money. Today, I saw my mother on the floor and crying."

"Before she could warn me that they were behind me, their leader punched me on the head harshly then they took my mother. They said I'll only get her back when I pay the money."

"When I tried to save her, he hit me on the face and they drove off with my mother." She cried loudly as she summarized.

"So, you mean Mom is with some crazy mafia group?" Fred asked, he was totally in a rage. He was as cross as two sticks on hearing her explanation.

Jayda gently nodded.

"What do you know about them? Full details." He requested.

"I only know that their leader is Roland," she was trying to think of something else she could use to describe them.

"Roland Ernest?" Fred screamed.

She shot him a glare with a raised eyebrow. "Yes, Roland Ernest. How do you know him?"
