✨Chapter 9✨

Dylan dejectedly returned to the mansion and met Nicole in the house. She was on a call, but as soon as she noticed Dylan, she ended the call and smiled at him.

"How was work today? It's still a bit early, so why did you leave work already?" Nicole asked while staring at the wall clock

"What's wrong?" she asked when Dylan refused to answer her.

"Was I married to Julia before?" Dylan asked and sat on a couch

"What are you talking about? I told you weren't married to her," Nicole said

"What if I married her secretly and you weren't aware of it?" Dylan asked

"Nothing like that happened, and if it did happen, it means you betrayed me," Nicole said

"Then what's the picture on her Instagram and why did her secretary talk about marriage?" Dylan asked frustrated

"I told you she would go to any length to make you hers because of her strong obsession. Don't you trust me?" Nicole asked

"I trust you, but what you are trying to say is that everyone else is lying except you, and that is not possible," Dylan said

"I'm not saying everyone else is lying. I only said you shouldn't trust anyone because they might take advantage of your condition," Nicole said

"But they don't even know about it. I might not be sure of others, but I'm pretty sure that Julia's secretary doesn't know about it," Dylan said

"Can we please not argue about this? Julia is having the best time of her life right now while we are busy arguing. Our wedding is just around the corner, so please, let's not make a big deal out of this," Nicole stated

Saturday

Dylan and Nicole got married as planned and it was a big wedding, just that it wasn't as big as that of Dylan and Julia.

The people present at the wedding were not many, and the gifts they received were little compared to Dylan's first wedding.

Andrea made sure to stay with Julia that day and she stopped her from using her phone or watching TV so that she won't be heartbroken all over.

"We didn't even get many gifts for the wedding. They are openly saying how much they are against this wedding." Nicole fumed in anger when they got home that night

"Calm down please. The gifts don't really matter since we have everything we want," Dylan said

"You are right! I have my husband with me here, so why should I worry about any other gift when the best is right before me?" Nicole said with her hands around Dylan's neck

She moved closer to kiss him, but after kissing for a few minutes, Dylan gently pushed her away.

"I'm sorry, but I need some time alone for now. I'm really sorry," he apologized and left.

"Did he just say he wants to be alone on our wedding night?" Nicole scoffed after he left

"He's got to be kidding me," she mumbled and went after him.

Dylan went into one of the guest rooms and locked the door, and Nicole started banging on the door soon after.

"How can you leave me alone on our wedding night? If you knew you had no feelings for me or you didn't want to be in this marriage with me, you should have told me instead of treating me like this" Nicole said and started shedding tears

"I really don't know why you are treating me this way even though I've always been by your side. It's really not fair," she said and cried louder.

Dylan couldn't stand her tears, so he opened the door a few minutes later and wiped her tears.

"I'm sorry for making you cry today. I just wanted to spend a few minutes alone to think about something, but it's fine. Let's go upstairs," Dylan said and helped Nicole up the stairs.

They freshened up and got intimate like Nicole wanted, but it was obvious that Dylan wasn't okay with it because he didn't show any bit of interest.

Six months later

Julia was rushed to the hospital by Peterson and Andrea that night after her water broke. She was immediately taken to the labor room, where a doctor attended to her.

Throughout the nine months that she was pregnant, Julia refused to have a scan. She said she didn't want to know the gender of the baby until she gave birth, and no matter how Andrea tried to convince her, she didn't listen.

While Julia was in the labor room, Andrea and Peterson said silent prayers and paced restlessly in the waiting room as they waited for the doctor's good news.

After waiting for three hours straight, the doctor finally came out and both Andrea and Peterson ran to meet him.

"How is she a doctor?" Andrea asked

Seeing the doctor's face, she was feeling scared already because the doctor was a friend of hers and the look on his face wasn't really a good one.

"Well, the mother is......" the doctor said and paused

"Wait! Wait! Let me take in a deep breath first," Andrea said and inhaled deeply.

"Alright, you can say it now," she added.

"The mother is fine and the babies are fine too. They are all healthy," Doctor Paul said with a smile.

"What?! How dare you scare me like that?" Andrea said and hit his shoulder

"Ouch! That hurts!" Paul pouted and giggled

"Thank God she's safe. But you said babies, or did I hear it wrongly?" Andrea asked

"You heard it right! She gave birth to triplets," Doctor Paul said

"Triplets?" Andrea stuttered

"Is she awake?" she asked.

"Yes, but the nurses are cleaning up the babies and the mother, so you can wait for a few minutes before going in," Doctor Paul said

"Alright, thank you," Andrea said and turned around.

"Do you think she will be okay? Giving birth to triplets when their father is a bastard is not easy," Andrea said to Peterson.

"You are right, but that's why we are here for her. In times like this, we need to stay by her side and let her know that she's not alone," Peterson said

"That's true. I don't know how you always manage to know the right thing to say, but I'm really grateful that you are here," Andrea said

"I'm only doing my job," Peterson said

"Let's wait for five minutes before going in," Andrea said and took out her phone.

When it was exactly five minutes later, Andrea and Peterson went in.

The nurses were done taking care of both mother and children, so they left. Julia sat on the bed and stared at the triplets in their cribs.

"Julia, how are you feeling?" Andrea asked slowly

"I'm fine. I'm just glad that I don't have to walk around with a bumpy stomach anymore" Julia smiled.

"You are sure you're okay, right? I mean, you weren't expecting triplets," Andrea said

"I'm....I'm fine," Julia sniffed.

"Please excuse us Peterson" Andrea said

"It's okay. You can cry if you feel suffocated," Andrea said and hugged her tight.

"What do I do Andrea? I was only expecting one child, but how did I give birth to triplets for a bastard? If the children belonged to Dylan, it would be better even though we're divorced but triplets from rape.... I really don't know how to go through this," Julia cried.

"It's going to be very easy because I'm with you. You trust me, right? Even if I'm not home, Peterson will be home, and I'm going to employ a nanny to make things easier for you. Don't think about this as a problem or something negative.

On the positive side, you have triplets at this young age now. Once you are fifty at most, you won't need to stress yourself anymore because they will be there for you and as soon as they grow a bit older now, they will keep you company and put a smile on your face. Everything that has a negative side also has a positive side, you know?" Andrea soothed

"Thanks, Andrea; I don't know what to do without you," Julia said

"Of course! You're my little sister after all," Andrea said and burst into a giggle alongside Julia.
