CHAPTER 6

ANNA’S POV

I had hoped and wished anytime I opened my eyes it would all be a dream but it wasn’t, even when I had secretly tried to look for Kal, and asked around, there was no one with that name, had he abandoned me? I’m sure he had since no one would like to be tied with a disgraceful omega, who was defiled anyway.

" princess…princess Ivy!" My maid called out shocking me from my thought as I wasn’t used to the name yet, I sat at the window still biting my nails as I looked at the kingdom through my window, the only thing on my mind was to at least know where my father was buried.

"I’m sorry Marie," I sighed before stepping down,

"No, my lady you can’t apologize to me," she gulped looking at me all scared,

"And why can’t I?" I said coming closer but she looked spooked and terrified of me, "Marie, did I hurt you in the past?" I called sadly, but her eyes told me everything, as the former host of this body was ruthless, from all the whispers I heard.

But her suicide attempt was what shocked the palace as she looked like he loved herself too much to ever do that, at least, I’m using that as a pretense that I forgot my memory and I’m still gaining some facts, even if I’m far from how royal acts.

"I’m sorry about how I acted Marie, I hope we can be alright?" I said to her, she was surprised as her eyes widened in a shocked expression, before a small smile of hope beamed on her face, thank you, my lady,

"Can’t you call me Ivy,"

"I am sorry"

"too fast?"

"Yes, I’m more comfortable with lady," she said fumbling with the basket that she had been holding in her hand, I wanted to change the subject so we won’t dwell on it,

"so, what’s in the basket?"

"Your dress has been finished for the ball my lady" ah yes, the ball that my supposed father the dear king was holding in my name, a lot of people outside the palace didn’t know the details. but they knew I was ill at some point and ‘mistakenly’ fell to my death, I had avoided meeting people for weeks already but I can’t continue, I had to at least myself, and from what I have gathered, elites from all over the kingdom were going to be there, and for a fact ‘they ‘ may come, my body shook in disgust by the thought of seeing them.

My attention was then brought back to Marie who had pulled the gown and ornament from the big basket, hanging it up before he walked over to me.

"Now my lady, let’s get you ready"

The small gathering or what I thought it would be turned out to be more of a grander scale of celebration and honestly the elite sneaking around and talking behind other wolves put me in a bad mood as I clearly wasn’t at all excited to down there.

"My lady we are ready for you" Marie called as I stood up, patting down the invisible dirt on my gown as I tried to calm my nervous self of a wreck,

"We welcome her highness, princess Ivy" the town crier announced, I had then made my way down with steady steps as to see all eyes were on me, before a resounding clap from the guest at my every step forward,

"Ivy!" I heard my name called by an unfamiliar person, turning back to see a brunette beauty who looked elated to see me, as I showed no emotion likewise as to only confusion settling on my features, the alpha made her way closer, as she took me into a hug pulling me closer before letting go, I heard you got into a bit of an accident, I honestly was so scared you wouldn’t make it.

she babbled on but I just looked at her in confusion I couldn’t just grasp my head around who she was or her name,

"Ah countess Brenton" I heard a voice utter looking up to see my father the king.

"Your majesty," she bowed.

"It’s such a shame we couldn’t make it to your mating ceremony," he said sadly.

"No worries my king, I was the bad friend not leaving my wedding as soon as I heard of her accident, I’m so sorry," she called.

"‘sorry my ass" I whispered under my breath as to what kind of friend wouldn’t visit a dying friend, even after I had a month to recuperate, she never visited, not that I cared but at least to this host body, she was not a loyal friend.

"I still do hope you can make it to Ivy’s mating ceremony,"

"yes, my ceremony-What?!" I called out stunned did I just hear that right? "Father what do you-"

"The Duke and alpha Michael Vance have arrived!" I heard turning everyone’s attention to the entrance, the so-called duke was covered by the hovering bodies of many guests that were dying to get a glimpse of him, but I couldn’t see anything, as no matter, I could see him gain closer, a server had then passed at that moment, handing me a glass of wine and averring my attention since I needed something to calm my nerves from the king’s brazen announcement, it had to be a joke. till the alpha came forward standing tall and proud.

"Ah, duke Vance welcome my boy," the king called as I looked over to the duke who bowed, as I had not yet seen his face clearly, he had then looked up and looked straight at me as I couldn’t help my breath hitch, with my body feeling limp as the glass flute filled with champagne fell and broke, was I hallucinating the person standing before, not a commoner but the duke, this was Kal, my Kal, who was an elite who has seemingly lied to me and this part of himself a secret from me, and yet here he was in front of me standing with another persona and fancy clothes as I couldn’t help my scent pour out sourly in spite.

Just who could I trust.

"Ivy?!" I heard my father say bringing me back to the reality that he was standing before, his expression still stiff, his expression didn’t look happy, he had moved forward taking my hand in a light kiss before bowing, I couldn’t help but feel more pissed, using all my strength to not burst knowing at any moment my scent would turn sour from anger.

Here I was facing, the man who had promised to marry me, and take good care of me, only to find out that he had been betrothed to the princess, no wonder he didn’t talk much about where he was from.

How worse can my life become, and now I was to be married to him.
