Chapter 5

Luna P.O.V:

I looked out the window of the moving car toward the familiar woods called home. It has been 5 years since I was sitting in Beta's office. I had trained in magic and a werewolf warrior. Today was my ceremony day to take the throne as Luna. I even had them train the orphans with me in magic and warriors because if we needed an army, I wouldn't be able to do it without them.

At first I had been using dark magic by accident when I was very tired or angry. So I controlled my temper to match the pure magic. It was to the point where my trainer who was a fairy created a magic band around my wrist that stops me from using dark magic.

I was the topped warrior and magic user but that's normal. I was the Luna. I needed to be at the top. The Prophecy Child is what the fairies called me. The fairy who trained me was actually sent by my mother. Fairy Fatima, her sister. She wasn't allowed to tell me where my mother was or how she was doing but she told me the woman she was.

I caught glimpses of her just for a bit but the bubble always popped 3 minutes in.

I watched the trees go by fast as we neared the pack house. I had been at the Alpha/Luna convention for 3 years. Top of the class, I had to learn as fast I could because I was eager to save my mother. Alphas hoped that they were my mates but it was a dead end. Which I am lucky for. I did ended up having more allies than I could imagine but the fairies were brewing up something big.

"Luna, you can get out now. The ceremony is about to start." my driver told me. I signed getting out the car, letting them take my bags while I walked the rest of the way. I used the smaller path taking in the sights before I'm crowned leader. I was confident 23 year old woman taking the place above a whole pack. I was respected by many. How I felt really? I don't think I can command an army.

Not without a mate.

I was without a mate and my aunt told me that Prophecy will give me one but there is a catch to decide my fates and the worlds. I was to meet him when he needed me the most.

I heard a twig cracked behind me and I stopped. Jaymie stood and looked around with me.

"You heard that?"

"Yeah. Did you?"

"Yeah someone moving to the left of us. Circling." she told me. She halfway transformed so we were half human and half werewolf.

"Come out now." I heard her powerful voice using my mouth to say it.

This took a long time to do. Have her taken over my body without submitting to her. Apparently Jaymie was a lot stronger than me. So me giving her the reins was dangerous as hell because she couldn't control the werewolf half. The dark magic was resided in her. Hence why the band was also on her as well.

"Where would be the fun in that future Luna." emerged Adrian. Today he was going to be sworn in as my Beta. He turned into my boy best friend as we were both away at the Alpha convention. He was with the Betas.

"Future Beta." I acknowledge him. Jaymie pulled back.

"How was training?"

"Tiring. How was yours?"

"Eh something special I guess."

We started walking in the direction of the pack house making small talk.

"Alpha..."

"What you pathetic filed creature?"

"She has returned back to the pack. Her ceremony is today." one of the demons told me.

"Are you positive?" I growled back.

"Yes sir." he flinched.

"Now prepare for my departure."

He bowed and left me on my black throne.

I was coming back in power over all the realms. The chosen one was now finished with training and I needed to riled her up a bit. Just to see what and who I'm dealing with. I was the King of the Demons, but I was only half Demon, Half Werewolf.

Alpha Diondre.

"Sir, your ride awaits."

"Showtime."

Luna P.O.V:

Making it back to the pack house made me want to go walking again. Everyone was rushing to get ready and moving around just to get things done for me. I was pulled into one of the rooms. Been waxed and plucked and make up and etc was not on my list of things to continue to do. I was upset because being waxed hurts. Jaymie came out to scare them all.

"Jaymie, its part of the ceremony."

"Yeah but it hurts. I feel exactly what you feel and I'm not impressed. I'll stay hairy if thats the case." she huffed.

I ignored her because she was definitely right. This was my first and last wax.

"Okay guys the ceremony is about to start. Luna put on your dress please."

"But--"

"No buts or exceptions."

I rolled my eyes but put on the dress. I was going to kill them all for this. My band beamed meaning the dark magic wanted to make its way out and I calmed my nerves. I was not going to ruin this day just because I didn't want to wear a dress. After finally being finished, we rushed to our places.

I had tuned half of the ceremony out until it was time for me to do something. I refused to listen to this long ass shit. My feet were killing me in heels and this was for Adrian and I. Adrian had went first and now it was me.

"Luna, do you accept being Midnight Moon Pack's Alpha and Luna until you have a mate, where he takes the place of an Alpha..." the elder called out. I stared at him wondering where was my mate even at.

"Luna.." Adrian bumped me.

"Oh yes. Yes of course." I said clearing my throat.

"Will you protect this pack no matter the cost?"

"I do."

"Lead us to every victory and the right path?"

"I do."

"Under the Moon, for the goddess, we now pronounce you LUNA OF MIDNIGHT MOON PACK."

I slit my hand with the knife that was given me and let my blood burn on the coal rocks. When the sizzle was heard the crowd broke out in cheers. I stepped forward with my head high accepting the position. I was one step closer to my mom and whether I wasn't sure in leading the pack, I was sure about one thing-- saving my mother.

Suddenly the candles blew out and the old air blew. That's fine because there wasn't supposed to be wind today. Everyone looked around ready to fight. Adrian stood on my right side guarded. Kinsey was seen to the left of me 10 years old and on top of her class.

"You stay out of harm's way. Do you hear me?" I said to her.

She nodded still looking around. I mind-linked the lady in charge of the young pups.

Get them to safety now.

Yes Ma'am.

I saw all the young children moving out of harm's way by the staff in the charge while all the ones who have shifted stayed put. Suddenly laughter appeared somewhere in the crowd. The air shifts and people had made a circle around who was ever laughing. Moving so that the people on the stage could see it was a hooded figure.

"Its so cute how the Moon goddess picked a child to be the Alpha with no mate."

No one said a word it was silence.

"Who are you?" I asked.

"Oh darling we haven't properly met." Suddenly he disappeared in black smoke and reappeared on the stage with us.

Still with the hood on, he seemed scary as ever.

I bend my knees ready for a fight.

"No need for the fighting stance. I'm not here to fight just yet. Here to scout out my enemy."

"I don't have time for the chit chat and your trespassing. Who the hell are you?" I sneered. This was my territory and how the hell he even gotten in. I wasn't dead, neither was Kinsey or my mother. The barrier isn't broken.

"I am Alpha Diondre. King of the Demons."

He took off his hood and there stood a rather handsome man. We locked eyes and Jaymie began to howl.

Jaymie what's wrong?

Suddenly the smell of cologne was so heaveningly and inviting that I almost drool.

Jaymie what's happening?

Mate. We found mate.

Looking back at Diondre his eyes were red. He stood about 6'3 and he was handsome. His eyes held mine as realization hit him for what it was worth.

"You must be son of the Alpha Damon." the elder announce.

"Yes I have taken my father's place. He passed away years ago and transferred his power to me. My Great Grandfather the Demon King John left the counsel years ago. I'm just here to finished their legacy."

As he was speaking now, he looked unsure of himself.

The wind blow again this time he got a sniff of my scent. His eyes changed from red to dark and then back red again. Almost as if he was fighting the darkness within himself.

"Luna, we will meet again." He took a step back and then disappeared in a thick dark smoke.

"Is everyone okay?" the elder asked.

I fell to the stage ground. Why would the Moon Goddess given me an evil mate? What was her purpose?

"Luna?"

I was staring off in space trying to find answers that I know wasn't just going to come to me.

"Luna are you okay?" Kinsey asked. Tears springed to my eyes. "Hey what's wrong?"

"Mate." I said and everyone around me gasped.
