CHAPTER 08

DABRIA'S POV:-

After a few minutes, a man stepped into the kitchen. He had this wide smile on his face as he saw me. He walked closer towards me and bowed his head in front of me. "This is Ryan. One of the most powerful vampires I have ever known. Not just that. He was called the eclipse. We all feared him and his loyalty to Adrian. But then, he became loyal to Eve. She saved his life." Dad added after a minute. I was staring at that man. He sure looked so familiar. After a minute, I remembered. I used to have nightmares about him too. I stood up from my chair and walked towards him. I touched his cheek and everything he had been through, flashed in front of my eyes.

For a moment, I felt dizzy and was about to fall on my butt, but Zar was already standing behind me. He caught me at the right time. "Are you alright, my Mistress?" Ryan asked me in a worried tone while looking at me. I stood up and shook my head with a smile on my face.

"I am fine. It's just… I have seen everything that happened to you. I saw it all in my nightmares. Just like I saw everything about Eve in my nightmares." I replied to him in a low tone and Ryan turned his face towards Dad with a questioning look in his eyes. As if he was trying to ask dad something without using his words.

I went back towards the table. I still feel weak for some unknown reason. "Yeah! She knew Eve without me telling her anything about her. She was born at the same date and at the same time when Adrian murdered Eve mercilessly. And since her birth, she could hear her cries. She could hear Eve crying in pain and asking Adrian to forgive her. Asking that heartless and soulless man to love her back. I just never believed her. I thought she was making it all up." My dad explained everything to Ryan in a low tone. While I was munching on my pizza. Hearing uncle Adrian's name, Ryan gritted his teeth and growled in anger. As if he hated uncle Adrian.

Well, I hated him too. I could never imagine anyone loving someone that much. Eve was literally crazy about uncle Adrian. There was nothing that mattered for her. She jumped into a fight to save his ass. While all Uncle Adrian cared about was the throne of the vampire king. He betrayed the woman who loved him more than herself. I could understand the pain Eve went through. Because I loved Zeus the same way. Until I couldn't keep up with his insults. The day he threw me in front of his friends and asked them to devour my body because I was his whore. I loved him blindly. But that day Zeus just crossed all the lines. And I couldn't take it anymore.

I hated Zeus for everything he did to me. And I swore to never look at his face again in my life. It still hurt me to remember the moment he called me his whore. He never disrespected me before. Not until I was fourteen. It all started when I turned fourteen. My worst mistake was that I went with him. Being away from the palace of Cerberus used to help me sleep at night. Otherwise, Eve's soul used to haunt me every single night. Dad sent me with Zeus so he would teach me self-defence. But I never thought that would become my biggest mistake. I still never tried to look for anyone for myself. I don't want anyone in my life anymore.

I had accepted the fact that Eve and I were born not just with the same face, but also with the same fate. Just like Eve, I couldn't have a loving mate too. I stood up without finishing my pizza. My heart was heavy again. "Dabby! Baby, finish your pizza. You haven't eaten anything while you were unconscious. Why are you leaving?" Dad asked me in a worried tone as he saw that I was leaving without finishing my food. I didn't turn to look at him. I knew my eyes were filled with tears. And I didn't want him to see me cry anymore. I had no idea why it still hurt me to remember that time when Zeus betrayed me just like uncle Adrian betrayed Eve.

"I am not hungry anymore. I want to sleep." I replied to him in a low tone then walked away. Instead of going back to my room, something I felt like pulling me out of the palace. I started walking towards the door of the palace. I could hear Zar following me. As soon as I was out of the palace, I started running into the forest. I stopped right in front of the only tree I could recognize in that forest. It was the same tree that had the treehouse for us. Where Zeus, Moon and I used to play. I wiped my tears and started climbing up the stairs. Zar was calling me but I didn't even look at him.

I stepped into the tree house and looked around. Long time ago, it used to be my heaven. I used to run away from the palace and come here to have some peace. I inhaled sharply and I felt a sharp pain in my chest. That place still smelled like Zeus. And Zaric had marked that place as his territory. I heard Zar whimpering from behind. I turned around and found him standing behind me. He walked towards me and licked my cheek. I was shocked to see him standing in the treehouse. First of all, that place and its surroundings were marked by an alpha werewolf. That meant no wolves could step into that place. Secondly, Zar couldn't just climb up on a tall tree. It was not that easy for a wolf to climb up just like that.
