Chapter 6
Katrina POV
Then suddenly I felt a huge pain envelop me and a primal heart-wrenching roar echoed through the dark walls of the hospital.
Suddenly a blinding light enveloped my senses. Everything shifted, and the surroundings blurred and twisted. When I opened my eyes, it came in contact with the ceiling in my room.
I realized that I was lying on something soft. The pattern of the ceiling looked familiar. It took a while before realization washed over me. This was my room.
There must be something I needed to see here I tried to wrap my head around what it could be. I sat up feeling a pang of headache. I slowly stood up and walked to the window. The curtains were pulled to the side.
I could see the familiar environment. A smell of nostalgia was over me. I had been teleported to a different time. The day the wedding ceremony was held.
I walked towards the door. I was sure there was nothing I had to see inside the room. I was overwhelmed by anxiety. All. I had seen different unfamiliar emotions course through my veins. I tried to prepare myself for whatever I would see this time.
As I walked past a mirror, I caught my reflection and stopped. I wasn't supposed to see my reflection. I stepped closer to the mirror. I looked at my reflection and a frown settled on my face.
This wasn't right, I had been teleported to various places and had seen all Dominic and Alicia had done to me. I clearly remember wearing the same clothes as the one I wore in the hospital, but this time it was different, I was wearing the dress I had on the day I got married and no stretch smell of smoke lingered in the air every time I was teleported.
Realising the difference, I stepped out of the room. The hallway was empty. I slowly made my way across it. My eyes darting around. Everything was the same without a difference. The decorations were all in the exact place.
When I got to the middle of the hallway, one of the maids walked past me. She bowed before passing. A look of surprise flashed through my face. I stopped and turned around stopping her before she could move further.
"Can you see me?" The maid blinked rapidly. I could tell she was surprised at my question. But you couldn't blame me. A while ago I was standing inside an abandoned hospital surrounded by flames, and now I was here after being teleported to different times.
She slowly nodded and I dismissed her. I kept walking down the hallway and finally stepped out. Taking a few turns, I stepped into the sitting room. It was busy. Maids walked around trying to put everything in place. It was after all a big day.
As I walked around the sitting room, looking for the possible secret I was here to discover, I saw my mom. I didn't know what to feel. I watched as she gave instructions to some maids. She was busy as always.
I looked to the other side, maybe this wasn't the place I should be as it turned out I had once again become invisible. Just as the thoughts crossed my mind, a maid made eye contact with me and quickly bowed.
"Oh wow," I was already getting exhausted. If I was to roam around like this I might as well go and haunt those who killed me.
"Kitty," I heard my mom call me, "is that you?"
Slowly I turned around. She walked hurriedly towards me, her shoes clicking sharply against the tiled floor. She had a small smile on her face when she finally stopped in front of me.
"Did you just wake up?" She asked taking my hand in mine. The fraction between our hands reminded me of how happy she was when she made arrangements for my wedding ceremony.
"Yes," I shook my head. I was no longer surprised that I could be seen and touched. It was already evident that there was a difference this time.
"Go get ready. Before then, I have prepared breakfast for you. This may be the last time you taste my food for a very long time." She said. Her eyes never left mine. I felt loved.
I wanted it to remain like this. I wished I wouldn't be teleported back to the hospital.
I nodded, "After breakfast, Lisa would be ready to get you dressed for your big day. Now run along." She said and dismissed me before going back to what she had been doing before I came.
I walked back to my room, my shoulders plump. I guessed I had to roam about a bit before finding out what I was here for. I was about to walk into the hallway that led to my room when my eyes caught sight of a silhouette.
I focused my gaze and realized it was Dominic. As I watched him walk towards me with a smile on his face, I felt my anger boil. He should throw that facade away. If only he knew I knew everything about him.
"You look beautiful Kitty even when you just woke up," he said. If he had said this before I would probably have blushed immediately but it doesn't work that way anymore.
He extended his hand trying to touch my face but I instinctively stepped back. I noticed he was taken aback at first.
"I haven't washed my face." I lied. He nodded. He must have noticed my uptight attitude towards him but I guessed he brushed it off. He must think the girl in front of him was so much in love with him to give him attitude.
I ranked my head trying to look for the perfect excuse to get away from him. Just then, he stepped in. Houston. I felt a strange emotion course through my veins. Houston my mate. I had watched him burn to his death and my heart broke as my mind reverted to the abandoned hospital.
