CHAPTER 7. GIVE UP

Within the forest guarded by strong prohibitions, a million mysteries lie hidden. The forest was a prison for sinful demons for centuries, under the protection of ancient seals that guarded them. However, when the Snake Demon King named Nagara appeared, the state of the forest changed drastically. Nagara, who exudes an aura of darkness and deadly power, threatens their existence.

Nagara's presence not only broke the seals that had shackled the demons all this time but also forced them to flee from the place they had called prison. In desperation, the demons scattered out in search of shelter, trying to penetrate the defenses of the forbidden forest. Some tried to challenge Nagara, but unfortunately, their strength was no match.

Chaos was widespread throughout the forbidden forest. Nagara ruthlessly breathed his poisonous breath to turn the woods of the place into a terrible sea of fire.

Meanwhile, Diego, who is currently in a hiding place under the rubble of his house, is feeling very uneasy. His heart was racing, and his eyes were alert, constantly monitoring every movement around him, hoping that Sandra, the beautiful woman by his side, was safe.

"That demon is getting crazier. Sooner or later, he'll find this place," he whispered in the darkness as he turned to Sandra, who was hanging her hopes on Diego's shoulders.

However, until now, Sandra has not shown any signs of recovery. Her body temperature was getting colder, and sweat was pouring down her forehead. She groaned in pain several times, and that's when Diego felt even more at fault.

On the other hand, Diego knows that he must immediately get the antidote to the poison in Scaledark, the cunning snake demon that has put Sandra in this state. However, to catch Scaledark, Diego must not be seen by Nagara.

Suddenly, Nagara's angry shout broke the silence. "Where is that human!" The cry shook the forest and created vibrations that shook the surrounding ground. Of course, Diego couldn't ignore it. Fortunately, he had disguised Sandra's scent by wrapping his robe around her body.

Then, Nagara slammed his tail hard into the ground, shaking Diego's entire hideout. This affected the underground pit that had been Diego and Sandra's sanctuary. The vast hole collapses and almost buries Diego and Sandra alive.

After Diego managed to escape the ruins of their hiding place, Nagara immediately noticed Sandra's presence and chased her. Within seconds, Nagara had appeared in front of Diego and Sandra.

"You've finally come out too, cursed human! I'm going to pluck and eat your soul!" Nagara's shout rang out sharply, and without warning, Nagara used his tail to launch an attack on Sandra, who was trapped in Diego's arms.

The werewolf prince jumped nimbly to avoid the snake demon king's deadly attack. However, Nagara's attacks didn't just come once, but repeatedly, draining Diego's strength and endurance. The white-brown man looked exhausted, and the odds were stacked against him.

"Nagara's movements and attacks are getting faster. It's hard to dodge without putting up a fight," Diego muttered as he tried to hold his labored breathing. His brain was constantly thinking of ways to counterattack his formidable opponent.

Nagara made a tempting offer, "Give me the human, then you can go save yourself. Diego smiled slightly at the offer. However, he knew that Nagara was a ruthless demon and would still kill him even if he handed over Sandra to him.

"Take it yourself if you dare, or maybe you can't afford to seize it from me?" Diego's mockery succeeded in provoking Nagara's anger. So, without hesitation, the scaly demon approached Diego in the form of a giant cobra. Its vast head approached Diego, then suddenly spouted hot flames toward Diego.

Diego dodged the fire attack quickly, but unfortunately, the fire touched his shoulder. Forced, Diego had to release his grip on Sandra, which was Nagara's opportunity to snatch Sandra.

With a huge black tail, Nagara wrapped around Sandra's slender body, bringing her close to his wide jaws, ready to devour his victim.

At the same time, Diego attacked again with his sharp claws. Nagara's tail was severed in an instant, and Sandra was saved.

"How does that hurt?" Diego taunted Nagara, who looked tortured after losing his tail. He continued to attack Nagara, who looked weaker and weaker.

However, Diego's victory was short-lived. Nagara's severed tail began to grow back quickly. Nagara wagged his tail, trying to immobilize Diego. Diego was sent flying after his body slammed hard into the giant Nagara's tail, which had grown stronger.

The werewolf prince's body fell among a pile of demon corpses that Nagara had killed. Diego felt his strength weakening and his wounds getting worse. Some of his limbs felt fractured, so he had difficulty moving.

"That sucks! If I had the strength I had back then, I wouldn't have been beaten so easily," Diego muttered, his breath coming in short gasps and his body shaking. He couldn't stand up and chose to lie on his back in resignation.

Diego's dim eyes looked up at the dark sky, now covered by thousands of demons trying to escape Nagara's wrath. Looking at the increasingly bleak situation, Diego felt desperate.

"They're all powerless against Nagara, just like me," Diego whispered disappointedly. The scene around him transfixed him.

Meanwhile, Sandra lay on the ground helplessly, still in a very critical condition. Diego felt helpless and blamed himself for being unable to protect the woman who had become an important part of his life.

"Sorry, Sandra. I can't help you. I'm not strong enough, and I suck!" Diego complained, then blamed the gods for destroying his strength and throwing him into the forbidden forest without protection.

Diego thought Nagara would soon destroy the place, but the gods didn't seem to be intervening. They watched from the celestial realm as if witnessing the imminent death of the demons and Diego.

"Hey, gods! Are you guys just going to shut up and hide? At least give me back my powers so I won't easily die like this!" Diego called out to the gods in a weak, disappointed tone, but no answer came.

As Diego slumped further, Nagara approached his hopelessly sprawled body. "Do you still want to fight, little wolf? Or are you ready for your death?" asked Nagara in a smug tone, his tail wrapped around Diego's helpless body.

Then, at this tense moment, Sandra's fate depends on Diego. What will the werewolf prince choose next? Has he given up on Nagara?
