CHAPTER 03
A FEW YEARS LATER:-
ZEUS' POV:-
I looked at myself in the mirror. Admired the way I look. I was wearing a v-neck grey t-shirt with black skinny jeans. It was the fourteenth birthday of Dabria. "You have to wear a tuxedo. It is her birthday. We need to look amazing. I want her eyes on our butt all day." Zaric spoke in an annoyed tone and I chuckled. I could not help myself. He was always very cautious and possessive about Dabria. Even though he knew her better than me. But still he had to say things that made absolutely no sense when it came to Dabria. I squeezed some gel out of the tube and styled my hair with it.
"You know well, Zaric. No matter who is standing in front of her, our princess only looks at us. So your stupid conclusions are way too stupid for me. Just calm down. She will love to see whatever I am wearing." I replied to my wolf while rolling my eyes at his dramatic acts he always pulled on her birthday. Once my hair was done, I grabbed the bottle of the perfume Dabria had gifted me on my birthday. I sprayed the perfume all over my body. To be honest, her gifted perfumes were always the best. And sometimes I even wondered why I could not choose perfumes like her.
Once I was ready, I jumped out of the window in my bedroom and ran towards the garage. Usually, I would run all the way to her territory, but this time I decided to change. Well, definitely, it was nothing like I was going to the end of the street. Dabby's territory was in North Louisiana. And we lived in South Louisiana. But it was nothing for me to run towards her territory. I was the fastest werewolf. And it was nothing for me to run that far. But this time, I decided to drive there. I hopped into my truck and my driver drove off.
There were still three hours to pass till midnight. The driver drove as fast as he could. The music was playing loud and I was humming with the song. I was excited. I had not seen her for four months. I went for training as Pa wanted me to. I came back a few hours ago and I did not even lie down. I showered and changed. While coming back home, I bought some gifts for her. It was her birthday. And I knew she was always excited to see what I would give her. It was the only thing she was excited about her birthday. Actually, she was always excited to see me on her birthday.
It took me five hours to finally reach her territory. And as expected, they were celebrating the death day of the evil Eve, as they called it. That innocent woman was evil for them. I just never understood that festival in the Cerberus territory. Instead of celebrating the birthday of the only heiress of the territory, they celebrated the day of death of a woman who died a long time ago. We were never told what actually happened there. What actually happened to that woman. But I heard ma and Aunt Evangeline talking about Eve that something horrible happened to that woman. And no one actually was allowed to even say her name. The vampire king, the ass hat, was too afraid of her to even let her name stay alive.
The driver parked the car in front of the Palace of Cerberus. I grabbed all the bags filled with all the gifts I had bought for her. Then I made my way towards the Palace. The Palace's gates were open. It was very unlikely. As uncle Hayden always kept the gates closed on that day. He was always worried about Dabby. I stepped into the Palace and sighed. I saw Aunt Eva crying crazily. Uncle Hayden was standing beside her, rubbing her back to calm her down. It was enough for me to understand that there was something wrong with Dabby.
I dropped all the bags on the floor and ran towards Aunt Eva. As she saw me, she opened her arms for me. I hugged her as I knew she needed that. "It's okay, Aunt Eva. I am here now. Everything is going to be alright. Just calm down for a minute and tell me what is wrong. Why are you crying? Where is my princess?" I asked her while rubbing her back to help her calm down. Hearing about Dabby, she cried more. I sighed as I knew it was useless to ask Aunt Eva about Dabby if she was in trouble.
I broke the hug and stood up. As I already knew, a vampire must have abducted her. It was because of an evil witch who predicted Dabria's future. She predicted that whoever would take her virginity, would be the Alpha of the hundred territories. And ever since then, Dabby started disappearing very often. Rogues, douchebag sons of Alphas, vampire Masters or any ordinary creatures, it never really mattered. All they wanted was to abuse her so they could have what they want, power. And since then, I have been protecting her like a guardian. Because I was the only one who could catch her scent.
I sniffed the air first. Then I took a deep breath. I had caught her scent. It was not long when she left the Palace. I was about to start following the scent when I felt uncle Hayden's hand on my shoulder. I turned around to face him. "She is not abducted this time. Ever since the clock ticked to midnight, she started screaming. It was just like her first birthday. She was not calming down at all. She was afraid of something. I heard her asking for help. She was screaming ``make it stop. Please. Stop. Don't hurt her. Stop hurting her. If anyone can find her and help her, it's you Zeus. Please find my baby girl." He said in a pleading tone and I nodded my head. I almost felt sorry for him. She was his only daughter and he loved her so much.
I started running, following the trail of her scent. The trail took me towards the woods. It made me worried too. I knew her better than her own parents. And I knew how terrified she was of the dark. There was no way she could be in the forest this late at night. But where her scent trail was going, I kept running in that direction. After about five minutes, the trail ended. I looked around and of course I knew where she was. She did not run anymore. She climbed up.
It was the same treehouse uncle Hayden and Pa had built for us when we were kids. I climbed up the tree and reached the treehouse. I must mention that our treehouse was almost luxurious too. It had three compartments. One for me, once for Dabby and one for Moon. And a roof. Whenever Dabby was feeling low, I would take her to the roof. We would sleep there. It was one of the sweetest memories we had that were attached with that tree house. Moon did not come here much but me and Dabby, we still come here. Sometimes to remember our childhood and sometimes just to be alone with each other.
