Chapter 4

Jessica suddenly cried, making Hannah, who was beside her, feel sad. They had been friends since they were little.

For so many years, Jessica had always been a smart and noble young princess. Hannah had never seen Jessica being ill—treated like now.

It was all Lucas Thomas' fault!

A few minutes later, Jessica gradually calmed down. She took the tissue and wiped her tears. She took out a mirror to fix her makeup. Jessica quickly adjusted her mood and turned to look at Hannah. She asked, "Hannah, I heard that your cousin knows reporters from the Los Angeles Times? Is he interested in an exclusive report?"

"No problem, I will call my cousin Eden right now." Hannah froze for a moment and then figured out what Jessica planned to do. Hannah then took out her phone.

Jessica nodded and looked out through the window.

After three years, Jessica finally accepted the fact that she could not replace Trissy in Lucas' heart. She lost.

However, Jessica would not let the Thomas family get away with the ill—treatment she had received in the past three years.

"Do you want to hang out tonight?" After Hannah hung up the phone, she turned to look at Jessica and asked.

"Of course, tomorrow is the day I'm divorcing Lucas!" Jessica smiled.

“Well then that's great news then. Let's get you dressed up. I'm taking you to a club, you deserve the exposure now that you're no longer tied to that marriage!”

Jessica thought it was a bad idea at first, but went into it when she saw that she had nothing to lose. And truly, she needed to get a life.

“Okay! I'm ready!

Hannah took her time to pick out a few dresses from the closet. Jessica was a princess, so it wasn't ideal for her to have tiny dresses, but who knew it would become a necessity now?

“Here, try this red tiny dress” Hannah said, handing it to her.

Jessica's eyes widened in shock.

“Hey, I didn't even remember I had this, but it's too revealing!”

“Do you want us to hang out tonight or not?”

Hannah rolled her eyes, obviously annoyed that her friend was trying to back out last minute.

“Okay fine, I'll wear it”

Jessica took it from her and put it on. Hannah kept staring at her in a good way so she had to take a look at her self in the mirror. Once she saw her self, she couldn't believe it. She looked different, wild and crazy. Surprisingly, she felt good about it.

It was time to finally let loose, feel free, and soar higher.

Hannah stood behind her, grinning from ear to ear.

“See! I told you it's a good choice. Now sit down so I can do your makeup and hair”

Jessica obeyed instantly and within twenty minutes, Hannah had turned her into a succubus. She looked like she could lure poor men to hell, and she smiled at her reflection in the mirror.

Hannah equally dressed up similarly and they left the house.

By the time they arrived at the club, it was just a little past midnight, so they weren't so late.

They blended with the crowd immediately, or so they thought.

Jessica was too stunned by the happenings around her to notice that everyone else's eyes were on her.

It was her first time in a club, so she didn't really know what to do, but she definitely wanted to get wild.

Hannah led them to the bar where they ordered two shots of Macallan. They took it together as a confidence boost, before Jessica decided that it was time to have some fun.

Jessica's eyes landed on the half naked girls that were having fun, working a pole. It looked nice, and she wanted to try it, just for the thrill. At this point, she still hadn't noticed the number of eyes that were locked on her.

Having had a few drinks, she now felt like she was on fire, her whole being ablaze. She wanted to try things she had never attempted during the three years of past failures.

She tapped Hannah's hand softly, telling her what she wanted to do.

“Hey, I want to try pole dancing. Looks like fun”

Hannah gave her the go-ahead, absolutely proud of herself for finally loosening up.

Before Jessica could move, a guy walked up to her. Blonde hair, green eyes like a peaceful garden and well chiseled face. He looked like someone straight out of a romance book. Unreal.

“Hi”

He said, smiling as he looked down at her.

“Hello”

“I know you must have heard this a couple of times tonight, but it won't be terrible to keep telling you that you're the most gorgeous woman here”

He said, taking her hands and kissing the top of it, while smiling, awaiting her reaction.

Jessica had been so starved of love, and she finally felt wanted again after a long time. That's when she turned around and truly, hot men kept staring at her like they were undressing her with their eyes.

It was totally unlike Jessica, but the stares increased how wild she felt and was willing to go. It was typical of old Jessica to shy away, but not this one.

She subtly excused the guy that was trying to get her attention because she knew he just wanted to sleep with her, thinking she was some cheap slut.

She got to the pole, climbed on it and began to dance. She had no idea what she was doing, but the alcohol gave her so much confidence. It almost made her feel like she was alone, playing and having fun by herself.

Hannah noticed the stares, and it was becoming too much but there was nothing she could do to stop it. Jessica had become the center of attraction, and all the men concentrated on her, watching her like she was some prey. Word spread quickly and every guy was waiting for the perfect time to strike.

Meanwhile, at another part of the club, Lucas was having a good time with his friends when he started hearing whispers about the pretty slut dancing on the pole. He didn't care at first.

His mind still lingered on Jessica's stubborn and obstinate expression. Could he have misunderstood her?

Quickly, he scoffed at his own thoughts. Impossible. Jessica, this woman, had gone to great lengths to marry him, using every means to win him over. She was that cunning.

"Wow, Lucas, look! Isn't that your wife?"

His friend exclaimed excitedly. Lucas's hand holding the glass of wine paused slightly, and he followed his friend's pointing finger, his breath catching in his throat.

What the hell was his wife doing here? Offering herself to men like a whore?

She seemed to have just finished a dance, now descending from the stage. Her hair was disheveled, cascading messily over her shoulders. Her disheveled breathing caused her bare shoulders to rise and fall, making her look incredibly sexy.

Soon, men began to approach her, their greedy eyes shamelessly ogling Jessica.

Damn it! Did Jessica know what this meant?

Lucas couldn't sit still any longer. He got up and walked briskly toward Jessica.

Jessica was in the midst of rejecting the advances of unwelcome suitors when she suddenly felt a strong grip on her arm, pulling her away.

As she looked up, she was met with Lucas's cold and furious gaze.

Damn it! How could she run into him everywhere!

He trapped her against the wall, his eyes blazing with anger.“What are you doing here, Jessica?”

Jessica was so brave and she didn't care anymore.

“I'm here to have a good time as a single lady, so why do you care? Why are you bothering me!”

Lucas was shocked by the audacity, and he saw that she was clearly inebriated.

Heat ran to his groin seeing how sexy she was and how hot she sounded when she talked back at him. He needed to get her out as soon as possible.

“Listen Jessica, let's just leave this place. You haven't even divorced me yet, and you're already so eager to move on to the next man?”

“It's what I want. If you won't look at me, other men will”

She said, trying to move away, but he yanked her towards him again.

“Stop playing with me! I said we should go now”

“If you don't let go of me this instant, I'll scream and accuse you of rape”

"Fine! You're such a jerk!"

With that, he left her and watched her disappear into the crowd, his face full of unspoken annoyment.

How did I not know she was so stubborn before?
