✨Chapter 3✨

A month later

Julia kept on hoping for Dylan to come to her even once. Whenever her phone rang, she jumped up and picked it up immediately without checking the caller but as soon as she heard someone else's voice, disappointment washed over her.

Several times, she has thought of calling Dylan but her pride wouldn't let her. He was the one that cheated on her and he should be the one apologizing but he ignored her instead.

When she realized she couldn't wait for him anymore, she dressed and went to his house. She planned to ask him if he even loved her from the start.

The house's fence was low so someone outside could see what was happening in the compound.

Fortunately, as soon as Julia got out of her car, she saw Dylan in the compound. His hands were in his pocket and he stood there in his glory looking handsome and hot as ever. The sun shone directly on his gave making him look like a work of art and Julia couldn't believe she was married to such a handsome man.

While she stared on dreamily, Dylan turned around and their eyes met. She expected him to run outside to her but shockingly, he didn't move an inch and he had an indifferent look on his face.

"What is going on? Can't he see me? Did something happen to his eyes? Why is he just staring at me plainly?" Julia asked all these questions in her head

When she realized that he really wasn't going to acknowledge her presence, she decided to ask him why he was behaving that way.

She walked towards the gate but stopped in her tracks when she saw Nicole coming out of the house to meet Dylan.

As soon as Dylan turned around and saw Nicole, he smiled warmly at her. Julia was dumbfounded but what made her even weaker was when Nicole saw her and kissed Dylan to make her jealous.

Dylan didn't push her away but he didn't respond to the kiss either. He just stood rooted with his hands still in his pocket.

Tears blinded Julia's eyelid and she returned to her car, driving home roughly while ignoring all the traffic rules.

As she parked her car in the garage, she had the urge to throw up and she rushed to the toilet. When she was done, she stared at herself in the mirror and started crying all over.

While she was here waiting for him, he was in the arms of another woman and it was none other than her own best friend. If he didn't love her, why did he even get married to her in the first place?

Throughout the week, Julia threw up every morning and went down with a fever. She was expecting it to stop after a few days but when she noticed it wasn't stopping, she went to the hospital for a checkup.

"The result will be out soon, you can sit in the waiting room" the doctor told her.

It was written all over her face that she was really sick and she couldn't wait to deal with the sickness so she could live her life once again.

"Congratulations miss. You are pregnant" the doctor announced

Julia ignored what the doctor said because, within her, she felt the doctor was definitely not talking to her. How can she be pregnant? That's absurd!

"Miss Julia?" the doctor called out.

"Yes doctor? I'm sorry, I zoned out for a few minutes" Julia apologized.

"It's okay. You are pregnant, congratulations once again" the doctor said

"Okay this is creepy. Is the doctor really referring to me?" she asked herself and looked around to see if she was the only one in the doctor's office

"D... doctor I don't understand. What do you mean by I'm pregnant?" Julia stuttered

"After conducting the test, we found out you are one month pregnant" the doctor repeated.

"Pregnant? Are you sure you didn't mix up my name? My name is Julia Louis" Julia said

"Yes, I know. You are a month pregnant. I have to attend to the other patients so please listen to the dos and don'ts during pregnancy" the doctor said

The doctor said the necessary things but Julia didn't listen. The news was a great shock to her and she couldn't even believe it.

She returned home a few minutes later and was still staring blankly. The word pregnancy was so strange to her that she even felt she might have forgotten the meaning.

"If I'm pregnant, does it mean that rapist is the child's father? He was the one I got intimate with last and it happened exactly a month ago" she mumbled to herself.

"I got betrayed by my best friend and my husband. I was raped on the same day and now, I'm carrying a bastard inside my womb. Do I have any reason to live anymore?" she thought to herself

Dylan's mansion

"Do you know who that girl is? The girl that we saw outside a week ago?" Dylan asked Nicole

"Why are you asking about a girl we saw a week ago?" Nicole scoffed

"I can't seem to get her picture out of my head and she feels familiar to me" Dylan said

"She feels familiar to you? You didn't even remember your own fiancee but a strange girl feels familiar to you?" Nicole flared up

"I really don't know why she feels familiar, I just asked to see if you know her" Dylan mumbled

"I don't know her. I already told you that you can't trust anyone now that you have lost your memories. Forget about any familiar feeling and don't forget that we have to go to the company this coming week. You've been away for a long time" Nicole said.

Nicole was well aware that there is only one person that Dylan can feel familiar with and it's none other than Julia so she wants to do her best to make sure they never cross paths.

"Is my company very big?" Dylan asked.

He not only lost the memory of everyone in his life but he also didn't know who he was.

"Of course! You are among the top three most successful businessmen in USA" Nicole said.

"Thank you. I really don't know what I would have done without you" Dylan said.

"That being said, when are we going to get married? I told you we were about to announce our wedding when you were involved in that accident" Nicole said.

"I don't want to get married now, please exercise a little more patience until I regain my memory" Dylan pleaded.

"Are you being serious right now? What if it takes two years to regain your memory? I honestly don't understand. Is it that you don't trust me or do you feel your feelings for me are not strong enough for us to get married?" Nicole asked.

"It isn't like you think. I trust you but I really want to regain my memory first" Dylan said.

"You didn't answer my question. What if it takes two years for you to regain your memory?" Nicole asked.

"I'm not that heartless. Just give me three months. If I don't recover my memory within three months, we will get married" Dylan said

"You promise?" Nicole asked.

"I promise" Dylan assured.

"Fine then. Three months is not too long so I'll wait. After all, we've been dating for over two years already" Nicole said.
