Chapter 28

5 years later.

Lisa blew out the birthday candles because she was 23 years old. She had been with the werewolf colony for about 6 years, and they had ups and downs.

"I'm 23 years old, and I'm happy to be among you," Lisa said.

"Happy birthday Luna! We're happy for you."

Lucanne presented his wife with a gold necklace and some other jewellery. Since their clan had changed its concept from being very traditional, they were now living in the modern world. They have mingled with humans and even work in offices. Their houses are also modern, following the style of human houses, but their identity is still hidden so that humans do not disturb them.

"Thank you, dear. I like it very much."

Leonard also gave something to his mother, and he gave a cute picture.

"Mommy, this is my drawing. Happy birthday," Leonard said.

"Thank you, you are my family."

Leonard was the son of Lisa and Lucanne, naturally a mix of werewolf, elf and human. Lucanne guarded Leonard vigilantly, as he was sure many were after his son.

"Now, let's eat the cake together. I'll cut it so it's fair, and we can all taste it," Lisa said.

"I don't want to; last time I ate cake, my stomach hurt," Lucanne replied.

"Just a bite; it won't give you a stomachache."

Lisa forced Lucanne to taste even just a piece; her husband was not used to human food despite trying to live like a human for 5 years.

"How does it taste?" asked Lisa.

"It's so bad; why do humans celebrate birthdays with cake? Is there no other food?" asked Lucanne.

"If you don't like it, it's okay; next year, there will be no cake."

Seeing Lisa angry with her husband's words, Lucanne apologized by kissing Lisa's lips in front of everyone, including his son. Lisa was shocked; she pushed him away and felt ashamed of them.

"There are many werewolves here, and our son saw it."

"I proved that I love you."

Lisa just smiled; Lucanne had changed a lot into a romantic man. After the birthday event, they continued their respective activities, including Lucanne, who had to return to his workplace.

"Papa, don't work anymore!" Leonard said.

"You have to go back to the office because your lunch hour is over; you'll be home in the afternoon," Lucanne replied.

"I'm mad at you," said Leonard.

Lucanne smiled a little; he took her son in his arms and gave him a few kisses. Lisa was so happy to see the father-son interaction that she couldn't help but shed a few tears.

"Luna?"

Someone calls Lisa, who turns out to be Elle. Her friend was pregnant, and who would have thought she was married to Sean?

"Elle? Come eat my birthday cake!"

"My stomach is so full. Have you seen my husband?"

"He's on an assignment from Lucanne to hunt for food in the forest. Who would have thought that you used to hate Sean so much that you ended up getting married," Lisa said.

"I can't wait for my baby to be born later, even though Alpha was against our relationship before, but this baby in the stomach is our saviour," Elle replied.

Marriages between werewolves and vampires were rare; they were such great enemies that many relationships were secret so as not to be discovered by anyone.

Sean came with a giant wild boar; Elle was pleased her husband would comply with her desire to drink the boar's blood.

Lucanne is now a manager; before, she fought in the forest for food, with other clans now fighting for money. Lucanne and her colony have also obtained city identification cards to work legally.

"Tonight is a full moon, and I should call the Moon Goddes to come," Lucanne said.

Her friend arrived shortly; he was her coworker and a vampire. The man was drinking chicken blood that was put into a glass.

"Do you want some?" asked Evan.

"No," Lucanne replied.

"You know Diana? She likes you," said Evan.

"Tell her I have kids and a wife," said Lucanne.

Evan sat next to Lucanne and whispered. "It's okay to have an affair."

Lucanne turned to Evan while growling, scaring Evan; he forgot that his friend was an alpha who had killed many enemies.

"I'm kidding," Evan said.

"Go, take care of your work!"

"What about the gift I suggested? Did your wife like it?"

"Yes, she liked it. I'm sure a female werewolf will buy it after this," Lucanne said.

At the same time Diana arrived, she smiled at Lucanne as she handed her a cola; Evan left as soon as she arrived while Lucanne remained focused on her computer.

"Evan must have said something strange to you," Diana said as she handed him the cola.

"Evan likes to joke around. Sorry, I don't like cola," Lucanne replied.

"You know, once a werewolf moves to the city, he forgets where he came from, like me. I'm so comfortable here that even some humans know I'm a werewolf," Diana said.

"I won't forget where I came from. In the Pack, we still perform rituals to worship the Moon Goddes and hunt and train all the young werewolves. Nothing has changed for us," Lucanne replied.

She smiled, and then her hand clasped Lucanne's; the man brushed Diana's hand away and showed his displeased face.

"Just watch out if everyone finds out that I'm a werewolf, I'll kill you," Lucanne said.

"Your killing instinct is still strong? I won't tell anyone because I like you," Diana said.

Diana left there, making Lucanne careful of the man; suddenly, his wife called him and reported that Leonard had fallen. Lucanne just smiled, he was not at all afraid of his son getting hurt while Lisa was upset because of her husband's response like that.

"You're always teaching him weird things; Leonard climbed up a tree and fell," Lisa said.

"Luna, our son is my future successor, and he can't afford to get hurt. Let Leonard explore nature and make him a brave boy," Lucanne replied.

"Aaa!"

Lisa's scream startled Lucanne, and after her phone call was disconnected, Lucanne was worried and immediately used her telepathy to see the situation in the Pack.

"Lisa? Leonard?" said Lucanne worriedly. "I have to go back to Pack now."
