Chapter 6

ANGEL SINCLAIR.

The bass sound makes my whole body jerk in a good, fast rhythm. Ashely is right next to me, dancing in the same tune. It's kind of a cool party. I thought it would be bad. It sure was better than staying at home sleeping.

"How delicious, Angel!" she says, sipping some more of her drink, "I want about ten more of this drink here".

"Careful not to overdo the alcohol, friend," I say loudly over the noise, "I know you're not the one driving, but it's not good to get drunk in these crowded places".

"Relax, Angel. Everything's under control. After all, the only thing I want is to forget my troubles and only drink will give me that", she laughs, throwing her head back, "Where's Tyler's crush? I haven't found him yet."

"I don't see him either," I reply, taking a quick glance around the party, "Not him and not that other asshole."

"I saw Bryan walking down the hall with a girl just now. He is doing well. He's barely arrived and he's already enjoying himself".

"What? Who?"

"Vick from high school."

"Oh, right! It had to be Vick. I'm sure she's already having sex with him," I roll my eyes.

"Look, I don't doubt it!".

"If you see Tyler, let me know. You won't get away from him today".

"If it doesn't happen today, it won't ever happen again".

"Don't worry, it's going to happen tonight, just let him show up".

"It's going to be the best night of my life," she says, super excited.".

"Have no doubt about it, friend," we laugh and I take a sip of her drink".

While Tyler doesn't show up, Ashley and I keep dancing on the dance floor. There are so many people here that it is getting stifling. All these people are from high school and that means that I have to be on my best behavior. Otherwise tomorrow the whole school will be talking about me because I am the most popular girl. I can't cross the line.

I accidentally bump into someone behind me. I am ready to apologize, but I snort when I see who it is. It's that idiot Bryan, and that means I shouldn't apologize, because he's the one who's wrong for not seeing me dance.

"Are you drunk enough to bump into other people?" he laughs and gives me a disdainful look".

"I'm not even drinking straight, you idiot. You should watch where you're going".

"You know, Angel, I was too busy just now and came back so excited I didn't even realize there was some blonde dancing around here like a crazy person."

"The only crazy girl here is the girl who agreed to have ex with you”.

"And who said it was in bed?" he laughs and I look at him in disgust".

"It had to be a man! You disgusting bastard! Get out of my field of vision now!", I exclaim, nudging him.

"Hey there, Bryan, have you seen Tyler?", Ashley asks as he walks past her".

"I haven't seen him no, but he's probably upstairs."

"Leave that kid alone, friend. He doesn't know anything," I say.

Ashley turns her back and Bryan follows to a little group of boys. He opens a bottle of drink with his tooth as he watches me dance. I do my best on the dance floor, because that is what I came for. I feel his gaze on me at every moment and I only stop dancing when Ashley nudges me.

"What is it, Ashley?", I ask, stopping dancing.

"There's Tyler," she points to the stairs and I see Tyler staggering.

"Whoa!", I grimace, "He looks stoned. Are you still going to want him?", I ask.

"Even better! Go on."

"Fine. Wait for me here and I'll come get you in a minute," she smiles and I head in Tyler's direction.

"Hey there, babe. Need anything?" he asks when he sees me and I can feel his unbearable drinking breath.

"Yeah. My friend...," he interrupts me.

"I'm not hearing anything. Let's go upstairs and then you can tell me.

"Okay.

We both go up the stairs and Tyler leads me into a room. I stand near the door and he is standing right next to me.

"You can talk, babe."

"You know my friend?", I ask.

"Ashley, right?".

"Yeah, Ashely. She's into you, and I thought you guys might suddenly hook up."

Tyler stares at me for a few seconds and then laughs. My pupil dilates as I see him moving closer and closer to me, until he has his chest against my breasts.

"Look, Angel. If I wasn't so into you, I'd even take your friend. She's hot, but the one I really want is right here in front of me!" he says, looking into my eyes

"That's too bad, Tyler, because I have no interest in you.

"Stop playing dumb, Angel. I know you're just as into me, you just don't want to admit it."

"No, I'm not into you.

"Yes you are."

Tyler tries to kiss me and I dodge his face. I try to open the door handle but can't, as he holds my fists and presses me against the wall. Automatically I start screaming for him to let me go, but it is in vain. We are on the second floor, most people are downstairs and the sound is very loud.

"I don't want anything to do with you, Tyler. Let me go now!", I scream, terrified.

"But I do. I want it bad, and no one is going to stop me from having this moment with you," he says, stealing a kiss from me.

I struggle and try to push him away, but it is unsuccessful. He's huge and I can't handle him, but my hopes of getting rid of his clutches come to a head when someone practically breaks down the bedroom door. I am startled to see who it is. It's Bryan, my stepbrother.
