Part 6
Wenner pov
After everyone got their dresses or suits, we then walked together to where the dressing rooms were located. When we got there, we were the last of the group to arrive. “Okay, now that everyone is here, let’s get started, Girls will go first, and the boys will go last,” my mother said. “Okay Mom” Alex answered. The girls started to show the outfits that they got.
When everyone was happy with what the person wanted, they got it and if they were not happy, they went to get new outfits. It took about 5 to 6 hours until everyone was happy with what they got. When we were done and paid for the dresses and suits, which we would come and pick up the day before the ball, we all went back to the cars.
“Okay let’s go home and just go and relax for the rest of the day, there is no training today,” my father said. Everyone nodded their heads and climbed into the cars. When we arrived at the packhouse me and my friends went to the gaming room in the pack house. “How about we play some games,” Holden asked excitedly. “Yeah, that sounds like a good idea,” Dash said.
We then started to play some video games, everyone taking turns to play, because only four people can play at a time. “Hey guys,” Harper said. “Yes,” Medley said. “What do you guys think will happen at the ball,” Haper asked. “What do you mean,” Mike asked her. “What I mean is, do you think we will find our mate or mates,” she asked sadly. That was not like her.
When she asked that I saw Mike also getting sad. Damien then called him to him. Mike stood up and went to sit next to Damien. Damien placed an arm around him and pulled him to his side. “I don’t know,” Victoria said. “I really hope so,” Ace said. “Yeah, I agree, I know I have a mate already, but I hate feeling like a piece of me is missing and I don’t want to feel like this anymore,” Damien said.
I sighed. Everyone was in their own thoughts. “I don’t know what will happen, but what I know is that we need to hope and believe, I know it sucks when you feel like a piece of you is missing but I have a really good feeling about this ball,” I said. “I agree with Wenner,” Dash said. “Look I might not know this feeling right now, but what I do know is never stop believing or stop dreaming, because, at the end of all the waiting, it is worth the wait,” he said while smiling at Mia.
“Yeah, I think so too,” Asher said. Everyone then nodded their heads. After that, we all went back to playing games. At 7 o’clock we all cleaned up and went down to the dining hall to go and eat dinner. After everyone ate their dinner, everyone went to their own rooms. I went to mine, and I walked to the bathroom. I then showered changed and sat in one of the chairs in my room.
I read through some pack documents. A while later there was a knock on my door. “Come in,” I said. My door opened and Dash walked into my room. He then walked to where I sat and sat on the other chair in my room. “Hey dude,” he said when he sat down. I place the papers down on the table. “Hey man” I replied back. “So how do you really feel about the ball,” he asked.
I smiled. “About the ball itself or about maybe finding my mate,” I asked him. He laughs. “About both” he replied. “Well about the ball itself, I feel really good, and I know everything is in its place and everything will probably go smoothly, and most wolves will find their mates,” I said. “But about finding myself,” I said. “I am scared” I replied. Dash looks shocked. Well maybe because I never say if I feel scared, because I usually keep that to myself.
“Wow, you don’t get scared of anything,” he said. I laugh at that, because he is right, most of the time nothing gets me scared but my mate does, and it frightens me. “Yeah, I know, but if you guys don’t like her, or my family doesn’t like her or if she is mean to everyone, I don’t know what I will do, I mean I do want to be happy, but I won’t lose my family and friends over her,” I said with a sigh.
Dash smiles. “I don’t think you will have to worry about anything, because if she can’t handle you, then she is not worthy of you,” he said. “I mean you get really possessive and protective and if she can’t handle that then she might as well stay away,” he said while laughing. I laughed with him. He is right though. I can get really possessive and protective over my family and friends, not just because I am a dominant alpha but because it is my instinct.
“And I am sure that if we meet her and you like her, I think then we will also like her if she is nice,” he said. “Are you sure?” I asked him. “Yeah, I mean it will be a plus if she can handle all your possessive and protectiveness, but I think your mate will be the right one for you” he replied. “And I have a good feeling about this,” he said. We then talked a little more about anything and everything we could think of.
A little while later Dash said, “Well I better get back to my own room so that we both can get some sleep for tomorrow.” “And I also need to get back to Mia, before she starts to look for me, you know how that goes,” he said while laughing. I laughed because I knew what he meant by that. “Yeah, I agree, go before I also hear it tomorrow,” I said. He laughed.
“Goodnight Wenner, and don’t stress to much about the ball and about finding your mate,” he said while standing up. “Night Dash, and don’t worry I won’t” I replied. He then walked out of my door and just as he closed my door I heard, “Where were you babe” Mia asked him. “I was just talking to Wenner, Let’s go back to bed babe” Dash replied to Mia.
“Night big bro,” Mia said outside my door. I laughed. “Night sis” I replied. They then both walked off to their room. I sat in the chair for a few more minutes just thinking about everything I just talked about with Dash. I then packed up the papers on the table and then went to my bed. I climbed in and lay on my back for a few minutes before I went to sleep. My last thought before I fell asleep, was I hoped Dash was right.
