"Mom, dad, Pa, Ma. I would like to introduce you to Nala my date."Hunter said when he noticed them giving me odd looks.

"It's so nice to meet all of you, especially you Mr president I'm a big fan. Not that I'm not a fan of you Mr vice president because I am. It's just nice to meet you.... All... all of you."I choked out and immediately felt like I could swallow my own tongue.

I had just embarrassed myself infront of the head of the nation with my rambling.

Why was I born poor? That failed brain switch is the exact reason why I didn't what to be with Hunter. We were two different people who ran in completely different circles. We weren't meant to be because I didn't fit into his circle.

I thought I would get shot at but was instead surprised when the president and his wife laughed promoting everyone else to laugh.

"It's nice to meet you too Nala."Mr president said holding his hand out for me.

I shook his hand and everyone else's happy that I would be able to live another day and tell the tale of how I embarrassed myself infront of the president.

I literally hid behind Hunter for the rest of the interaction so I didn't make a fool out of myself again. I wasn't in their presence long anyway since the event coordinator came to get the bride, groom and their parents for the next part of the ceremony.

"Take me home."I groaned once Hunter and I were alone once more.

"Why?"Hunter asked laughing at me.

"So I can go die in peace. Why would you do that to me?"I demanded slapping his hand.

"Because I wanted you to meet my family. It would have happened sooner or later so I chose now."Hunter replied.

"Can we go eat now?"I asked deciding to ignore him all together.

Hunter was doing all the right things but with the wrong girl and definitely at the wrong time.

"Yes as promised food."Hunter said taking my hand and leading me away towards the tents.

Unfortunately I didn't get to eat until an hour later but Hunter found me some appetizers to snack on as we waited for the main course to be served to all guests. We were seated at a table with people I didn't know but at least Hunter was with me the whole time paying me complete attention. I was doing okay, until Hunter started rubbing my bare leg under the table. I ignored it best I could until his hand started travelling upwards.

"Stop it."I gritted out taking a sip of my water.

"Can we leave now? I need you."Hunter demanded gripping my thigh hard.

I desperately wanted to say yes because the sight of Hunter in a suit had been doing things to me all day and I was barely keeping it together. But then I remembered him throwing me under the bus with his parents and the first family so I decided to have my revenge.

"No we haven't had cake yet."I grinned knowing that would take another hour.

"You defying me is actually sort of turn on so just keep doing it baby girl. You'll pay for it later."Hunter whispered biting my ear lobe.

My plan had just backfired on me but I wasn't going to back down. I needed to hold out for as long as I could.

After the food was served, we had the cake cutting and even then I still insisted that we stay.

"Why does that boy on stage keep staring at you?"Hunter asked me.

I didn't have to look to know he was talking about Ken.

"He's my ex."I replied honestly.

"So he's the reason for all your trust issues?"Hunter commented in a condescending tone.

"More or less."I said with a shrug.

My dad had something to do with my issues too but Hunter didn't need to know that.

"I can make him disappear you know."Hunter said with an evil grin.

"Let him be. We've been over for more than a year. I honestly rarely think about him anymore."I assured him.

"It pleases me to hear that because now you're mine."Hunter declared pulling me to him and kissing my temple.

Ken definitely noticed that and quickly looked away as if he hadn't been watching us. It was not my intention to try and make him jealous because I meant my words to Hunter, I had done my healing and moved on.

I turned my attention back to the event when the mc announced that it was time for the speeches.

The parents were great and so were the best man and maid of honor. A few friends spoke too sharing funny stories about the couple and wishing them all the best in their new endeavor. It was all well and dandy until the very last minute.

"Now I would like to call upon Hunter, the groom's big brother to say a few words."The MC announced.

Hunter looked surprised because he had told me that he had precisely requested not to be involved in anything. He glared at the bride and groom who just have him innocent looks.

"I'm not going up there."Hunter growled and from the tone of his voice I knew he was serious.

Everyone was looking at him strangely but he was adamantly glued to his seat. Not only was he embarrassing himself but his family too. They were wrong to make him talk but it was still a very awkward situation.

"Just a few words."I whispered to him.

"Never."Hunter gritted out.

I looked at his friends who were looking at me helplessly as if there was something I could do.

I wished there was something I could do to help but what?

An idea popped into my mind in the last minute and I decided to execute it fast before I talked myself out of it. Hunter wasn't going to get up and I couldn't allow him to be humiliated so I decided to do him a favor.

I gracefully got up and walked towards the MC who was standing next to the band. All eyes were on me including Hunter's who was curiously waiting for my next move. I had gotten up so fast, I hadn't even given him a chance to stop me.

I stood infront of one of the microphones next to the stage and cleared my throat.

"Hello everyone, I am obviously not the big brother, sorry to disappoint."I joked making everyone laugh.

"But he has a very important message for the newly weds which he wanted to portray in the form of a song but he has a terrible singing voice so I am here on his behalf. Aaron, Veronica may God bless you and this new road you're about to embark on together. This one is for you."I declared picking up the guitar Ken had set down.

I would have preferred my violin but I chose the next best thing. I could play multiple instruments but I preferred the violin best. My fingers struck the first cord and just like I always did when I was getting into the groove I closed my eyes and started humming the intro. Once I got to the lyrics I opened my eyes and started singing I Do by Alaine and Willy Paul. It was a popular love song for weddings with my own personal mix.

I did it so well at some point the crowd joined in which was always perfect for a performer like me since it boosted my confidence. I looked at Hunter who was smiling at me proudly and I knew that I'd earned major points with him for my action. The bride and groom stepped up to the dance floor making everyone clap excitedly. I even got some support from the band but since I'd taken Ken's guitar, he just sat there harmonizing.

The crowd cheered when I struck that final cord. I bowed gracefully returning the guitar and getting off stage.

"Congratulations to you both."I said to the bride and groom as I passed by them to get to my table.

"Thank you."Aaron replied his words having a double meaning.

He was thanking me for saving the day too and he was most welcome.

I slid into my seat next to Hunter who was quick to pull me into his embrace.

"You did good baby girl, thank you for saving my ass."Hunter whispered in my ear.

"You're most welcome, just returning the favor for what you and your friends did for me last night."I said with a smile.

In reply Hunter just kissed my cheek and handed me a glass of water.

It felt good doing something good for Hunter that didn't require me to be naked. He'd done so much for me and deserved my help at least once.

My singing had prompted the first dance and the father daughter dance.
