CHAPTER FIVE

Anna’s POV

“Her royal Majesty Queen Anna," my name was announced to the crowd as I came into the hall. I didn't bother walking down the stairs because mingling with the crowd was not my thing.

“Good evening, everyone. Thank you for showing up to my banquet. Now that I'm here, the party may begin," I briefly said.

My eyes came in contact with Daniel as I walked toward my throne. I was to sit in front of everyone and receive their gifts till the blood moon was in full sight.

The blood was highly anticipated every year, it was the only day werewolves had the highest chance to find their mates.

The thought of love in the air made me sick. ‘I was their Queen and as their superior, I was supposed to have everything. But they got what I wanted the most.'

“Happy birthday Queen Anna, I'm lord Griffith of the Westfield pack. My Alpha and his Beta are unavoidably absent delegating me to present their gifts," He said presenting numerous gifts he had brought with him.

This happened every time on my birthday prestigious dignitaries flaunt their numerous gifts to flatter or win favour from me. But I was unmoved by their presents and rarely paid attention to them.

For hours, I sat on my throne receiving enormous gifts each time my eyes glanced toward Daniel but he didn't bother looking in my direction. The fact that he had another woman in front of him changed my mood.

I watched how she laughed, touched, and got close to him every passing second. My chest clenched from jealousy as I watched them until my eyes caught sight of someone I despised to the very last.

“What the hell is she doing here?" I loudly questioned directing it to Terri.

“She wanted to wish me a happy birthday and nothing more," Terri calmly said and I felt my blood rise.

I tried blowing out at the sight of her but the blazing glare Daniel threw at me stopped me immediately.

"Why the hell was she here? If I last checked I didn't invite her over. How dare she show her face at my party after what she had done!" I blazed within myself.

“Happy birthday my Queen," she portrayed her paltry gift and I slapped it out of my sight creating a scene.

“Get out of my sight, right now!" I screamed at her face before storming out of the ballroom.

“Queen Anna," I heard a familiar voice call me but I refused to answer.

I was too enraged to look at my caller. That woman was the main reason why I had a fallout with Terri. She was a gold-digging whore that wanted nothing but Terri's wealth and status. And no matter how many times I tried to make Terri notice her devious act, he clings to her even more.

“Queen Anna!," Daniel called in an unusual tone. He sounded gentle yet angry.

“What do you want?"

“Can you be mannered for once! You can't bash your guest in public just because you have a beef with her. You lack so much elegance and sophistication and that makes it hard for me to defend you. Your attitude is no manner of a Queen!," He scolded in one breath and I stared at him in disbelief.

This was the highest Daniel had ever scolded me. He was always gentle in correcting me and never raised his voice at me.

“How dare you yell at me? I can break you in a flick of my fingers. You don't deserve to be my advisor or any of you. I know how you all feel about me, a bratty Queen with no manners but guess what I don't care about your views on me, you all can leave I don't need ingrates like you beside me!" I yelled at the top of my voice before walking away from him.

As I walked further, my head started to spin and my nose started to bleed. ‘I must have exacted too much power on myself while I yelled at Daniel', I thought as I fell into a dark abyss.

“Queen Anna," I heard my name multiple times until I opened my eyes to an end atmosphere of white.

“Queen Anna, why are you so reckless!," I adjusted my eyes to the lights and met my wolf Scarlett.

“What do you want?" I barked back at her and she squinted her eyes at me.

“You should be mindful of your words Queen Anna, now you will face the consequences of your temper," I looked to my left and saw the moon goddess.

She was always glowing like the moon, dazzling like the stars and her voice was gentle like a cool breeze. I couldn't decipher if she was angry at me or not.

“What consequences? I have done nothing wrong. If I wasn't faced with the people around me I wouldn't have gone all out in rage," I accused everyone who had attended my birthday banquet.

“Still you should have been mindful of your words. Now you will remain mateless for the rest of your life," The moon goddess declared and I felt myself going backward in seconds.

“What do you mean by mateless for the rest of my life?" I asked confused as I tried to pinpoint what she meant.

“You rejected your mates all in the name of jealousy and anger. I have nothing to say to you except being mateless for your actions," she said and I stood still my head spun a thousand times as I tried to grasp her words.

‘I rejected my mates? How?, And when?', I asked myself only to realize how empty I felt. ‘Was that the reason Daniel didn't chase after me? Was I truly mated to Alex for him to kiss me? What have I done? She mentioned mates, that means I rejected...' I thought within me as I fell to my knees.

“Please reverse what I have said. I didn't mean it that way," I begged the moon goddess disposing of my pride.

“I can't reverse your words but you can reclaim your words if only your mates agree to accept you back," she said and I knew that I was done for. There was no way the seven of them would agree to accept me back after what I had said.
