Chapter 09

LIANNA

I was literally doing nothing because that son of a bitch wouldn't even allow me to step out of that room. I thought about taking a nap, but those thoughts kept coming to my mind—like some kind of torture. What I particularly began to think was his idea from the beginning. To incite discomfort and leave me locked up, alone, having daydreams and idiotic thoughts about that damn Caleb and his damn fiancée.

Hypocrite. Maniac. Arrogant. Son of a bitch!

I hated that idiot, hated the way he treated me, and hated the fact of how he affected me—even though I didn't want to. But what could I expect from monsters like him? Werewolves were nothing more than dogs, or rather, wolves; a version without manners, care, or even rationality. It was already surprising that he could wear clothes and not bark at every sentence—I couldn't expect more from someone like Caleb.

They were like animals in heat—well, they were literally animals in heat. And the only reason I was so prone to accept the... caresses of that bastard was the fact that I was alone and needy. And also, there was the factor: attractiveness.

Caleb was a monster, but he was a hot monster. And damn… a hot monster who fucked really damn well—and damn it... how I wanted to forget about that part. But my head wouldn't allow me that pleasure—it preferred to torture me between memories of that cursed night and the misery of knowing that that son of a good lady was fucking me (literally) while he had a little fiancée waiting for him.

Stupid.

I was really, really stupid to think that there was even a chance for him to be minimally decent, or at least not to be a traitor. And to make my situation worse, those brutes he called subordinates—burst through the door and dragged me out of his "commander's" room.

Normally, I would bother to ask where they were taking me—but just feeling that breath of carrion, equivalent to a street dog's mouth—I wanted to save myself; and I just allowed myself to be taken down the corridor, to a cubicle.

"Welcome to your new room, miss." That bastard spoke with so much mockery and such a wide smile on his face when he threw me into that place that looked more like a cell, that I wondered how long it had been since he wanted to do something like that. My blood began to boil as soon as my body hit the floor.

"Go to hell!" I ended up saying when I tried to advance, but that son of a bitch just closed the door right in my face, while laughing even more, two others joined him a little later. "What, are you afraid of being beaten by a human? You cowards!"

"For the love of the goddess, don't you think you're too full of yourself? The commander will soon get rid of you! Or do you really think you're that special?" One of those flea-ridden dogs mocked, laughter could be heard a little later.

"Yeah, do you really think you're going to stay on that podium when the commander's fiancée arrives? He'll completely forget about you, and maybe he'll never come to see you, like he usually does with his other concubines."

I really prefer that the bastard doesn't come see me! I mean, at least he has the decency not to cheat on his fiancée when she's around.

"What happened to that sad little face? Have you already fallen in love with him?" One of those soldiers opened his mouth again, which made me hit the glass on that stupid door that separated us.

"I'd rip out my own heart before allowing myself to give it to something as disgusting as him!"

CALEB

I had to keep up appearances—so I asked my subordinate to prepare a leash worthy of one of my pets. One that I was taking to Lianna.

Because I couldn't leave any room for any of those idiots, so Lianna would be treated just as I had said she would be, like a concubine who was delivered to me like any other who came before her, a little puppy of which I had a certain fondness only because she had a beautiful face and body.

However, if I had to be careful with my actions now, it would get even worse because my fiancée was on her way to that place, and with that would come unnecessary attention over me. "I don't want to have to deal with that, so troublesome!" I huffed, wondering if telling everyone to go to hell would be a good alternative because if they wanted an imposing commander, that's what they would get, because I had no patience to listen to those voices talking shit every three seconds.

And when I saw about three idiots in front of a tiny door, I wondered what they were doing in their shifts, literally doing nothing useful.

"What are you doing here? Who gave you permission to stare at this door as if some circus freak attraction were inside there!" An authoritative tone took over my voice, just for them to laugh like hyenas.

"The human is here, we thought it would be better since your fiancée is coming." They seemed to have decided on their own, even after I had sent them with all the words so that Lianna would just be sent to a normal room.

However, the damage had already been done, and as much as I knew I didn't owe anything to any of them, I also couldn't just start defending a human out of nowhere.

It would be foolish.

It would be like digging my own grave as a commander.

"Oh? Is this a leash for her?" One of them pointed to the hand I was holding the leash in—which I had even forgotten the existence of, because of the stress I was going through just thinking about these beings. "It's really beautiful, just like your new little pet, sir."

"I know, now get out." I replied coldly, my gaze cutting like a blade, "because I want to have some fun with my little pet without an audience."
