Chapter 05 I've Been Eagerly Awaiting Your Arrival

Right now, Antony, all suited up, was in the middle of a big meeting in the conference room. But then, he got a call from Julia, and his face lit up. He got all excited and said into the phone, "Arrange the highest level of hospitality. I'm coming down to greet him myself."

After hanging up, Antony was visibly pumped. He turned to everyone in the room and said, "Meeting's postponed. Got something urgent to handle." With that, he stood up, ignoring the shocked looks from everyone, and quickly left the room.

Antony straightened his suit while jogging, like he was about to meet someone super important. His team was stunned. Antony was usually all business and serious, and they'd never seen him this excited and nervous. They couldn't help but wonder who Antony was about to meet.

Meanwhile, Julia was just as shocked after hanging up. Antony had asked her to roll out the highest level of reception for the unassuming William, which totally threw her for a loop.

The young security guard, thinking William's cover was blown, pointed at him and said smugly, "So, your cover's blown, huh? No way someone like you is Mr. Jones's guest."

"Get lost, you're fired," Julia suddenly shouted. She thought, 'This idiot actually tried to make things worse.'

"I'm fired? Why?" The young security guard was dumbfounded. He thought, 'What's going on? Shouldn't that guy be kicked out? Why am I fired? Could he really be a VIP for Mr. Jones?'

Thinking about it, the young security guard looked at William, too shocked to speak. The older security guard, on the other hand, secretly breathed a sigh of relief. Good thing he hadn't said anything, or he'd be out of a job too.

William didn't even glance at the young security guard. Someone like him deserved to be fired.

"Mr. Brown, please come in. Mr. Jones will be here to greet you personally in a moment." Julia suddenly softened her tone. For Antony to personally greet someone and arrange the highest level of reception, it had happened fewer than ten times since she'd been with him.

And all those people were big shots she couldn't afford to offend. So William was definitely someone she couldn't afford to mess with.

The two security guards were floored by Julia's respectful attitude towards William, especially when they heard that Antony was coming down to greet him personally. They'd been working there for years and had rarely seen Antony do that. The fact that William got this kind of treatment meant he was a big deal.

The young security guard was now totally hopeless. He was seriously regretting his actions. William didn't give them a second thought and followed Julia straight into the building.

Julia led William into the VIP reception room on the first floor, a place decked out for important guests. The room was super fancy, and only people with serious clout got to go in there.

As soon as they walked in, a pretty receptionist in a black skirt and professional attire came over to help. But Julia waved her off. "You can go, I'll take care of this."

The receptionist was confused, thinking, 'Who is this guy that even Julia is personally attending to him?'

Before she could figure it out, Antony came running over, looking out of breath. Clearly, he was worried about keeping the VIP waiting. This was the first time the receptionist had seen Antony run to meet someone since she started working there. 'Who exactly is this person that Mr. Jones is running to greet?' she wondered.

William didn't pay attention to any of this. He was just sipping the coffee Julia had specially made for him when Antony, still catching his breath, knocked and walked in.

Seeing William, Antony immediately went up to him warmly, extending both hands to shake William's tightly. "Mr. Brown, I've been eagerly awaiting your arrival."

Antony, who was usually so stern, was now bending over backward to please William. This left Julia stunned.

Antony seemed to realize he was overdoing it and quickly straightened up, his expression going back to its usual sternness. He instructed Julia, "Go to my office and bring that bottle of Château Lafite."

"Okay!" Julia was once again shocked. That bottle of Château Lafite was a prized wine that Antony had been saving for years. He hadn't even used it to entertain the head of Azure when they visited, but he was willing to use it for this unremarkable William. This further proved that William was definitely someone she couldn't afford to offend.

Julia suddenly breathed a sigh of relief. Thank goodness she hadn't been rude to William earlier, or she would have been out of a job.
