Chapter 6

At this moment, a few bodyguard-like men ran out from behind. When they saw the handsome mixed-race guy, they visibly sighed in relief. "Mr. Klein, the party has already started!"

The handsome mixed-race guy anxiously looked in the direction Fiona had left and lifted his foot to chase after her.

The bodyguards exchanged a glance, then lifted him up and dragged him away. They brought him back to his parents.

Today was his birthday. He was originally supposed to be vacationing on an island's black sand beach, but his parents insisted on throwing him a birthday party.

They wanted him to meet some influential people, as these were the people he would have to deal with when he inherited the family business.

Fiona, with her tall and well-proportioned figure and beautiful face, attracted a lot of attention under the cruise ship's lights.

She ignored various gazes around her and calmly took a glass of champagne from a waiter's tray, looking for William.

Tonight's party was the 20th birthday celebration of the heir to a famous high-end jewelry brand.

All the notable figures who could come were here.

Wyatt's parents were overseas inspecting a project, so Wyatt was forced to attend this event.

"Darwin, you've never brought Fiona to this kind of occasion before." He sat on a sofa on the deck, glancing at Bella, who was taking pictures not far away. "She does look more like Lilian, but her personality..."

Darwin leisurely swirled the wine in his glass." You've been mentioning Fiona a lot lately. What? Interested in her?"

"Can I?" Wyatt's eyes sparkled as he stared at Darwin.

Darwin looked up at Wyatt, coldly warning, "You can try."

"I surrender!" Wyatt raised both hands.

At this moment, Bella ran over in a panic.

Wyatt clearly caught a trace of disgust on Darwin's face.

"Darwin! I saw Fiona!" Bella said anxiously.

Darwin's brows furrowed slightly. "Why is she here?"

He then stood up and walked to the edge of the mast, looking down.

He spotted Fiona immediately, who was too dazzling to miss.

He saw her beautiful face with a faint smile as she accepted a business card from a pot-bellied middle-aged man and put it into her delicate handbag.

Darwin was gloomy

Bella, full of worry, said, "Darwin, Mr. Durham, Fiona isn't here to find a new rich guy, is she?"

"That's not right. Darwin has you, so why can't Fiona find someone else?" Wyatt, with one hand in his pocket and the other swirling a glass of red wine, smiled at Bella.

"I'm just thinking it's not worth it for Darwin." Bella moved closer to Darwin.

"Don't worry about others; just enjoy yourself." Darwin subtly shifted his body to avoid Bella.

Bella's body stiffened, and she nodded with grievance. "Got it."

Before she left, she glanced at Fiona again.

Fiona's charming demeanor was completely different from how she was at the company.

Luckily, Darwin disliked women with heavy makeup.

Suddenly, she thought of something, her eyes lit up, and she immediately walked downstairs.

Wyatt also withdrew his gaze and looked at Darwin." Darwin, all these years, you've really kept a beauty hidden away!"

In the past, Fiona gave off an impression of being dull and bland. But now, she was like a stunning beauty.

Wyatt thought things were starting to get interesting.

"Degenerate," Darwin spat out coldly.

Wyatt gave a sly smile.

Some people might not admit it, but it looked like he was about to explode with anger.

But was Fiona really here to find a new backer?

Wyatt watched Fiona move through the crowd.

It was clear she had a specific target.

He looked in the direction she was heading.

At the end of the deck, there was a classical music band.

"Isn't that William, the owner of R&K?" Wyatt nodded in that direction.

Darwin just glanced over, showing no surprise.

Wyatt reacted, his eyes widening in shock. "You said you weren't coming to this party, but then you suddenly showed up! You knew William would be here, and you came to find him! For that project Fiona is working on?"

Darwin looked at him, his gaze so cold it could freeze someone." A discarded stand-in, does she even deserve it?"

Wyatt fell silent.

"I came to the party because Bella wanted to come," Darwin added.

Wyatt gave an awkward smile.

Darwin was usually a man of few words, and the more he spoke, the more it seemed like he was hiding something.

After speaking, he also realized his unusual behavior.

He looked visibly irritated.

Fiona signed in relief, finally spotting her target for the night. But she hadn't expected that finding William would be easy while getting close to him would be hard.

Just a few steps away from William, a bodyguard stopped her." Miss, you can't go any further."

"I'm looking for Mr. Newton," Fiona said.

The bodyguard remained expressionless. "Mr. Newton is not handling any matters today. If you have a business, you can schedule an appointment with his secretary."

Fiona fell silent.

Perhaps hearing the commotion, William glanced over.

When he saw Fiona, he frowned in disgust.

William had started as a technician, was very upright, and had a great relationship with his wife. A few years ago, his wife passed away, and he was so grief-stricken that he was hospitalized for six months.

He wasn't interested in women and was even repulsed by those who tried to entangle him.

He said a few words to the people around him and started to walk towards the banquet hall.

As he passed by a harp on display at the music stand, Fiona vaguely heard William regretfully say to the person next to him, "It's such a pity that the organizers didn't hire a harpist to play this harp; it's just for display."

Her gaze lingered on the golden harp.

Fiona's grandmother had been a harpist.

She had learned to play the harp from her grandmother since she was a child and would play for her every time she visited.

William left, followed by his bodyguards, and no one stopped Fiona anymore.

Fiona thought for a moment and walked straight to the harp, sitting down.

Taking a deep breath, her delicate fingers gently plucked the strings.
