Chapter 005 Quarrel

"Beep!"

Ethan swiped the door open using his key card.

Through the gates of Sky Hill, nestled at the top of Sky Hill, stood a villa referred to as "Sky Heaven."

"This kid really knows how to enjoy life. But since he's giving me this villa as a gift, I'll go easy on him," Ethan's face showed a hint of satisfaction.

Oliver Johnson, known as the "King of the Terror" in the underworld of Country J, was highly respected. After retiring from the military, he formed a large team and silently guarded the nation.

However, due to an accident, Oliver went crazy. As he erased all his enemies, he also raised his blade against his former comrades. In the end, one of Country J's top personalities intervened and captured the brutal Oliver, sending him to Sydney Prison.

Oliver was indeed a legend, a myth, admired by countless people, and yet, he also invoked a sense of regret.

Ethan had become the new owner of this mysterious and valuable estate, worth two billion.

"Ethan, Bernice was truly thoughtless. She left you alone at the Civil Affairs Bureau and came back! Don't worry, I've scolded her. We'll be having dinner soon. Hurry back. Give me your address, and I'll send a driver to pick you up," said Robert, from the call Ethan received before he was finished exploring the villa. A faint cold snort from Bernice could be heard in the background of Robert’s call.

Ethan didn't let Robert send a driver to him. Instead, he chose the most low-key car in the villa's garage and drove to the Smith family. The car was indeed discreet. People who weren't familiar with cars would think it was just a Passat worth around a hundred thousand dollars.

Diana, who had just arrived at Sky Villa and parked the car in front of the villa's gate, saw a Bentley speeding down from the top of Sky Hill.

"Woah! Was that him?" Diana couldn't help but be surprised and extremely puzzled.

"Who was it, Miss?" Michelle asked.

Diana hesitated and said, "It seems like I saw Ethan coming down from the top of Sky Hill..."

Michelle chuckled and shook her head, saying, "Miss, the injuries you suffered while apprehending the King of Terror had clearly taken a toll. How could Ethan, a simple prison guard, afford to live in Sky Heaven? You tried to buy this villa through connections, but it didn't work out. I think you've been exhausted lately and feel guilty about tearing up the engagement agreement, which is why your vision got distorted."

Diana smiled and nodded. It made sense. How could he live in a place like Sky Heaven? She couldn't even acquire this villa with her own rank as a major general!

Ethan arrived at the Smith family's residence.

As Ethan looked at the table, he saw a pot of drunken shrimp placed on the tabletop. The aroma of the alcohol wafted through the air, and the shrimp soaked in the liquor had a pale-yellow color.

This made Ethan pause in surprise. Could it be that the two bottles of 50-year-old Lafite he brought were used for drunken shrimp?!

"Look at this alcohol, it was yellow when poured out. It's undoubtedly a counterfeit product!" Jane said unhappily. "This pot of drunken shrimp, I think it's not edible."

Bernice also showed disdain on her face and said, "Pour it out, so we won't risk getting sick."

Robert felt somewhat embarrassed and said in a deep voice, "Ethan is definitely not that kind of person. Maybe he was deceived by someone. Let's keep this dish. If you all won't eat it, I will!"

Jane frowned and said, "The guests will arrive soon. Do you think it's appropriate to serve them with this dish?"

Before the words fell, a hearty laughter echoed, and a man of similar age to Robert walked in.

"Ethan, this is my old friend. Just call him Uncle Tim! You might hit the jackpot if he's in a good mood. He might even give you calligraphy and a few pieces of painting," Robert said, smiling at Ethan.

Tim is a national master and a renowned artist across the entire J country. He was a distinguished figure.

Ethan politely greeted him, and as soon as Tim sat down, Jane was ready to remove the pot of drunken shrimp.

But Tim said, "Hey, wait! Isn't drunken shrimp your specialty? Are you not fond of me?"

Jane quickly laughed and said, "Tim, how can you say that? The alcohol used for this drunken shrimp today is not right. It's fake alcohol brought by our good son-in-law Ethan, and I'm afraid it might make us sick..."

Tim's nose twitched, and his expression suddenly changed. He quickly grabbed the pot in Jane's hand onto the table.

"Wait, did you say this is fake alcohol?" Tim was shaken inside, forgetting about manners, he picked up a shrimp with his chopsticks and put it into his mouth.

Jane couldn't help but exclaim, "Tim, spit it out quickly... You would get sick. I'll make another dish for you!"

But Tim had a blissful expression on his face as he slowly said, "It has a rich and smooth flavor, with a long-lasting aftertaste... This is an exceptional wine. It must be the taste of a 50-year-old Lafite!"

After his comment, the Smith family was stunned on the spot.

"What did you do? You must have found a gold mine, right? Weren't you all struggling with a debt of 20 million US dollars owed to the Dragon Chamber of Commerce? How can you casually use a 50-year-old Lafite like this?" Tim was so angry that he stomped his foot, his beard trembling.

Jane exclaimed in surprise, "A 50-year-old Lafite? Tim, are you not mistaken?"

"Seriously? How could I be mistaken? The last time I drank this wine was three years ago at an official cultural exchange event in New York. The flavor was unforgettable for me! It's impossible to forget!"

It pains me to see how you're wasting this fifty-year-old Lafite. If you don't want to drink it, you can give it to me!" Tim was furious, fuming about the fact that they used a fifty-year-old Lafite to make drunken shrimp. It was truly a waste of a priceless treasure.

Jane and Bernice, mother and daughter, were left with awkward smiles on their faces, totally speechless.

‘He's just a prison guard. How could he possibly get his hands on something so valuable? He must have secretly taken it from the McKellen family when he was expelled from their family...’ Bernice scoffed in her heart, feeling that it was somewhat wasteful.

Robert laughed heartily and said, "I told you not to judge Ethan's intentions based on your narrow-mindedness. How could Ethan possibly bring fake wine to his father-in-law!"

Tim shook his head helplessly and said, "What a shame..."

After three rounds of drinking, Robert asked Ethan to join the Smith Group and work there. Ethan politely declined with a smile.

Bernice, observing the situation, couldn't help but sneer inwardly. ‘He had lowered himself to become their son-in-law, so why would he intentionally pretend to have any self-esteem that wasn't worth anything? It was truly laughable!’

Later that night, Bernice had a video chat with her best friend, Dorothy Bush, and vented about the day's events.

Dorothy was also annoyed and said, "It's like he’s reaching for the stars. How dare this guy try to climb up to you? So many people are already interested in you! Don’t worry Bernice. Tomorrow, I'll find a way to make him embarrass himself. He won't have the face to see anyone anymore, and most likely won't have the audacity to bother you again."

Chapter 005 Quarrel

Ethan declined Robert's invitation to stay overnight and went straight back to Sky Villa. As soon as the car stopped, Ethan furrowed his brow and coldly said, "Come out!"

"Swoosh, swoosh, swoosh..."

Several figures immediately appeared around him, each emitting a chilling aura, resembling fierce beasts.

"It seems like your relationship with Diana is quite extraordinary. It is better to surrender, or we will break your limbs before taking you away?" A man with a frightening and cold aura spoke slowly.

Upon hearing Diana's name, Ethan couldn't help but feel annoyed. He shook his head and said, "I have no connection with her. It's best if you don't provoke me."

"You're just a lowly prison guard, yet you dare to act arrogantly in front of us! We are the Four Heavenly Kings under the command of the Lord of Terror!" The man laughed loudly and walked directly towards Ethan.

A large hand stretched out, tearing through the air with a whistling sound, aiming for Ethan's throat.

Ethan shook his head. With their level of skill, he could easily defeat these so-called Four Heavenly Kings.

Unleashing his fist, he didn't even bother to look at the astonishment on their faces. Ethan's fist landed with a bang, bang, bang, bang, instantly taking down all of them.

The locals were dumbfounded when they saw the bodies on the ground.

"What a hassle!" Ethan shook his head, grabbed a leg, and tossed the body off the cliff.

A few moments later, Diana followed the scent of blood in the air and arrived at the foot of the cliff, where she saw the four bodies, barely recognizable.

"These are the Four Kings under the Terror King's command. They have always been a headache for our military as we haven't been able to capture them..." Diana was shocked to see the four corpses.

With just a glance, she could tell that these four people were killed on the spot and then disposed of in the wilderness, which further astonished her!

’Who could have easily killed these four? The blood is still warm, it’s evident that they've just died, but I didn't notice any signs of a battle.’

Diana's eyes were filled with seriousness, realizing that these powerful individuals likely surpassed her in strength.

She picked up her phone and looked towards the peak of Sky Hill, instructing, "Find out who lives in Sky Heaven and send someone over to clean up the scene..."

Early the following morning, Ethan received a call from Robert. "Ethan, my friend, you and Bernice are moving fast with your relationship. It needs to be consolidated. Today, she has arranged to meet a few friends at a sports club to introduce you. Give me the address, and I will have her pick you up!" Robert laughed.

"All right." Ethan smiled helplessly. He couldn't refuse Robert's kindness and agreed directly.

Soon, Dorothy was driving over with Bernice to pick Ethan up.

After seeing Ethan, Dorothy glanced at him from head to toe, expressing scorn. A prison guard, not particularly outstanding in appearance, and lacking power or influence, how could he be worthy of Bernice, the pride of the Smith family?

"My friend, Dorothy, you two should get acquainted," Bernice said coldly from the front passenger seat.

Ethan reached out his hand and smiled, "Nice to meet you!"

Dorothy, however, didn't even look at him, saying, "Stop wasting time and get in the car. Mr. Jones and the others are waiting there!"

Dorothy drove fast, and a few minutes later, they arrived at a club called "Move."

"Hahaha, Bernice, Dorothy, you finally made it!" Several young men greeted them, and leading the group was a handsome man, none other than Norton Jones, the young master of the Jones family and Bernice's pursuer.

When Norton saw another man get out of the car, his gaze turned cold, asking, "Who is this?"

"A low life who wants to live with a princess," Dorothy sarcastically nodded towards Norton.

A cold gleam flashed in Norton's eyes as he scrutinized Ethan from head to toe.

‘He was casually dressed, with an average temperament, and had nothing outstanding about him. And yet, he dared to pursue Bernice?!’

Bernice said calmly, "My best friend has always been like this when speaking, don't get offended."

Ethan glanced at her but didn't bother to speak.

"Since you're here, regardless of status, at least we can consider each other friends. Let me treat you." Norton said casually, not considering Ethan at all. In his eyes, this guy with no background, an ordinary Phoenix man, was like an ant.

Norton smiled at Bernice and said, "Bernice, haven't you always wanted to learn fencing? I just won third place at the National Fencing Enthusiasts Exchange Conference the other day. I can teach you if you want.

"Oh... by the way, I've been working on helping you repay the twenty million dollars owed to the Dragon Chamber of Commerce. I believe they will respond in these two days. Don't worry, even though the Dragon Chamber of Commerce is powerful and wealthy, they will still give me face."

Bernice nodded, a hint of joy flickered in her eyes, and she said, "Thank you, Mr. Jones!"

Once they found a venue in the club, Norton immediately started sparring with a wealthy young man who also enjoyed fencing.

"Whoa, who is that... Could it be General Diana?!"

"Oh my god, it does look like her. I didn't expect to meet her here."

"Who is she practicing archery with? Seems like it's David, the president of the Dragon Chamber of Commerce."

"Wow, Diana, my idol is truly exceptional. Look at that, all those bullseyes!"

There, Diana, wearing athletic clothes, appeared heroic and confident, drawing her bow and shooting four arrows in a row. All four arrows hit the center of the target.

Ethan was in shock. Was there some kind of fate with this woman? How could he bump into her wherever he went? But then he looked again and couldn't help but smile. Wasn't that "little bug" David?

David was arrogant when he was imprisoned, complaining about the cafeteria food, vandalizing the cafeteria, and then making Ethan hang him from a utility pole for three days and three nights. Since then, the mighty Dragon Chamber president became a small bug.

"I never thought I would have the chance to witness Diana's elegance with my own eyes. She is our J nation's rising female warrior. If only I could marry a woman like her..."

"Stop daydreaming. The Walsh family is New York nobility, and General Diana is a heroine among women. Who can be worthy of this goddess?"

However, everyone's attention quickly shifted back as Norton took up his sword, coughed, and began battling the wealthy young man in front of him.

Norton did indeed have some skill. ‘If you don't, you won't be able to get that third place.’

The rich and young man on the opposite side was simply on a different level from him. After just a few exchanges, he was disarmed and forced into a corner, his sword at his throat.

"Impressive, Mr. Jones! He managed to knock down the opponent's sword in just five moves!" Bernice's eyes sparkled as she watched.

Norton's movements were graceful and agile, his swordplay elegant and effortless, causing many of the surrounding girls to flutter with admiration.

Ethan furrowed his brow, ready to leave. He didn't want to have any further involvement with Diana.

Although the four guys who came looking for trouble yesterday were nothing special, he hated getting into trouble.
