CHAPTER THREE

******CHELSEA POV

"Hey," Liam had called out to me, seeing my eyes focusing on the chilling. I knew it was Liam by his voice, plus he was the only male that was allowed to enter my room even though he rarely enters

"Hi," I mumbled, facing him; I was still too weak to stand up, and judging by his expression, I knew he was aware of the situation.

He nods before leaving me alone, and soon Martha comes in with a warm smile.

"You scared me, ma," Martha said, helping me up. "I can do that," I tell her, raising myself to sit.

"Why are you here?" I questioned. "I was instructed to call you downstairs for dinner," she replied.

"But he was just here. Why didn't he tell me?" I asked, not expecting an answer, though.

"When did he arrive?" I directed my question to Martha. "He was the one who opened the door when you locked it, ma; he also carried you out of the bathroom, preventing you from injuring yourself, you fell asleep on his shoulder," Martha explailovinglytone.

"There are many things you can do to me, Martha, but lying about Liam's actions is unforgivable," I warned her.

"Ask other staff, and they will confirm my statement. He also relocated your room closer to his," she said,

At this point, I thought I wouldn't be shocked by Liam's action, but this was a game changer.

I couldn't tell why he did it, and I knew I shouldn't misread his intentions. "Go downstairs and tell him I'm coming," I instructed.

"He said I must come down with you," Martha said. "But I want to have my bath," I tell her. "He already bathes you," she informed.

"He took care of you, and he is the one who made dinner," Martha said close to my ear. I don't know if she aimed for a whisper, but it was loud.

"Am sure he just wants something or wants me strong enough for sex tonight," I explained, wearing a jacket and heading downstairs.

LIAM POV

When I heard her approaching footsteps, I quickly rushed down to the dining. I had gone to call her myself when Martha was taking too much time.

I hoped she would be excited hearing I cooked, but she turned it off immediately, reading something else.

"Good evening," she mumbled, taking a seat. "Evening," I muttered, sitting opposite as Martha served the food.

"So, are you free this weekend?" I asked, breaking the silence. "I have a three-week business trip, and I would like you to join me," I said, answering her questions before she could ask.

"Ok, why am I following you on business trips? I don't usually follow you on those," she mentioned.

"It's nothing special. I just want you there in case…,". "You need someone to fuck," she finishes.

"Sure, I will be available for the weekend," she said, dropping her fork. "If you don't mind, I wanna go upstairs. I'm full," she excused, leaving me alone.

The sound of Kelvin's laughter the next day provoked me. "I can't believe you messed up a perfect moment, bro," he says, laughing a bit more.

"Well, she thought I wanted something," I defended. "You were not supposed to ask yesterday. Maybe today would have been fine," He corrected.

"But if I had asked, she would have still felt the same way," I pointed out.

"When she thinks like that, you will say in a cold tone that you didn't want what happened the other day to repeat itself," he explained.

"And she will think, did he always care for me? Did I mistake him for being cold when he only cared for me," He went on. His words made sense to me.

"That's why you confuse her, making her view you differently," he finishes. "You should have told me this yesterday," I complained.

"You should have called me first," Kelvin snapped back. "So what now?" I questioned, sinking to my seat.

"Well, the weekend is tomorrow, isn't it? Just from now on, keep me updated, and I will tell you how to act," he replied.

"Thank you, man, you are the best," I said, shaking him as he began laughing again.

"I thought mafias are supposed to be players," he teased, laughing at his sick joke.

"But honestly, you don't need to thank me, and it's what friends are for?" He said, being all serious.

"Butoh, girls like shopping, so if you tell her not to pack, you can take her shopping for new clothes," Kelvin excitedly said.

"The only thing is you need to be attentive, meaning, no phone call, no work and you must pay attention to her facial expressions so you will know when she is tired," he explained.

"Attentive, alright, anything else," I asked. "Not now, no," he replied. "Oh, don't go home early today so that you won't be stuck in an awkward situation with her," he says.

"You know what, Kelvin, why don't you and Emily come with us? That way, Chelsea won't feel left out, and you can guide me through," I reasoned.

"You can also think of it as a vacation between you and Emily, and who knows, you could get potential investors too," I said, trying to sell the idea to him.

"I will talk to Emily and give you her reply," Kelvin says, "I have to go now, having been working much lately," he explained.

"But I will call you to tell you her answer," he says, shutting the door.

Thus my excitement grew when Emily accepted to go with us. The next morning, Chelsea was already ready. She had followed my advice and not packed at all.

"Do you have any questions?" I asked her, seeing how fixed her eyes were on me. "Nothing really," she responds.

"Chelsea," I called out. " It's nothing, really," she said, going on to be quiet and then sleeping off for the rest of the ride, killing my efforts of offering to drive anyway.

"We are here," I announced as I woke her up, not after I took some pictures of her sleeping. She awkwardly looked up before coming down from the car.

"Thank you," she said, and as I was about to answer, an excited Emily came hugging Chelsea and Kelvin, slowly walking behind her.

"Oh my gosh, you looked prettier in person," she said after breaking free from her embrace.

"Nice to me, you too, Emily," I greeted, watching her scan me before returning her gaze to Chelsea.

"Let's ignore this douchebag for once," she tells Chelsea, locking her hands with her. "He doesn't know yet that he doesn't involve himself with ladies' talk," she sneers.

"Can you be saying that?" Chelsea asked. "To him, he can't do anything, can he? I'm his best friend's wife, and our families started the business. He just got the upper hand, so he can't touch me," She boasted, still giving me funny faces.

"Come, let's go inside. Let's be acquainted and show them what friendship is?" She went on, dragging Chelsea in.

And for the first time in a long time, Chelsea smiled genuinely as she followed Emily in.

"Looks like bringing Emily is a good idea," Kelvin says. "And so there has been a change in plan," He informed.

"You won't be pairing with Chelsea, but me. Emily thinks if she has this bond with Chelsea, then Chelsea would want to hang out with her, thus won't mind being in your company," He explained.

"And you agree to it. Why?" I asked. "Don't ask me that. When you love someone, you can't say no to them, and to some point, it makes sense," He answered.

"Don't complain, will you, as it's already working," he continued, pointing to the girls who were talking and heading inside.

"Fine then, anything to get her to look at me in a positive light," I mumbled as we walked inside.

Entering the plane, I discovered they had arrived and were seated. I watch Chelsea entering the private room with Emily before taking my seat next to Kelvin.

"Is she supposed to be here," I asked Kelvin, when I saw Emily out a few minutes after we had taken off, he turns smiling at Emily, who returned the gesture with a frown

"Hey, what's wrong? And why are you not with Chelsea?," Kelvin texted immediately. He placed the phone in a way I could read his chat too.

"She wanted space," Emily replied. "Why?" Kelvin asked. "I don't know, well I do know, why don't you ask your friends," She texted back, frowning.

"Why are you not talking to her?" I asked as he dropped the phone. "She said you know what's wrong," he whispered into my ears. "If I knew, I won't be concerned," I tell him as he nods and picks up his phone.

"He said he doesn't know," He texted Emily. "How won't he know? He never asked?" Emily texted.

"Please, can you just tell your so-called Emily to be straightforward," I pleaded as he smiled. "Focus on your meeting," he tells me, returning to the text.

"Babe, will you just answer my question before my friend kills me," Kelvin pleaded.

"It's Chelsea's first time flying, and she is air sick. She told me to excuse her when she was throwing up," she informed, looking away from her husband's side.

"Oh shit," I exclaimed reading the text. "Tell him to go help her by raising her hair and patting her back till she is done," She suggested, dropping her phone.

"What's a big fuck up," Kelvin teased. "He didn't know," he says to the curious eyes of the client, laughing.

"Fuck off," I yelled, standing up and heading to the private room. The closer I got, the louder I could hear Chelsea.

I followed Chelsea's advice, raising her hair and patting her back. "Emily, I'm fine, please. I don't want you here," she said before continuing her business.

"You didn't eat anything yet, and you are throwing up," I mumbled as she paused, turning to me, her face immediately turned cold.

"You know you could have told me about this," I told her. "Come on," I said, dragging her to the window.

"You are focusing your mind on the fact that you are above the earth, but rather if you look at the beautiful view, then you get sick less," I explained, standing behind her.

"Ok," she mumbled, "This was how my mom taught me how to get rid of my fright when I felt flew," I informed.

"You could have told me, Chelsea," I said. "And what could that have changed," she asked, her voice low.

For some reason, I liked that she talked back. Even though her voice was low, it was something.

"It could have gone on a ship or maybe canceled," I told her. "Really, why is it so important I join you?" She asked, her tone a bit increased.

"It wasn't at first, but with how your health was going, with what I saw the other day, I can't let you on your own, can I? Because maybe the next time I come, I might see you dead," I replied.

"Well I,t's not of your concern alright, leave me alone," she said. "And I am not going to, " I said.

"I was enjoying you talking back, but if you continue, I might lose it," I said. "And you won't like me if I do," I threatened.

"Sorry but I didn't catch that threat, cause what more monstrous thing have you done that I am not used to," She asked.

"Chelsea enough," I warned. "Or what?" She questioned.
