Chapter 09 Her New Date

Only a fool would wait for Zachary, but Winona underestimated his speed. Just as she reached the entrance, she saw a tall figure walking towards her.

Zachary was dressed in a well-tailored black shirt and crisply pressed trousers. He had a handsome face and an aristocratic temperament, with a particularly prominent air of natural arrogance.

With his handsome looks, good temperament, and wealth, ignoring his scum behavior, Zachary was definitely the epitome of a male god.

By his side was Dylan, whose kingly aura could not be ignored.

In the few seconds that Winona was in a daze, Zachary had already arrived in front of her with a frowning expression, indicating his displeasure. "Did Brian not tell you my message? It's not just last night, you won't be coming back in the future either."

He came all the way just to ask that?

"Didn't Brian relay my message? I won't only not come back last night but also in the future," Winona retorted, intending to walk away from the other side. However, Dylan blocked her path and said, "Winona, Mr. Bailey knew you were upstairs, that's why he came up."

So what? Was she supposed to be grateful for that?

Dylan was one of the few people around Zachary who knew the true nature of their relationship. However, he always referred to her as 'Winona, Mrs. Sullivan.'

She had been Zachary's maid for three years, and not only did he not recognize her as Mrs. Bailey, but even the people around him didn't consider her as such. They didn't even bother with superficial pleasantries.

Winona looked at Dylan, who was blocking her path, and her temper flared. "Mr. Collins, do you know what people like you would be called in ancient times?"

"Attendants!"

"Winona," Zachary's voice was filled with annoyance, "a little quarrel is part of a couple's fun. It's better not to go too far. You haven't taken any of those clothes, shoes, jewelry, or accessories from the house. Don't you want me to coax you? Dylan, go order the food."

After giving the instructions, he turned back to Winona and said,

"Let's have dinner together tonight, and there's a jewelry exhibition coming up. Feel free to pick whatever you like." This was Zachary's usual way of appeasing her after their arguments; gifting her bags, clothes, and jewelry. Anything that money could buy.

Winona used to console herself, thinking he was just someone who didn't know how to treat women well. But when she saw how he cared for Fiona, she realized what it meant to be slapped in the face.

She snorted with a sharp, mocking tone, "I didn't leave those things behind, I gave them to Fiona. She likes picking up other people's trash, right? Consider that pile of garbage my wedding gift to you both!"

Emily interjected, "Mrs. Bailey, you have misunderstood Fiona. Although she likes Mr. Bailey, she has never thought about breaking up anyone's marriage! She asked Mr. Bailey to help with ordering this bag simply because she's not a member of this brand and couldn't place the order herself. If you like this bag, we can give it to you. There's no need to insult others by using words like 'mistress,' is there?"

If venomous snakes had rankings, the person in front of her would undoubtedly be at the top.

Since they wanted to bring their conflict to the topic of buying bags... Winona turned around and smiled seductively, "Well then, thank you very much."

Rebecca would definitely like this bag.

The important thing was that Winona didn't have to pay for it. Why not take advantage of it?

As for Zachary, she didn't care about his opinion.

As Winona started walking towards the cashier, Zachary grabbed her wrist. "Stop making a scene. If you like it, I'll order another one, it won't take much time."

Winona's heart trembled slightly, and her eyes couldn't help but well up with a hint of bitterness.

Thinking about the past three years of her widowed-style marriage, her own devastated appearance, and then looking at the favored Fiona... Winona understood Zachary's intention. This bag was for Fiona, and she couldn't touch it.

She paled a bit, but didn't let him see. Turning around, she casually pointed at a men's bag and said to the salesperson, "Pack this men's bag for me."

Zachary pursed his lips. Seeing that Winona wasn't angry and even bought him a gift, his gloomy mood improved slightly. Although Zachary didn't like that men's bag at all, his voice softened as he said, "Let's go out for dinner tonight. I'll have someone fetch your luggage from Rebecca's."

Ignoring him, Winona continued to ask the salesperson, "Can you write a card?"

The salesperson nodded, "Of course."

"Then please write; George, Happy Valentine's Day."

Zachary's eyelid twitched as his grip tightened on her wrist. He questioned, "Who is George?"

Winona casually replied, "He's my date for tonight."

She forcefully withdrew her hand from Zachary's grasp and said, "Mr. Bailey, stop making a scene. If you like it, I'll order another one, it won't take much time."

Hearing her words thrown back at him, Zachary's temple throbbed, his tense jawline becoming even harsher. The salesperson finished writing the card, but in this situation, they didn't have the courage to...

"Open up."

Winona took out a card and handed it over, saying, "Swipe the card."

The man's dark and handsome face showed a hint of frostiness. "Winona, with your monthly salary of $4,500, can you really afford this bag?"

He had already canceled the unlimited black card he gave her. She hadn't used any money from it all year, except for the hefty expenditure at the hotel the night before.

Even if she saved every penny of her $4,500 monthly salary for a year, she wouldn't be able to afford even half of this bag.

Unexpectedly, there was a "beep," indicating a successful transaction, and the POS machine started printing a receipt.

Winona took the gift box handed to her by the salesperson and walked away.

Zachary stared at her back, his eyes almost shooting flames.

Leaving the mall, Winona felt unenthusiastic. Seeing that it was getting late, she decided to take a taxi to Rebecca's antique shop.

Rebecca wasn't busy at the moment and stood up to greet her, saying, "Why did you come? Weren't you supposed to cook for me tonight?"

Winona tossed the gift box to her and wearily sat on the sofa, saying, "Don't mention it, had some bad luck."

Rebecca held the gift box and her eyes lit up. "What is this? A birthday gift for me?"

With closed eyes, Winona mumbled, "Yeah."

Rebecca opened the package and when she saw the men's bag inside, she looked like a wilted eggplant, depressed and crestfallen. "Even if you think I'm not feminine enough, there's no need to remind me in this way."

Winona's tone was indifferent. "You can give it to your boyfriend."

Rebecca didn't have a boyfriend. Did the male escorts at the club count?

After resting for a while and calming down, Winona recounted what had happened at the mall earlier.

Upon hearing about Zachary's insistence on Winona moving back, Rebecca found it strange. After a moment of silence, she asked shockingly, "Could it be that Zachary, that dog, has fallen for you?"
