Chapter 007 Doctor

"You must be Bernice?" Diana walked up, her smile evident as she glanced up and down at Bernice.

Bernice nodded; she was proud of herself for becoming the CEO of the Smith Group at such a young age, but facing Diana, her accomplishments meant nothing.

"...General Walsh, I'm Bernice. Do you...have something to discuss with me?" Bernice stammered, feeling a bit scared.

Diana nodded slightly and replied, "All right." After saying that, Diana turned around and left.

Bernice stood there dumbfounded. “What did that mean?!”

David arrived just in time, his face grew dark. He spoke in a deep voice, "Are you all talking behind General Walsh's back?"

Norton quickly stepped forward, waving his hands and saying, "No, we would never dare to speak ill of General Walsh!"

David nodded in satisfaction and didn't say anything further.

Bernice opened her mouth, wanting to mention something about the Dragon Chamber of Commerce.

Norton looked at the situation and dared to speak up about the twenty million US dollars owed by the Smith Group to their company.

Seeing this as an opportunity, Norton immediately said, "Mr. Dragon... Could you please be lenient with the twenty million US dollars owed by the Smith Group from your company?"

David replied, "You're coming to me for such a small matter of twenty million? Deal with it yourselves!" After saying this, he chased after Diana.

Norton didn't dare to say anything more to David and turned to Bernice with a smile, saying, "Bernice, don't worry. We will certainly collect the twenty million US dollars owed tonight!"

After the group walked away, the silent little circle finally burst into chatter.

"Oh my, I can't believe I got to witness General Walsh up close like this. It would be worth dying for!"

"I never expected General Walsh's aura to be so frightening. When she approached, I even held my breath! She's around the same age as us, but her aura..."

"Bernice, it seems like General Walsh knows you. She even said you were good. When did the Smith family have such connections?"

Bernice was completely bewildered and had no idea what was going on.

"What if Ethan hadn't left and showed off in front of General Walsh? What do you think would have happened?" Dorothy asked, somewhat gleefully.

Bernice looked at Diana's fading figure and clenched her fist, murmuring to herself, "Someday, I will become an admired phoenix like Diana, solely through my efforts. Ethan, you're just a lowly prison guard, a loathsome nobody. How could you ever be worthy of me?"

At that moment, Ethan received a call from James. After leaving the club, he got into a Rolls-Royce and arrived at the market.

Seeing Ethan get out of the car, James walked over with a smile and said, "Underboss, sorry to bother you. I found an item here that caught my eye. Could you please have a look?"

Ethan nodded as James instructed the shop owner to unfold a painting.

Ethan examined it carefully for a while, then nodded and asked, "How much?"

"One hundred million," James said nervously.

"Buy it," Ethan replied nonchalantly.

James immediately paid with a card, leaving the surrounding experts bewildered and exchanging glances.

Who is this young man? They couldn't confirm the authenticity of the item, yet with just a few words, he made James pay for it directly. What's his background?

"Mayor, we're really lucky. We finally found a century-old piece in this store! Here’s some herbal medicine! I have already prepared it for you. Just take it." an old man dressed in antique clothing said to a middle-aged man whose complexion didn't look very good.

Mayor Joseph of Boston took the teacup and smiled, saying, "Thank you for taking care of me these past few days. When I get better, I will certainly help the Master with some policies to support your development!"

Doctor Thomas laughed and said, "Mayor Joseph, it's nothing. Saving lives and treating illnesses is simply what I should do."

"This is Joseph the mayor of Boston. Recently, he has contracted a strange illness and has sought many famous doctors, but without any solution."

"It seems that experience comes with age. When Doctor Thomas treated it, the illness was immediately cured. Truly worthy of being called a doctor! "

"He is a renowned doctor who cannot be hired even with money. Even important figures in New York must wait in line to see him."

Ethan frowned and suddenly walked forward, glancing at them.

Just as Mayor Joseph took the teacup, Ethan stretched out his large hand and held the cup in Joseph's hand.

"If you want to live a few more days, it's better not to drink this concoction.” Ethan shook his head and said calmly.

Joseph Miller was stunned, while Thomas became furious and said, "Who is this young brat questioning my medication?!"

Seeing Ethan approach, James was startled and hurriedly explained, "Master, please don't be angry. This is my brother. He speaks rudely, please don't take it to heart..."

Joseph nodded when he saw James approaching and said, "Mr. Brown, take care of your brother!"

Ethan indifferently said, "Your symptoms are not an illness, but rather someone is harming you. If you drink this liquid made of hundred-year-old Polygonum multiflorum, you won't live for more than a few days."

Thomas's face was full of displeasure as he said coldly, "Nonsense! Do you think you can show off in front of me? Are you doubting my medical skills?"

Everyone shook their heads. "Doctor" Thomas was a famous physician in the country. Ethan was foolish to question his medicine, which could supposedly harm Mayor Joseph.

Joseph's face darkened as he said, "Mr. Brown, if you don't discipline and educate him, don't blame me for embarrassing you!"

James forced a smile, ‘how could he dare to discipline the second master?’

"Go ahead and die then." Ethan shrugged and turned to leave.

Thomas smiled and said, "Mayor, don't take it to heart. This is just a petty person trying to show off in front of me. Please drink the medicine!"

Joseph nodded, drank the soup in one gulp, and felt a warm flow entering his stomach. After a moment, he felt a sense of relief.

"Doctor truly lives up to the name. This herbal medicine is truly a cure-all!" Joseph laughed loudly, feeling comfortable and full of vitality.

Seeing this scene, everyone couldn't help but be amazed.

Thomas was praised endlessly, "Illnesses are said to be overwhelming, but when doctor treats them, it's like they vanish completely!"

"Master truly deserves to be hailed as a medical genius in our country. He cured the mayor's stubborn disease in just minutes. He's incredible!"

Upon hearing these praises, Thomas merely smiled faintly. He had received too many compliments in his lifetime.

Joseph smugly looked at Ethan and smiled, "Young man, do you have anything to say now?"

"You can still live but not long!" Ethan verbally slapped him without even looking back, speaking coldly.

Joseph was taken aback and said, "After five days, and if I'm still fine, you better think about the consequences of offending the doctor!"

James couldn't help but feel a headache when he heard this. How could these two bosses offend the mayor?

"Five."

"Four."

"Three."

Meanwhile, Ethan began calmly counting down, dropping his fingers one by one...
