Chapter 2 Relying on the Big Bird
It was estimated that even before the divorce, Darrin had already been involved with Lakisha, and was just waiting for the right time to propose the divorce.
Suddenly, Felicia felt disgusted by Darrin, including his money.
She would rather beg on the street than borrow his money. Instead, she let go of her restraint and spoke, "Oh, isn't this the fat bitch Lakisha Howell who always wanted to interfere between us during our university days?"
"You..." Lakisha Howell was annoyed when people called her fat, and her face immediately flushed.
Before she could retaliate, Felicia looked at Darrin again. "Weren't you the one who always said she was as ugly as a miscarriage and mocked her for having delusions of flowers blooming in cow shit? And now you willingly eat cow shit?"
"Felicia Dodson!" Even if Lakisha’s face was as thick as her fat, she couldn't bear to be described as "cow shit."
"Felicia, Lakisha is innocent. If you have any dissatisfaction, direct it at me."
Darrin spoke up to defend her, but he wasn't sure if he was defending Lakisha or feeling indignant at being described as eating cow shit.
"I never realized you could be so articulate. It seems that you've put in quite a bit of effort in front of us!" Trisha Blevins also felt insulted and joined in, mocking Felicia, showing a two-faced nature.
Felicia was never one to take insults lying down and immediately retaliated.
"But still not as good as you, claiming to be indifferent to fame and fortune, yet loving.
Money drives you to make your son please the Tang family."
Trisha Blevins was furious: "What are you talking about? Where did I express love for money?"
Mama's boy Darrin also became anxious: "Felicia, it's one thing if you talk about me, but my mom has not offended or provoked you. If you continue to be so disrespectful towards her, I won't be polite to you!"
"I have already been polite enough to her. Who would've thought she would be so old-fashioned and arrogant, not allowing anyone to speak!" Felicia couldn't stand Darrin acting like a mama's boy.
Darrin was intolerant of anyone insulting his mother, and was on the verge of getting violent.
Instead of stopping them, Trisha and Lakisha shouted, "Darrin, hit her! Let's see if she dares to cause trouble at our house again."
Just then, a commanding male voice sounded, "Stop!"
As Felicia looked up in astonishment, she saw Frederick, whom she had spent the night with, standing behind her.
He was dressed in a black designer suit, with a tall and stunning figure.
The other three also saw Frederick, and were all watching him carefully.
Especially Lakisha, who could hardly hide her admiration.
"Trisha, this girl is Darrin's ex-girlfriend. She came to borrow money from Darrin with no hope of reconciliation, and ended up causing trouble and insulting us. Her behavior is truly lacking in manners."
Trisha Blevins regained her senses first and immediately splashed dirty water onto Felicia.
Then she was convinced that Felicia was bullying her in front of Frederick, which was like running into a dead end in New Port. She would definitely not be able to get by.
Darrin believed that Frederick, his mom’s brother brother, would not stand for Felicia the bullying of his sister in front of him, would surely have consequences.
Although he also felt sorry for Felicia, he had no intention of stopping them at all.
Darrin felt that Felicia was too ignorant and it was a good time for his uncle to teach her a lesson in life.
Felicia also thought that Frederick would discipline her, after all, the two people she confronted were his family.
She had even prepared herself to endure a beating, but she didn't expect to hear the man coldly reprimanding, "Her lack of manners in cursing doesn't match your supposed high moral ground in hitting others?"
This time, everyone was stunned.
Not only Felicia, but even Trisha and Darrin were surprised as they looked at Frederick. They never expected Frederick to help others rather than family.
"That's what uncles do."
Being that Trisha is older than Frederick, it was a bit humiliating for her to offer an apology, so Darrin had to speak up instead.
"It's not me you should apologize to."
As Frederick’s words fell, the faces of Darrin and Trisha became more and more unpleasant.
Does that mean they should apologize to Felicia?
Felicia is nothing now. Even if they were in the wrong, apologizing to Felicia would be demeaning.
However, Frederick was present, and if they didn't do as he said, it would be disrespectful to him.
Darrin and Trisha were still unsure about how to proceed, so Felicia ended up taking the initiative and spoke first..
"Forget about apologizing, because I won't accept it. Instead, I’d like to take this opportunity to clear everything up."
Darrin Nicholson looked slightly surprised as he glanced at Felicia and found her looking at him as well.
"Darrin, as you requested, our marriage is now off. In the future, we have no relation to each other. It's not that you don't want me, but I also don't want you anymore."
Felicia’s tone was soft but mixed with a hint of indifference, which made Darrin feel unsettled, as if something important in his life was silently slipping away.
"Felicia." He reached out uncontrollably, trying to grasp onto something.
But Felicia didn't even look back. She turned around and walked away.
Frederick was still glancing at Felicia’s departing figure when Trisha’s voice chimed in, "Frederick, don't let people who are no longer related to our family affect our mood. I've had the chef prepare..."
Before she could finish, Frederick interrupted, "I have something to attend to, so I need to leave."
"What about the factory..." Trisha wanted to merge the two production lines from the He family to the Nicholsons, which is why she brought Frederick here in the first place.
"We can discuss that later."
Frederick, without delay, finished speaking and walked away with long strides.
Trisha could only curse in frustration.
"It's all because of that bitch! If it weren't for her, I would have my merger finished today."
But Darrin was still stupidly staring in the direction of where Felicia had left, ignoring his mother’s curses.
Lakisha, on the other hand, had forgotten everything around her since seeing Frederick.
She had thought that Darrin Nicholson, with his looks, was already an extremely rare find and did whatever it took to win him over, but she didn't expect his uncle to be even more impressive.
She was already immersed in the stunning beauty of Frederick and had no interest in agreeing with Trisha’s words anymore.
After Felicia left The Nicholsons, she walked aimlessly on the street, thinking about where to find a large sum of money for her mother's treatment.
Just then, a private car stopped beside Felicia, and the back seat window slowly rolled down, revealing Frederick Blevins' flawless handsome face.
Before Felicia could react, the man already spoke concisely as if giving an order, "Get in the car!"
