10 years later ~ ( Blake & Aiden = 22 , Blair = 21 )
I looked at myself in the full length mirror located on the back of my bathroom door. I was dressed in black skinny jeans, a zebra printed off-shoulder shirt, and black wedges. My long black hair was curled and my face was free of makeup. Squirting myself with body spray, I looked at myself one last time.
I was forgetting one accessory...
I forced a smile.
Like I have been for 10 years.
It wasn't like anyone noticed it was fake and I didn't mind that at all. I'd rather have people see me smiling and happy than have a frown on my face and explain the reasons I'm depressed to everyone.
Nobody really cares, they're just curious.
You tell them your problems, but then what? Nothing. It's not going to change a thing.
A knock on my door disrupted my thoughts. "Come in." I said and went to search for my phone.
The door opened and my best friend Carly West walked in. "Hey!" She plopped herself on my bed and smiled. "Your brother let me in. Are you ready?"
Every Friday, me, Carly, Blake, and Aiden go clubbing. After a stressful week of attending the University of California Los Angeles, we always take this night to shake off all the nerves.
This week, it was Carly's turn to pick the club we will be going to. That means that it'll be one that is full of craziness.
Finding my iPhone, I placed it in my clutch bag and turned to look at Carly who was re-touching her make up.
Carly was a great friend. I met her my first year in UCLA, she was taking the same major as me which meant that we had the same classes. She was unbelievably beautiful. Her blond hair was straight and long, she had big blue eyes, long eyelashes, rosy cheeks, and petite. She was the ultimate All-American girl. Plus the fact that she was incredibly nice and sweet and had so much craziness in her personality, makes her the perfect best friend.
"Let's go!" She grabbed my hand and pulled me out of my room.
Me, Blake, and Aiden all shared a 3 room apartment near the campus while Carly lived in one of the campus dorms.
When we reached the living room, Blake and Aiden were impatiently waiting.
"Finally, damn!" Blake said, throwing his hands in the air in frustration. "Seriously, girls. If you're gonna take this long to get ready, you should start 6 hours before time."
Rolling my eyes, I take in their appearance.
Aside from our black hair, me and Blake look nothing alike. I looked like our mom while he looked like our dad. Blake had short black hair and hazel eyes, he was tall and muscular with a slight hint of facial hair tracing his jaw.
"Let's just go," Aiden said, laughing. He winked at me and I couldn't help the butterflies that began to flutter in my stomach.
I'm not going to lie. Yes, I do have a crush on Aiden. Who wouldn't?
His short brown hair flowed over his forehead, his gray-blue eyes were always sparkling. Let's not forget the fact that just like Blake, he was tall and had a toned, fit body. Girls, swoon at his feet. Literally throwing themselves at him.
A few minuets later, we arrived at Necto. Even though the club was packed with people, they air conditioned it due to the fact that if it wasn't, it would be hot and sticky in there from all the dancing bodies. We picked a table that was close to both the dance floor and the bar.
We decided it was best if we all took shots before dancing off. Blake ordered our first round of drinks. Putting salt on our wrists, we licked it, took the shot, and squeezed the lemon in our mouth. Squinting at the sour taste, I laughed.
"Let's dance now, Blair!" Carly suggested. "Want to come boys?"
"Nah, I think it's weird to dance with my sister." Blake faked gagged. "But don't have guys all over your, Blair, I don't like seeing that shit. Don't make me beat someone's ass tonight."
"Yeah, I'm sick of getting banned from clubs." Aiden said.
Giggling, Carly and I headed off towards the dance floor. Basically, we danced like all the other girls do in clubs; slutty and low. No shame, it was always a lot of fun.
With my arms up, I swivelled my hips. I looked up to the direction of where the boys were sitting. Blake has his angry face on but it went away when he eyed the woman that walked pass him.
Aiden's facial expression was blank. His gaze had met mine and his eyes darkened, he was biting his bottom lip. His eyes never left mine and I began to feel self-conscious.
"Aiden's staring at you." Carly said, "Give him something to look at, girl!" With that said, she grabbed a random guy from behind her, ignoring the "hey!" from the girl that he was dancing with. "Hey, you're cute. Dance with my friend, would ya?" she said to the guy.
The guy laughed and faced me. "I'm Chase." he said with a smile on his face.
Carly was right, he was cute. His blond hair was short and his blue eyes were so light that it was intimidating me. "Would you like to dance? Not that you have a choice. Your friend might kill me if I don't persuade you."
I smiled. "I'm Blair." we shook hands. "I'd like to dance with you." Chase put his hands on my hips. Normally, this would piss me off but it was like his eyes were hypnotizing me. I turned around so my back was faced to him. With his hands still on my hips, I wrapped mine around his neck and danced.
I forgot that I was doing this to see how Aiden would react. I looked at the table where Blake was sitting, his angry face was back and he was staring intently at the boy behind me. I turned to look at Aiden but he wasn't there.
After a few more songs, Carly found me once again. "Break time?" she asked and I nodded. "Thanks for dancing with my friend here..."
"Chase."
"Right, Chase." Carly studied him. "Do you want her number, Chase?"
"Carly! What are you doing?" I hissed. I looked at Chase, ready to apologize for my friend's nonsense.
"Actually, I'd like it if I saw you again." he said. Surprised, by his words, it took me awhile to register what he said. He laughed. "So? Can I have your number?" Shaking my head, I recited it to him as he typed it in his phone. "I'll text you soon. It was nice meeting you Blair, Carly."
"Bye, cutie!" Carly yelled over the music as we walked away.
"Who the hell was that?" Blake said as we sat down. "If you're gonna dance with a guy like that, at least go to the other side of the dance floor so I'm not tempted to punch him for having his hands on you."
"Shush, Blake." Carly butted in. "Stop being so over protective. Why don't you dance with me?" she asked flirtatiously. I rolled my eyes. Maybe she was already drunk from that one shot, it would definitely explain all the stupid things that were coming out of her mouth.
"Yeah, right, Carly." Blake replied and Carly pouted. "It's your turn to get the drinks, Blair."
"Where's Aiden?" I asked, my eyes searching the club for him.
"Eh, he was just as pissed off about that guy like I was so he walked off somewhere."
"Oh." When I couldn't find him, I sighed and stood up to go get another round of vodka shots.
At the bar, I first ordered a shot just for me.
I wonder where Aiden was, I hope I didn't upset him. But why would I? Who I dance with is none of his business, and vice versa.
Although, I did feel a pang of jealousy and anger whenever I see him dancing with a girl. But I never walked away like he did tonight, I just ignored it. Like I've been ignoring all the girls he's been involved with for the past 10 years. Well, tried to ignore... It literally made my heart ache each time. It was left unsaid though, just like all the other forbidden feelings I had for him.
When my vodka came, I was about ready to lick the salt that I poured over my wrist, when a guy sat on the stool next to me. "Hold on a sec, Blairbear." Aiden said. "I'll have a vodka shot too, please." he told the bartender. Aiden turned to me. "Don't ever take shots alone." he winked.
"Of course, how could I forget Aiden Chambers' party rules."
"Makes the parties more fun." The bartender handed him his shot glass. "Let's try something different." He grabbed a lemon from a plate that was handed to him along with his glass and held it up to me. "Put this in your mouth."
"Put it-- What?" I could feel my eyes widening. I had a feeling this wasn't going to end up well.
"Put the lemon in your mouth, Blair." he ordered, there was a smile on his face and his eyes twinkled in that mischievous way. I did as he said, biting the lemon so only half was in my mouth.
Looking into my eyes, his smile has fallen and he had a serious look on his face. He took my hand with the salt on it and without breaking his gaze, he put his mouth on my wrist. I gasped at the touch of his tongue sliding across my skin. After he licked it, he kissed the my hand before taking his shot. With the sliced lemon still in my mouth, I gasped again as he got close to me, which made the lemon fall to the ground.
He kissed me.
