Chapter 4

After finishing her visit to the cemetery, Fiona had nowhere else to go.

At this moment, she received a new message.

Henry: [Ms. Woods, Mr. Solomon, has been in a foul mood all morning. Once you're done, please come back quickly and save us!]

Fiona paused for a moment, thinking it might be best to finish the handover quickly and leave as soon as possible.

However, Darwin must not discover the matter with the child. So, she needed to complete the handover as soon as possible and get far away from him to be safe.

Fiona didn't linger and flew back to Bay City.

Early the next morning, as soon as she arrived at the company, the people in the president's office warmly surrounded her.

"Ms. Woods, why are you resigning? What will we do without you!"

"Exactly, Mr. Solomon's anger is terrifying. Yesterday, I didn't even dare to breathe too hard all day!"

"Ms. Woods, please don't leave. We can't survive without you!"

At this moment, the exclusive elevator for the president lit up.

The complaining crowd quickly, seriously, and neatly stood at the elevator entrance.

Darwin, dressed in a black custom suit, walked out with Bella following behind him.

"Mr. Solomon, good morning," everyone greeted in unison, including Fiona, who was standing at the back.

Fiona was still in her usual professional attire, her expression calm. Her soft, long hair was draped over her shoulders.

Darwin walked in front of her and paused for a moment.

"This is my new secretary, Bella Robbins," he said without a trace of emotion. Teach her well."

Fiona looked up at Bella, who resembled Lilian more than she did.

"Okay, Mr. Solomon." Fiona nodded and looked away.

"Fiona, thank you for your hard work. I will definitely learn quickly and diligently!" Bella said sweetly.

"You're welcome." Fiona's attitude remained consistently polite and measured.

Darwin squinted at her, unable to detect any hint of resentment or jealousy from her demeanor.

'Indifference is the absence of jealousy.' This thought suddenly popped into Darwin's mind.

The irritation in his heart surged.

"Coffee." Darwin threw out the word and walked into his office with a sullen face.

A moment later, in the break room, Fiona said, "Miss Robbins, Mr. Solomon is quite particular about the taste of his coffee, so..."

"Fiona, stop appearing in front of Darwin. Whenever he sees you, his mood worsens. He is my man now, and when he's unhappy, it pains me." Before Fiona could finish speaking, Bella crossed her arms and stared at Fiona arrogantly, who had the demeanor of a legitimate girlfriend.

"Miss Robbins, I have already submitted my resignation. I suggest you learn quickly and diligently," Fiona said calmly while grinding coffee beans.

Bella intended to provoke Fiona, hoping she would lash out at her. Then, Darwin would dislike Fiona even more and feel more protective of her, immediately driving her away.

She didn't expect Fiona to remain completely indifferent.

Bella gritted her teeth.

In fact, she had been sent to Darwin's side a few months ago. It was Fiona who was in her way.

Clearly, she resembled Lilian more, yet he kept Fiona around and neglected her.

Darwin, apart from occasionally staring at her face in a daze, was usually very cold towards her.

Not to mention having any sexual relations with her.

Bella shot a venomous glance at Fiona.

"What are you so smug about? You're just someone Darwin got tired of and discarded," she sneered, rolling her eyes in contempt.

Fiona looked up at Bella. "Miss Robbins, is today the first time we've met? Do you hate me?"

Bella was taken aback and reflexively retorted, "Of course not!"

"Is it because you haven't made it to Darwin's bed yet?" Fiona's tone was teasing.

"You're talking nonsense!" Bella, hitting a sore spot, immediately snapped back.

Fiona added, "On the desk in the secretary's office, there are two work notebooks. One is Darwin's secretary manual, and the other is Darwin's lover manual. They contain all of Darwin's preferences."

"What do you mean?" Bella looked suspicious. She didn't believe Fiona would be so kind.

"Hand over the work," Fiona replied with a smile, "Miss Robbins, I don't care about Darwin as much as you think. It's just a job. I'm always professional when it comes to work. I won't leave anything out in the handover. How much you can learn and whether you can please Darwin depends on your abilities."

Bella frowned. She still looked at Fiona with disbelief.

After pondering for a while, she finally spoke, "You better keep your word, or face the consequences!"

Fiona finished making the coffee and pushed it in front of Bella, saying, "Miss Robbins, let me warn you too. In the future, focus on pleasing your Darwin and stay away from me. Don't provoke me, or face the consequences."

Bella felt an inexplicable chill down her spine.

She had heard that Fiona was soft and easy to manipulate.

What was going on here?

Meanwhile, someone said, "Ms. Woods, the head of Sales Department 1 is in the secretary's office, looking for you!"

Fiona lightly tapped her fingers on the table. "What are you standing there for? Hurry up and take the coffee to Mr. Solomon."

Then she left the break room straight away.

As soon as Fiona reached the secretary's office door, Tony Potter, the director of the sales department, rushed over. "Ms. Woods! I was wondering why you made such a big mistake. Turns out you're resigning! If we hadn't scheduled the meeting with the other party in advance, according to the original plan, by the time the issue was discovered, you would have already left! I now suspect you took money from our competitors and deliberately tampered with our contract, causing us to lose this cooperation opportunity!"

Fiona had worked with him before and knew he was a hot-tempered and straightforward person.

She first calmed him down, asking him to explain the problem clearly.

After understanding, Fiona found out that there was an issue with the data on the R&K Electronics contract.

Tony threw a stack of documents in front of her.

The problematic areas were circled in red pen. With careful verification, it was easier to notice that the decimal point had been moved in two places.

"The data wasn't like this when it left my hands," Fiona said confidently.

"Bullshit!" Tony shouted, "Our sales department wouldn't forgo a large commission just to frame you, Ms. Woods!"

He finished speaking and slammed the table hard.
